Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Wow, this was more than I was expecting. There was one more on Instagram with a closet. It’s been too long since I was at AKL. Is that that same as before?

Thank you! I will check all these out when we go in May and will hopefully have some good experiences to report back.

Give Me Your "Don't Miss" List for a WDW Family

Looking at both parks with all ages, I would say: 1. Storybookland Canal boats - so cute for little kids 2. Pirates of the Caribbean - much better ride in DL 3. IASW - character additions make this a different ride than WDW 4. Mr. Toad or other dark rides 5. Monsters, Inc.

    Annual Pass discount on Restaurants

We had a party of 10 and received the discount with no problem. The key is one payment method, so I used my pass and my card to pay for everyone, then we worked out later.

    Personalized Menus

We are going to WDW to celebrate our anniversary. When we went for our honeymoon (many, many years ago), we received a menu with our names on it, saying congratulations. Do any restaurants still do this? If so, which ones? Thanks!

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

Thanks. Still trying to figure out where those cabana/shade structures are, if anyone knows. If not, we will just plan to head straight for a bunch of chairs under umbrellas in the morning.

    VOLCANO BAY.....INFO AND QUESTION THREAD........

I have seen mention of free cabanas/umbrella areas but can’t seem to find details. Are these actual cabanas or large umbrellas or shaded areas or what? Could we snag one at EE opening? We are going in mid-May on weekdays, so hoping it won’t be too busy. We are not looking for any amenities like...

Do I need the dining plan?

Do only the drinks count or do breakfast sandwiches and pastries?

Meal to 3 snack conversion locations?

That’s what I was afraid of. We may try it out and see what they say to us. The worst they can say is no and we stick with original plan. More snacks instead of QS (not big QS people) would just be great during F&G.

Meal to 3 snack conversion locations?

Not the OP, but here is where I read that. Anyone have experience doing this at hotel front desk? https://disneyparksmomspanel.disney.go.com/question/trade-quick-service-meal-dining-plan-snacks-379074/

    California Grill Brunch?

Thanks for the quick response. In all honesty, he would probably prefer the sparking wine on its own. He is well known for the mimosas he makes having very, very little oj. :rotfl:

    California Grill Brunch?

Looking for clarification on the mimosa/boba thing. All the reviews/photos I have seen are regular oj version, but have they completely changed that now? Wouldn’t change plans - just wondering as DH is not a boba fan.

Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Savanna View Weirdest thing, though. I just went to look at my reservation bc we were thinking of adding in a day, and the Sun/Fun offer was available now for even less for the 2 Queens Savanna, so I switched back to it. Clearly, a sign we should add a night since I have saved so much. :rotfl...

Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

I have a question about bunk bed rooms in Savanna View that I haven’t been able to find an answer to despite searching. When the spring/summer deal was announced, we changed our room type from 2 Queens to 1 Queen/Bunk since it was significantly cheaper. There is just my husband and me, but I am...

San Diego: Catamaran Resort or Best Western Island Palms? Other?

If you are interested in going to the beach, I would second Catamaran. Much easier because you are right there. The Bahia and The Dana are good options in the area, as is the Hilton someone suggested earlier.

    How does this itinerary sound?

Glad someone warned you on the traffic. I live fairly close to SD airport, so I have rarely made it to or from LA in 2.5 hours. I would actually say your Day 5 may be light. Depending on what time the Padres game is (and if you are staying close to downtown), the Midway doesn’t take more than...

Are there any good restaurants outside Disneyland?

I second Fire & Ice - it’s good and appeals to almost everyone since you can choose your own ingredients and cuisine style. As far as others, it’s a question of how far outside Disneyland you are willing to go. In the immediate vicinity, it is mostly Gardenwalk and strip mall food. If you are...

Savor the Savanna vs. Wild Animal Trek - Better for Photography

I have seen several threads about this but none that address my question. We are going to SWS in May and are trying to decide which tour to take. My husband is a photographer, and this is one of the few theme park places where he definitely wants to have his camera to take photos. Years ago on...
