June 2nd, 2018 (Day 1): Leaving San Jose Int'l. airport with a stop over in Seattle, WA before landing in Vancouver, BC. It was a good morning! I woke up early ~5:30 a.m. to start packing the last of the things. I woke up DH right after even though we were not scheduled to be picked up or...

Disney Wonder Alaska Cruise June 4th to 11th, 2018

It really was one of the best trips besides the Baltic cruise. We literally packed in our days of two adventures at both ports. Back in Jan., DD15 and her BF researched and planned for 3 1/2 hours. Then, I researched and plan alternatives, because some of the DCL excursions were expensive. June...

Correct. My DH brought on a bottle of vodka and was taken away. We were allowed to pick it back up when the cruise ended.

Travel w/ Minors who are not your own Children Vancouver to US

No one saw the boarding passes near the machine. Only the person checking the bags, security, and another security agent near the machines. Both my DD18 (who looks exactly like me) and DD15 (who keeps moaning "mom") are taller than I. I didn't see the US CBP ask the other family if the children...

    NASA launch from the ship.

We saw a rocket launch back in June 2016. You will need binoculars or your camera's telephoto lense. We only saw it as it enter the sky with the rocket flames. However, it was small. It was a cloudy day, but we saw it.

Thanks for that piece of information. Did you find that on the Canadian website, because my friend and I looked through the Dept. of Homeland Security's site and did not find it nor did we find anything on the DCL website. The URL would be great so that I can submit that along with my email to...

Travel w/ Minors who are not your own Children Vancouver to US

My DH and I thought it was a great idea, but slowly decided after being soaked, it was a not-so-good idea. Yes, my DD15's best-friend's mom was shocked to say the least, because she and I read all the documents to make sure that her daughter could travel with us. As for the US Customs at YVR...

Travel w/ Minors who are not your own Children Vancouver to US

Right!?! When we finally sat down near our gate, my DH tried to make a joke of the situation: "Well, if they won't let DD15's best-friend through immigration, they might have to deport her . Get it, deport her back home to California (USA), get a free trip back." I didn't find that...

Multiple Port Excursions in One Day

Me, too! Last week when we visited, we appreciated how the owners had families who were helping run the other stores. They gave me more information about growing up in Skagway and living there. Here's the article that I read so that it's easier for those that would like to read the...

We just returned from the Disney Wonder Alaskan cruise June 4th to 11th, 2018. We did two excursions each port (Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan). We ran a tight schedule, but we booked DCL excursions; then, booked DYI excursions through private operators including DYI walking around town. However...

hotel and cab info for alaska cruise

We just returned from the June 4th to 11th, 2018 Alaskan cruise and staying in Vancouver until the 13th. We used the SkyTrain to the Vancouver City Center; then, took a bus to the hotel. I highly recommend using this instead of the taxi which is normally little Priuses. Then, we booked Excel...
