Planning a family trip for 10 people in 2024

We are also planning a family group in 2024 (8 adults for us). It will be a first trip for 4 of the people. I am not doing a split stay to make everything a little easier. I have done split stays a lot (we had 3 resort split in 2023) and it is always a little disruptive. I talked to my group...

DVC Rental points - availability updates?

Availability is not dependent on an owner releasing a room. Owners get points that they can book rooms with. There are very few fixed week contracts. For most owners, they book what they want each year. So, if you are renting, it is best to get your request in early.

    ANNUAL PASSES ARE BACK!!!

Well, just here to vent. I was on hold and the estimate said over 2 hours. I have one meeting today where I need to present to a group. The meeting was in 3 hours, so I should be good! ...Phone call is answered 3 hours and 15 minutes later. 😭 I had to hang up and start over.

Bay Lake Tower - standard studio

There are not very many standard view studios. Not all rooms on floors 1-5 are standard view. According to the reviews and pics from members of DisBoards, 7437 is a lake view room. https://www.disboards.com/threads/blt-rooms-and-views-with-picture-links-last-update-of-post-1-10-21-2015.2257082/...

    Which single stroller to buy?

Maclaren Strollers are great. We used it until the youngest was 7. They are light and fold up small.

    DVC loan payoff question

There is no penalty for early payoff. I have never had a car loan that had a penalty either, however. We bought our last contract on a cruise. I paid it off about four months later. I only paid interest for the time I held the loan.

Resort Guest Parking at a Different Hotel

There is no 'pay to park' at Disney resorts right now. You can park at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) as the previous poster suggested. That is the parking lot for Magic Kingdom. Then, you can take the resort monorail to Grand Floridian. After dinner you can walk to MK. Finally, you...

Extra dishes for 2BR at BLT?

Good luck with the planning! I just wanted to point out a seating difference between some of the villas. Their is not a lot of seating in the kitchen/dining/living room space. The set-up is the same between the 1-bdrm and 2-bdrm. So, the kitchen seating is more geared to having 5 people in...

Fort Wilderness Cabin or Wilderness Lodge Studio?

Depends on your group. If you have five people and are considering a studio at Boulder Ridge; I would definitely choose the cabin. If you have four people, I would choose a regular room at Wilderness Lodge. However, there are some situations I would still pick the cabin. (If you have small...

    Wisconsin/Minnesota DVC Owners

No. Stick with BWV if that is where you love. This was our second stay at BCV and we decided we don’t really like it. I know it is beloved, but the layout of the 2 bdrm drove us crazy - so many doors! The view we had was awful too. We love CCV, but next time we’ll skip BCV. We’ve never tried BWV.

    Wisconsin/Minnesota DVC Owners

We checked in on opening day! 300 pts at CCV for $163/pt Last stay was in May - 8 nights at BCV and 7 nights in a CCV cabin (my favorite) We always fly Delta non-stop. Our May trip was only $188 round trip! On the way down, we got...

Riviera - Do all one bedrooms have a walk in shower?

BLT 1-bdrm have the walk-in shower and big tub in the master. They also have another bathroom with a tub/shower. Riviera has one bathroom. It is like the master bath at BLT; walk-in shower and large tub.

Does Copper Creek have DVC merch?

If you click on a shirt, you can select different 'styles'. I got a pink tank top for myself and a black hoodie for my husband. They even have infant bodysuits. This is true for the coffee mugs and water bottles, as well.

    Question for the "Old" Members

No. I didn't. It went into the shredder. I treated it like an expired membership or credit card.

Crazy Covid Purchase - Canadian Edition

We bought our first AND second travel trailers during the pandemic. So, we're catching up fast. However, we have a very small trailer too! We started with a Camp365 (you'll have to look it up) and now we have a Taxa Mantis.

    Just bought RIV direct!

Congratulations! I have read several posts lately (here and FB) about people forgetting to bank their points. So, my advise is to keep that date in mind! That is what we do with 'extra' points. I have used every point, without difficulty, in my 12 years as member.

    Just bought RIV direct!

They can't hold back rooms from DVC members. However, Disney is required to maintain ownership of a certain percentage of points. So, sometimes member services is allowed to pull from that inventory to book a 'Welcome Home' visit. I have not heard of a member having to book it before closing...

When do I need to use these points?

If you have 2020 points that you are not going to use before September, you can bank them as long as you do it April 30th or sooner.
