    Advice about Summer 2021 Dates

Hi there It's helpful to factor in annual pass info here. On our last 4 July visit (two years ago) it was better on 4 July than on some other days due to blockouts. Otherwise, do take advantage of early starts and max pass as it is a busy time. Trade off - there's always lots to do and see in...

Help me calibrate my reasonableness meter

Sure! Disney sells decorative pins (like badges) designed around characters or rides. They also sell lanyards that you can attach them to, and sometimes you can buy starter sets of lanyards with a few pins.As I recall they are reasonably priced. Now the deal is you can swap your pins with any...

Help me calibrate my reasonableness meter

We took a 5 year old and a 7 year old on our first trip. We had no issues with a full day, but we did have rest break (they did not sleep), and did not do evenings, just late afternoons.Mornings tended to be structured, pms more free flow. We did not use a stroller (no self respecting 5 year old...

    Best seats on Soarin’

I agree! Even in the centre the images can look a bit distorted. I have no idea what made them go for so many shots featuring tall straight buildings given the screen. And frankly it's just not as enjoyable as the old version anyway. Just feels contrived. Any way... at least they kept...

GCH...not so 'premium' view rooms!!! A happy ending!

Well...some Disney magic. The hotel's general manager reached out which was very impressive. I explained we had already sorted things out, but that i had concerns about how the rooms were being categorised. He explained they were about to do a reassessment which they do regularly and would pay...

    Grand Californian Super Thread

Let me make your day by letting you know we were given these rooms (one floor down) as PREMIUM rooms..... (See my separate thread). I like them a lot too, but not paying premium prices for them. Room 4438 is a PV, next door, Room 4436 is a woods view rate. Same view, but a lot cheaper.

GCH...not so 'premium' view rooms!!! A happy ending!

Checked into GCH today, having booked two rooms...a courtyard/woods view and a premium view (either pool or park). Imagine our surprise to find the two room types were NEXT DOOR to each other! Here are two pictures taken from the same spot in each room... see if you can guess which the...

Getting from Santa Monica hotel to Disneyland return

I'd second the Tortilla Joe's suggestion... booked in next Wednesday :flower1: We also like Rancho de zocalo by BTMR (one vegetarian in the family...) Remember there are meal+ show deals too. It's possible WOC might be on during your dates, or Frozen, in which case you can buy a lunch or dinner...

Getting from Santa Monica hotel to Disneyland return

Hehehe I'm in the minority here!:rotfl: OP makes really good points too! Just FYI , you may have this covered, but if you want any tips on what to do in SM ask away. (My sister lived there for years). We actually did New Year's there a couple of years ago. We struck the 'marine layer' ...better...

Getting from Santa Monica hotel to Disneyland return

I had a quick look at the refurbs too.... they vary quite a bit! The rides don't seem too bad, but yes the entertainment does get a bit quiet. Good luck with your planning!
