My family has frequently visited the parks in December and found that the week between Christmas and New Year's Day is definitely more crowded than the week before the holidays.

We've used the holiday decorations from whatever resort we are staying at as a backdrop for Christmas picutres. Disney Springs had some new holiday decorations this year too.

The boat transportation is one of the things that makes POR special. In the past, if we were headed to the "Downtown Disney" and had limited time, the car was definitely quicker, but I agree with SRU Almn - certainly not as "magical and vacationy."

We stayed at AKL in May. The screens at the bus stops tell when your park transportation is due to arrive. Definitely a plus!

We've had success driving and arriving at opening, bringing snacks, and carrying an underwater disposable camera (do they still make them?). Some of our most fun pictures were taken on the Teamboat Springs family raft ride in Blizzard Beach.

Is this open to all Disney resort guests or only those staying at AoA?

POR is our favorite moderate resort! I've read many posts comparing POR to a deluxe resort. The grounds are beautiful, the food court has a great create-your-own-salad/pasta, and the boat transpotation to Disney Springs is a nice alternative. I consider General Fulton's the best resort gift shop!
