I think that part of the problem is Disney isn't pulling in the crowds or money it used to. Disney learned a long time ago that pushing the idea that there wasn't a slow time anymore was a cash cow. Lower crowds/resort bookings brought staffing scalebacks, fewer cars being used for attractions...

My sister, who isn't a big Disney fan but who goes on trips with us because she loves going to Disney with my daughter, requests Storybook Dining on each trip. The food is really (genuinely) good and it's a fun group of characters and it isn't a chaotic character meal as others can be.
