Gyms in the time of COVID

Our gym has decided to stay closed for good. :( The other choice nearby does not have a pool or steam room (that DH likes) and we would need to make an appointment before going there. Maybe we will stick with the on-line workouts for now.

Has anyone else done quarantine bread making?

The first week of the quarantine there was no bread to be found in the stores, so I broke out my bread maker (hadn't used it in years!) That first week I managed to stock up on regular and wheat flour and yeast, so we've had bread ever since. Only failure was bagels.....flat as pancakes!

I ordered Kleenex from Amazon Prime on Monday and I still don't have a delivery date. What have you had to cancel due to Coronavirus?

DH's (elective) hip replacement is on hold. Gyms are all closed. I cancelled two doctors appointments and my hairdresser. DH likely won't be traveling to New York in April to testify at a trial. We're still deciding on a summer trip to the Grand canyon.

How is everything affecting you personally? Making changes? Status quo? Too soon to tell?

Both of my DD's work in industries adversely affected by the virus restrictions and their employers have started cutbacks. So they may face lay-offs soon if this doesn't turn around, and DH and I won't be able to help out as much as we would like because we're retired and out IRA accounts have...

    Coronavirus and Anxiety

I wasn't too worried until this morning. DH was at the gym and an acquaintance came up to him and started telling him how she just retuened from 2 weeks in Greece yesterday. Instead of staying home, she decided it made sense to spread possible contageon around the gym. Incredible!

Normal dinnertime is 6:30. Holidays maybe an hour earlier, but yesterday we ate at 2:30 so we would be done before watching our Bills destroy the Cowboys! Yay!

    Your earliest memory?

I think I was around 3. It was a warm summer day and I was in the yard while Mom hung out laundry. I remember curling up on top of the dry clothes in the basket and falling asleep. I can still smell that clean, fresh smell!

    Snow tires anyone?

I lived for 69 of my 71 years in upstate New York, which averaged 200 inches of snow. We lived in a rural area, and I drove 1 hour each way to work. An AWD car with 4 good snow tires kept me alive!
