Where have all the dining options gone?

You should have seen it when things first opened after Covid....the menus were rough. I feel like Carnation Cafe hasn't really recovered yet (I'm a sucker for their breakfast and it just isn't the same with Oscar's potatoes). I do find that for sit down ressie I veer toward the higher end...

Oh my, I haven't been on here in 5 years. But the trip is planned!!! 11/10-11/13 at GCH for Dapper Days. No kids or hubby, just my Disney bestie. Doing the Holidays Tour. WOOHOO

    April 2019

We are going 4/14-4/18 eventhough I swore I would never go back at Spring Break. LOL 5 days will be plenty of time to do everything, but you may not do everything mulitple times. Make sure you're at rope drop (I'm forking down to stay onsite since that extra hour will give us sooo much! FYI...

Best way to get from LAX to Anaheim

We've done Lyft 3 times from LAX with no issues. Definitely our preference.

    April 2018 Check-In

We are also a party of 3 for Dapper Weekend. We went last year and just had to make it another girls' weekend...woohoo!!! Apr. 21-Apr. 23 staying at PPH. We're doing Afternoon Tea at DLH (we had a blast having cocktails before hand at Trader Sam's and then walking into the prim and proper...

    Here now Help! DCA

Guardians (though tomorrow will be my first time riding it), Screamin', Toy Story, Racers, Soarin'. But DCA is so spread out that I think you can ride everything at a leisurely pace. My family knows that a Disney trip is exhausting. We go hard in the morning and evening and rest in the...

    Down Town Disney

We love it!!! Our favorite is UVA Bar since everyone will eat something there. Can't go wrong with Naples, Catal, Jazz Kitchen or Tortilla Jo's. The bulk of our dinners are spent in Downtown Disney. The kids love getting a treat from Kayla's Cakes. We stay far away from Rainforest...

How is early entry at GCH now?

When we went in April it was still a better idea to go to the main gates. Especially for the fact that the security into Downtown Disney was only for GCH guests. There was never more than a few people in line. The hotel park entrance went all the way to the lobby one morning. :crazy2:

Something special for a kid-free anniversary trip?

I third the Chef's Counter at the Napa Rose. That was by far our best experience on the few no kid trips we've taken. We are big foodies, but even still, just the way you are treated (like royalty) and how long the experience is, can't be beat! I was going to suggest to share the wine flight...

Help! Paradise Pier or Courtyard Marriott Theme Park

When in doubt and money is no object, choose onsite! I love to be in the Disney bubble and will pay more for it, though I know I'm in the minority. When we stayed at PP we would only use the Grand entrance half of the time. I say the walk from PP through DD is about the same as DLH. The pool...

    Which dining should I keep?

I am the odd man out here. We LOVE to eat in Downtown Disney for dinner. For our trip we have Tortilla Jo's, Naples, Goofy's Kitchen, UVA Bar (don't take reservations but we like the outside seating and it's similar to Catal) and need one more night, probably leaning towards the Jazz Kitchen...

    DLH Pool Cabana's

We did a cabana 2 years ago and absolutely loved it! I was considering doing it again since we're staying at the Grand next week and so far the weather is looking warm. There is no room to drag another lounger as PP said they are pretty close together. The cabana next to us last time had a...

    Grand Californian entrance

We will be there in one week and I was wondering the same thing. We've always gone to the main gate...but now I'm a little torn since EMH is the same time as Disneyland opening. I'm curious how that would affect crowds. Decisions, decisions.

Extra Magic Hours on check-in day?

We have done this a bunch of times! We will check in by 6 am for a 7 am EMH and check our bags with the bellhop and be in line usually by 6:30 or 6:45. They will give you your room keys but won't divulge the room number until they are actually ready. Works like a charm.

    Cove Bar

When we went in November I figured it would open at 11:30 like Trader Sam's but that particular day it was open at 10:45 LOL. So we hustled over at 11:15 and got a table with no problem. My kids LOVED their cotton candy drinks and they were kind enough to make a cheese flatbread since I have a...

April 2017 check in thread, come in and chat!

I LOVE reading everyone's itineraries. The only thing I plan are food ressies, :mickeybar:mickeybar which is turning out to be a challenge with 8 people coming and going throughout the week. The most exciting things that happened this week is we extended our trip for one more day...that means...

Places to grab a quick dinner in DTD...

This is our favorite thing to do. UVA is #1 for us. Then we love Napolini, Jazz Kitchen Express, Tortilla Jos Taqueria, Tangora Terrace (DLH), Trader Sams, Whitewater Snacks....or if we're really lazy ice cream for a meal at Haagen Das.

Am I correct on parking / EMH when staying onsite?

You are correct. We've done it twice and will be doing again next month at Paradise Pier. We're staying one night off site and will get up and be there no later than 6 am to check in and get to EMH by 7 am. Have a wonderful time.
