The Everything Victoria & Albert's Thread

V&A increased prices last year although they may have grandfathered in existing reservations. CT is a bit more expensive than QVR now; maybe there's an option to do off-menu dishes, but it seemed very similar if not identical to QVR. In late Oct, I think prices were 150/225/250.

Unless you count bread, the base QVR/CT menu is 10 courses with the options to add a couple more (caviar service and turbot?) and/or upgrade the beef from AU to JP.

    Phone Directory

Usually I call the switchboard and that always works (to a certain extent, some numbers go to a voice mailbox). Calling the hotel number listed on the website worked for me a few months ago, but maybe I just lucked out with the right call center. Also, I haven't tried all the restaurants at...

    Phone Directory

You could call the front desk (if the restaurant is in a hotel) or the WDW switchboard (407-824-2222) and ask to be transferred to the podium.

You may want to call them yourself to be sure. I may have misheard the reservationist but I thought the current prices were $150/225/250 (main/qvr/chef's) up from $135/210/210 (or was chef's 225?). I did not ask when the increase went in or whether ADRs booked before the change would be...

2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

For those that might be interested, the featured winery for the V&A sig dinner may be Paul Hobbs, dunno if that's set in stone.

2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

Isn't that really the same as the TiW email saying it? ;) Slightly more on-topic, has anyone been to other (non-Disney) food festivals? I've only been to WDW's and I'm curious how it compares to those at NYC, Aspen, SOBE, etc.

    Omakase @ California Grill

I might the only one that did not think this was worth the time/money, even compared to other WDW options. I've been hoping for pics or recaps of more recent iterations because my meal felt like a work in progress (Dis_Yoda had the exact same meal almost a month later so maybe they thought it...

    TIW math ??

73.95 = thenon-alcohol subtotal, next addend was $15 for wine (I was going by your statement that AP discount doesn't include alcohol)

    TIW math ??

I thought the TiW auto-tip was calculated from the pre-discounted amount, has that changed? Cheshire Figment's example a few months ago, here. I'm also assuming that FL still has 6.5% sales tax. In the OP's scenario ($88.95, $15 of which is alcohol): TiW = 71.16 (20% off 88.95) + 4.63 (tax...

    CA Grill was Awful

I thought most of the review was fine, especially the parts that would have been bad in anyone's standards. I'm a bit less confident that the current "emperor has no clothes" push will actually result in any noticeable improvement - I'd be happy to be wrong... It's the "fine dining"...

    CA Grill was Awful

How much did the food/service count in your "best all-around" award and how recently had you visited before this? Without context, what I found puzzling with your review is that it made it sound like there was this sudden and drastic drop in quality. Hasn't it always been about the view? CA...

    Citrico's & Chef's Domain

Without knowing your personal space preferences, I think you'll probably be ok with 12; Citricos holds its F&W/winery dinners there and I've always been comfortable. I would seat the wide gesticulators on the ends, though. I'd take the added privacy of that room over a little crampedness any day.

NOT a review: CA Grill Omakase

Hrmph, it's surprising that the menus would be the same. When I was there a few weeks earlier than you, they said it was already the 3rd iteration since opening.

California Grill in two weeks! Should I cancel?

If you've been there before and enjoyed it, I think you'll probably still enjoy it. I don't think the problems people have reported recently are new; my experiences at the previous incarnation had a noticeably higher proportion of kitchen/service faults than at other places at WDW.

NOT a review: CA Grill Omakase

Here's a rough idea of what to expect at the new-ish chef's counter/omakase offering at CA Grill. Just the pics for now; I do have a few uninteresting thoughts/more info but I'll add them later in another post. Menu: Complimentary pour of this flavored sparkling sake, infused with...

F&W Italian Regional Food & Wine Luncheon

    - It's held 3 times a week at noon (I don't think Tutto Gusto opens before then on those days). You check in at the Tutto Italia desk. - If you're already at WDW, I had better success booking at the festival center rather than through WDW-DINE. - The winery/wines are the same for a given...

    Recent Cali Grill experience?

I don't think CA Grill has changed all that much. If you enjoyed it before, you'll probably still enjoy it. Most if not all of the signature dishes are still there. My pre-refurb experiences had been very hit or miss (and more miss than hit), so maybe they're distributing the misses more...

French Bakery for Breakfast without International Gateway?

I think it's roped off right by Chefs so you can still walk to the pavilion.

Seeking Assistance from Annual Passholder, Please

This may not be true during your trip in April. Right now you can still use your non-RFID tickets to enter the parks. You do need to bring photo ID.
