OKW Extension Papers & Lockout Mentioned

I don't understand that. $15 for 15 additional years seems like a bargain today, and even in 2007, DVC was selling for around $100 a point or $2 / year versus the $1/ year for the extension. Certainly I understand why some owners wouldn't have done it because of their age in 2042 at the end of...

    Spontaneity and DVC ownership

One thing you should be aware of - at the 7 month advance mark, all direct DVC points are the same. Resale points for the MOST of the resale resorts are also the same, except for Riviera, Disneyland Hotel, and now the Cabins. Most resorts if they don't book up before 7 months will book up...

Breakdown of DVC rooms by type/resort

Yeah, after Boardwalk they never did it again except for AK Jambo, but Kidani has dedicated 2-bedrooms. Having all 2-bedrooms as lock-offs really kind of stinks.

Breakdown of DVC rooms by type/resort

Boardwalk Standard View Studios are a 11-month must and even at 11-months you will find it impossible to book one in Sept-Dec even at 11-months 8 AM. (I tried this past year and never was able to get it so had to go with a G/P view.) If it's one bedrooms you want they are much easier to get at...

If you were to choose, WHICH view is worth the points? BLT theme park or Boardwalk?

BLT theme park is >> Boardwalk view for the fireworks only. While you have a somewhat restricted view of EPCOT fireworks, the fireworks from MK is totally worth it.

February direct sales but also debate about trusts

An honestly that number is probably the high end when you are making 350 identical ones.

February direct sales but also debate about trusts

But cash guests is still not the cost model for DVC. DVC makes 25 times the money on a room that a cash guest pays, they just make it all up front. It never felt like they should be satisfied with poor sales. Aulani happened that way but a bunch of people got fired over Aulani and they have...

Unique timed processes of the waitlist

Agree with @KAT4DISNEY, the workings of the DVC waitlist is a complete mystery. I have had stalking the website work over the waitlist and I have had waitlists also work over stalking. So who the heck knows. I think it's clear to say that they don't generally pull rooms to waitlists instantly...

At what ppp does HHI become a viable option despite the high annual dues?

IMO opinion there's two reasons to buy at a resort - (1) you want to stay there specifically and (2) you want a good value on points that you can use anywhere. In the cases of HHI #1 is a valid reason to buy a contract there, even if you are not going to use it exclusively at HHI, if it's your...

February direct sales but also debate about trusts

I've always thought that the Cabins may be showing a different plan for DVC. Not typical at all,. but these cabins have always been sold out via cash sales. Perhaps DVC knows that sales are going to be ****, but is willing to take the cash sales. I mean, it's the antithesis of what DVC is about...

Making a Low Offer on a "Only Full Asking Price Will Be Accepted" contract???

Probably already been said: why would you bother? That's there because the seller wants it there. The broker isn't even going to pass your offer on. Your only going to succeed at annoying the broker for making an offer they can't pass on. Leave it be and look for another contract.

    Favorite DVC Resort

I've stayed at both and we vastly prefer Jambo just because of the food services at Jambo vs Kidani, but we typically stay in studios. We had a car and a 2-bedroom at Kidani in 2022 and we were perfectly happy, but in a studio give me Jambo 10 out of 10 times.

    Favorite DVC Resort

#1 Boardwalk is favorite - the atmosphere of the Boardwalk itself, location to Epcot for Food and Wine festival, and Jellyrolls! 2nd is probably Poly cause I just like the vibe and easy access to both MK and Epcot (via walk to TTC). Walking around the resort feels the least like I'm at Disney...

    Pemba Savannah

Pemba is only disappointing if you feel a lack of giraffes will make it a disappointment. It's the only Savannah with Okapi, and our daughter loved Okapi when she was little so it was a great treat when we recently had a room on Pemba. However, if you want giraffes, be sure to request the main...

Probability of BCV or BWV February 2025 and SSR 1 bedroom Question

I'm going to agree with the more recent posts. Presidents week is very popular, and it's also the Princess 1/2 marathon week as well. I think you'll find it difficult to get 3-4 nights at Boardwalk even in a 1-bedroom. (Which are a lot easier than the studios.) Not sure why but Boardwalks been...

Buy a small contract or OTUP?

Some rental places will also do transfers as well. You are only allowed one transfer per use year per membership, but I've rented out points this way through The DVC store/Timeshare store a few times. You can go to their website and its under point rentals as "Member to Member Transfers" I...

Buy a small contract or OTUP?

Rent/transfer points instead of getting OTUP. They're about the same price and you can get them at the resort you want to stay at so you can use them before 7 months.

Buy a small contract or OTUP?

two different UY means two different accounts, so yes you can buy 24 OTU points for each account. However, you cannot combine those OTUP on the same reservation or even transfer them between accounts, so as long as you are using them on two separate bookings, you should be perfectly fine.

Buy a small contract or OTUP?

if your buying OTUP every year you are certainly better off buying a contract. Those points are costing you $20 a year versus buying a small SSR contract (Since if you are using OTUP you don't even need home resort advantage) and the points will only cost you like $12 a point with the buy-in...

    Cash stay and DVC stay

That's a hard no. It's basically like you are booked at two different hotels. Unfortunately they cannot be combined.
