Critique my Trip? EDIT 6/11: Post-trip Update Post 24

the HIE&S was definitely worth it. Valet parking was the same price as self-parking, they allow you to pay for an extra day of parking and leave your vehicle there all day on day of check-out, breakfast was good, rooms were nice. Small pool, but we didn't even use it. The people there were all...

Disney World veteran visiting Disneyland with wuesrions

I can't speak to 1-3, but we are WDW vets who just got back and here's my answers for 4 and 5: 4. YES! We had one day without MM and one day with and with was so much better. We did all of Fantasyland (except Peter Pan) and Buzz Lightyear twice in that hour. I was with my 3-year-old, so we...

Critique my Trip? EDIT 6/11: Post-trip Update Post 24

So, quick post-trip update/mini trip report. Overall, our trip went mostly as planned and was tiring, but was a lot of fun. We all had a great time and really enjoyed seeing the Central and Southern California coasts. Sat, June 2: Fly into San Francisco, staying that night in San Jose/Morgan...

    Park Security/Stroller Question

Yup. Though, my husband won't get in an entrance line without me, he will scope them out and then we don't have to all stop and decide which line to join, he's already decided and we just go. It also, at least in my experience at WDW, makes the bag check lines a little smoother when the people...

    Logistics of park hopping.

I have a set of clear Badge Holders (like this: Rainbow Color Waterproof Badge Holders). The tickets fit inside them, but can they be scanned through holders like this, or will I need to pull the ticket out of the holder to scan every time?

    Park Security/Stroller Question

Thanks everyone! So we'll just plan that I'll take the stroller and bag and husband and other kid will go through the no-bag line. Saves me some decision-making when we arrive, trying to figure out what we should do!

    Park Security/Stroller Question

TL;DR - If you have a stroller with no bags in/on it, can you take it through the no bag line (assuming there is one available) or do you have to take it through the bag line? Longer version - We are WDW vets and we always took everything but the kid off the stroller and my husband would take...

Me too! I'm bummed about that - I was really looking forward to Hyperspace Mtn.

Maybe a silly question, but.... we got paper tickets in the mail. There's a line on the back that says "Print Name" or something similar but I have heard people on here talk about signing their tickets. Do we need to sign them, or just write our names on them? (Sorry - I said its silly, but I'm...

16 days until our SoCal trip starts and 19 days until DLR! We're very excited, but as a WDW vet, I'm really feeling like I haven't planned it out enough at this point. We have no dining reservations, no set/specific touring plan, no fastpasses booked - I don't know what to do with myself!! But...

Critique my Trip? EDIT 6/11: Post-trip Update Post 24

Our hotels are primarily determined by our IHG rewards points and Carlsbad is less points than San Diego or Anaheim, which is why we're still doing 2 nights there. :) The Hotel del Coronado is our one hotel splurge for the week!

Critique my Trip? EDIT 6/11: Post-trip Update Post 24

Okay, after reading everyone's advice and looking through things again, we decided to assume that we will be back to California in the future and to not try to do everything. So, below is our modified tentative schedule. Better? We're still doing a lot, but less than I was originally thinking...

Critique my Trip? EDIT 6/11: Post-trip Update Post 24

Wow, lots of good comments - thank you everyone. Seems like we may be trying to squeeze in too much? We’ll look things over and adjust and I’ll update and see if it’s better! We do have two kids, 7 and 3, but they are used to car rides. We routinely go 500 miles one way for a long weekend to...

We're doing a Southern California Trip June 2-10 with Wednesday, June 6 and Thursday, June 7 at DLR. We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites. We've never been to SoCal or DLR before, so this will be exciting for all of us. I have 3 and 7 year-old boys. Any tips for restaurants for...

Choosing the Right DLR Area Hotel for You

We're staying at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites on South Manchester. I was just wondering about the walking route from there to the park gates. Would we have to go up to West Manchester or does anyone know if there a walkway to cut through between the Courtyard Waterpark Hotel and the...

Sharpie design on coffee mugs...what is the secret?

Oil-based sharpies are the way to go, but even after using them and baking, the design will come off with heavy scrubbing or repeated dishwasher/sanitizer use. If they are gently handwashed, the design will stay on for quite a while.

What motel/hotel did you last stay? Did you like it a lot?

Embassy Suites in Schaumburg, IL. And we will never stay there again - certainly not that specific hotel and possibly not the chain in general. -We witnessed a confrontation in during evening social hour that was a hair away from turning violent. Obviously the confrontation was not the hotel's...

    Words you trivially dislike

I know an IT person who types it as "pooter" (in a non-professional setting, Facebook, whatever) and I cringe so hard. It hurts my brain.

    Mirena Users: Experiences, please

I'm on my second Mirena and I love it. I got the first when my oldest was 10 months old, had it taken out when we wanted a second kid and had the second inserted at my 6-week checkup after my second was born. I don't have periods, just occasional spotting (very occasional). For insertion, I took...
