    London and Paris Hotel Suggestions?

Thank you all very much for the ideas. I will do some more poking around on the internet using this info. I'd like to go a bit above a hostel--this is my 40th birthday trip. I've stayed in MANY European hostels over the years, especially traveling with my mother when I was a child. This trip...

    London and Paris Hotel Suggestions?

We are a family of four (children will be 12 and 14) and will be visiting Disneyland Paris in the middle of a spring break trip to London and Paris at the beginning of April. Any suggestions on budget friendly places to stay in either city? Unfortunately our trip isn't as long as I wish it...

    Disneyland Paris trip video

OMG, I loved loved LOVED your entire video! We are looking into the exact same trip right now--right down to debating whether or not to do the stopover in Iceland. We *want* to do it, but it would mean missing a bit of school. Can you share your itinerary? It looks absolutely perfect in...

Tell me about Mickey's Fun Wheel

We call it Mickey's Wheel of Death. You're way up high in a giant chicken coop--everything is encased in wire mesh...there is nothing scenic or nice about it, it is a giant cage. Yuck. No way would I do a swinging one. Then again, I have no intention of ever riding Mickey's Wheel of Death...

    Autograph Question

I agree. That was the point of my post.

    Autograph Question

We brought an anchor to be signed, other people have brought photo mats, their children's initials, etc...none of which are Disney branded. I've seen tote bags, white Converse, aprons, dinner plates--loads of different things...none Disney branded.

St. Thomas Port, any restaurants near port?

Oh, I almost forgot! We did get frozen yogurt in St. Thomas and it was AMAZING! It was from a place called Yogen Fruz (which apparently is a chain--but we had never heard of it.) It was fresh and you could pick the fruit you wanted blended into the fro yo. So yummy!! We were looking for an...

St. Thomas Port, any restaurants near port?

The butterfly gardens are a quick walk from the ship--maybe 5-10 minutes. The walk is kind of away from the downtown/shops area though. We did a morning excursion, ate lunch on the ship, and then walked to the butterfly garden. We loved it! Run by locals, loads of butterflys, and we saw...

Is Ariel always one of the princesses on the ships during the princess gathering for pictures?

Ariel was not on the Magic last April--we were disappointed!

    Steak and potatoes only

On our first Disney cruise I literally ordered a steak and baked potato every night except for the night I didn't order a main course because I was so tired of eating steak and baked potato. Yes, it is very possible to order this meal!

Alaskan Cruise - Things to do in port?

In Ketchikan we booked the lumberjack show independent of DCL--same show, seated right next to DCL guests, and we paid less. I'm not sure how it works now, but I appreciated paying less money than the official excursion! It was an easy walk from the ship and my kiddos LOVED the show. After...

Back 2 Back Cruises from Different Ports???

I thought about doing it in April 2018--but I think it was Wonder and Magic. Anyhow, I decided against it because driving between Miami and Port Canaveral just didn't sound like fun in the middle of a cruise. I'd rather just get back on the ship as quickly as possible. Part of the fun of a...

Taking our first 7-night cruise what to wear on formal night?

Thank you! Just be aware, the brand runs REALLY long! I'm 5'10" and the dress still was long on me--I was wearing 3.5 inch wedges and it still was floor length! My poor feet were so swollen and I could barely get my shoes on, but I had no choice--I would have fallen on my face because of...

    Alaska cruise experience requested

We loved it when DCL cruised out of Seattle--we were on that cruise in 2012 and keep hoping they will do it again...sadly it hasn't happened again.

    Need oceaneers club suggestions...

No, they do not allow the older ones to go into the club during the closed programming hours. Maybe try having them go in together during the Open House hours. Then your 4 year old can see if she likes the Club.

Is clothing required on your verandah?

We were on the Magic and when we were docked in Tortola there was a German (I think it was German) cruise ship across the pier from us. There were PLENTY of passengers on that ship who were starkers on their verandah while enjoying their coffee and other pursuits. They really didn't care that...

Taking our first 7-night cruise what to wear on formal night?

My dress hardly took up any room in my suitcase and I still was dressed up (its a full length Eliza J dress from Nordstrom) and my husband is wearing a sports jacket over his khakis with a tie.

    Snorkeling at Rainbow Reef Lagoon

Yes, the water is COLD! They let my son test the temp of the water. He got ankle deep in the water and immediately decided there was NO way he was going to go any farther than that!

How many days for both parks?

I would do 3 days--4 days max (because of the hot weather). We had a 5 day Park Hopper last week and, honestly, it was too much. I can't believe I'm saying that, but it was. We did 20,000+ steps each day and were go-go-go and I really think that the last day we were running out of things to...

Early vs late Plaza Inn Minnie breakfast

We like the later time and we do it on a Magic Mornign day. We take advantage of low crowds in the park and go on a bunch of rides--then head to the Plaza Inn as the park starts to get busy. Then we eat a leisurely meal at Minnie's and see loads of characters. We just did this last week and...
