Nov 21st. By Myself. My wife will be taking a Disney Institute Class that day, so I am planning to rope drop GE. My hope is that it is far enough away from opening and from ROTR that crowds will be manageable. I haven't been this excited for something new at DW in a long time.

So, I was under the impression that Disney takes at least 30 days and as much as 60 to exercise their ROFR, but reading the thread here, it looks like about 2 weeks. Is that the case?

We really wanted to own at the Riviera. But didn't want to go overboard. I assume we'll be buying smaller point contracts in the next few years at a few resorts with the same year. And we didn't buy any other direct because the price per point was SO MUCH HIGHER than any of the resale sites.

If we bought into 2 home resorts, but the points on one do not become available until 12 months from now, could we still book 11 months out with the points from the other purchase? Does that make sense, because I may have just confused myself.

We are taking it easy, and aren't just using the HEL on DVC. We have home improvements, and a kid entering art school too. We are soaking up all the info we can, and these boards , as always, have been remarkably helpful

We plan on going in late Jan/early Feb for a full week with the whole crew and probably a 4 or 5 day every fall, just the 2 of us. We’ve stayed and loved numerous resorts: AKL, GF, BW, Poly are our favorite. I was basing 300 on the Riviera points and one of the above resorts each year

The room did have 2 queens and a daybed, and the evening apps were certainly suitable for a light dinner. It changed every night, but in addition to sandwiches, fruit, veggies, hummus, and stuff, there were at least 2 hot items cooked in the lounge by a chef from the Flying Fish.

We didn't have to go to the bakery for the reasons you mentioned, but I was pointing this out as a flaw for those not staying club level.
