Book direct or through travel site

We're about to head to Hong Kong to check off the last of the theme park resorts on our list! We normally book direct through Disney on our trips, but I am finding some better (seemingly much better) rates right now for Disneyland Hotel and Explorer Lodge on some other sites, like Expedia. Any...

    Where have you travelled to?

Hmmm ... fun question for reminiscing! I have been to ... USA, Canada, Mexico, Jamaica, Bahamas, Panama, Costa Rica, Belize, Nicaragua, Honduras, Haiti, Dominican Republic .... Chile, Brazil ... Japan, China ... France, UK, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany (East & West in the day), Switzerland...

SHDL and TDR Christmas decorations in April??

We didn't have any trouble finding a good number of Christmas ornaments in SHDL in late November, but found almost NONE in Tokyo. We, too, buy ornaments every year we can. That said, I'd be surprised if you find much in April...but, as rwu suggests, if you can be a bit loose with your...

    Any newer TR for SDL?

We did Shanghai (and Tokyo) back in November. Not exactly "recent", but long enough past opening to not be a part of the opening experience! I didn't do an actual TR, but you can read some of my thoughts here (https://www.disboards.com/threads/asia-on-a-whim-cause-why-not.3552575/) and feel...

Asia on a whim ... 'Cause, why not?

Yes, weekdays, specifically, we were in the park on Tuesday & Wednesday. Well, naturally everything is relative, and I couch everything in terms of "As Disney goes....". That said, A) We thought everything in Shanghai was so inexpensive, it is hard to consider anything to not have been good...

Asia on a whim ... 'Cause, why not?

We're back and had a WONDERFUL time (naturally) ... We loved both parks and, other than crowds in Tokyo (more noticeable in Land than Sea), didn't experience any of the negatives some people report. We flew from Dallas non-stop to Shanghai; with Shanghai as our only stop in China, and heading...

Asia on a whim ... 'Cause, why not?

Was planning on going to DLR California at Thanksgiving again this year, but just decided on a bit of a whim .... hey, why go to California when we could go to China :) So as of yesterday we're all booked now to do Shanghai (2 park days) and Tokyo (3 park days) for our Thanksgiving trip!! Let...

Are most local kids off for the whole week of Tday?

First stating the obvious -- Disney is busy. All the time. (Though last year @ DL Paris was pleasantly light crowds). That said -- we always do Disney at Thanksgiving, always Disneyland California except for last year when we did Paris. Our "usual" days are the Friday AFTER Thanksgiving...

Family hotel London night before eurostar

Add another vote for Premier Inn. Our family of four flew into London from the USA, did a long, busy day of sights in London, crashed for a couple of hours at Premier Inn, then walked out to find some dinner - lots of fast food and a few other choices in the area, plus the hotel restaurant...

    OT: Merry Christmas

Having just been at DLP (and in Paris in general) last month, my daughters and I sat in church this evening waiting for the start of our 5PM (U.S. central time) Christmas Eve service and we watched my watch to count down the minutes until Christmas day officially came to Paris :) Merry...

A US Disney Mom and Son~ to Paris we go! (with your help, of course!)

We stayed at the Premier Inn, and to be completely accurate, it was actually directly across (beside) from Kings Cross station, which is then directly next door to St Pancras; but close enough for us to consider it right next to! And it occurs to me as I read my earlier post that I should be...

A US Disney Mom and Son~ to Paris we go! (with your help, of course!)

We're at DLP right now, from Oklahoma with much experience at DLR in California. Though we only stayed in London 1 night, chalk up another vote for covering both -- we flew into London (via Chicago), had a great time touring the sites of London (even though the time was short, we saw a lot)...

Free sandwich @ Earl of Sandwich

When we registered, our "birthdays" ;) were about 3 days AFTER the day we registered. And we got free brownie and free birthday sandwich coupon at the same time overnight (within a few minutes of each other according to time stamp on the email).

OT - Driver/Guide for one day in London

Well...safely tucked into our hotel near across from the train station now -- a wonderful day of touring London with a Blue Badge Guide and Driver now a grand memory! As expected, traffic was no concern at all on a Sunday in late November -- no jams, nothing I would even consider heavy anywhere...

Free sandwich @ Earl of Sandwich

We got our email(s) overnight (USA time, like 2AM) the night after we signed up (as in, signed up yesterday afternoon, got email around 2AM this morning). A "Welcome" email with the free brownie coupon for all who register, and, in a separate email, a birthday coupon for a free sandwich since...

    Anyone ever been solo?

Add another vote for going solo is no concern! Never done DLP solo, but I've done Disneyland California solo and had a GREAT time!! I would certainly do it again (or any of the other parks) if I found myself nearby, with time, on a solo trip!

OT - Driver/Guide for one day in London

My family will being flying into London to start our vacation, spending a full (albeit a bit exhausted) day in London, staying the night, then taking the Eurostar to DLP the next morning. To get the most from our limited time in London, we're looking for a driver/guide for the day. Does anyone...
