Walker rental or purchase at WDW

Yes, that is exactly it. I drop the scooter off where they drop off strollers, right by the aircraft door. In the past I just caned it onto the aircraft from there. I may have to use my walker to get to my seat, I was hoping to find a different way, just because of all the stuff we already have...

Walker rental or purchase at WDW

Well, it finally happened. I now need to use a walker just to get around the house. We have a trip to WDW coming up and we will be staying at OKW in a one bedroom. I use an EVC (Go Go Sport) when I go out to anywhere and I take it with me to WDW. But I can’t use the scooter in the room and...

    go-go sport scooter

I use a Go Go Sport all the time. I live close to Disneyland and use it there. I travel with my Go Go Sport and use it at WDW. Battery life is pretty good, I usually get at least 4 to 6 miles, depending on hills (yes, there are hills in the parks). For me this equates to 4 to 6 hours of use...

Anniversary trip! Critique my plans please!

There can never be too much EPCOT time. We are DVC and have been going since 1994 once or twice a year. On 5 day trips we spend part of 4 1/2 days in EPCOT and on 12 day trips we spend 11 days in EPCOT. Just MHO, YMMV, Andy D

    ECV break down in park

Yes they can, here at Disneyland they do things above and beyond all the time. It's called good customer service. It's called "Disney quality of service". I am extremely disappointed to hear of the service the OP received. I just hope I never breakdown in FL. Andy

    ECV break down in park

The service from Guest Services is very disappointing, here in CA I have had much better service when I've had a breakdown. Makes me hope I never breakdown in WDW! Andy D

    ECV break down in park

Here in Disneyland they have chargers for all models of scooters, maybe that will get you back to your resort, or Guest services will probably help you back to your resort. If you battery is done for, there are several scooter companys that rent on site and can probably sell you a new battery...

    Christmas at Disney with Cancer

Wow! I cannot imagine how anyone can go to Disney while in Chemo! While I was in Chemo I could not eat very much at all, it all tasted awful. Also my energy was nonexistant. I went no where except medical. Well, my body flunked out of Chemo, I spent a week in the hospital and another 6 weeks in...

    ECV with Uber or Lyft?

It does sound like a little work, but the question is will they allow it? I understand that there are only four (4) accessible Minnie Vans, and it can take up to 40 minutes or more to get one. What I will be attempting to do is to reduce my transportation wait time. On my last visit because...

    ECV with Uber or Lyft?

This post may be in the wrong place, sorry. I just noticed that this thread is about Uber and Lyft, my question is only about the WDW Minnie Van service. I have heard that the wait for an accessible Minnie Van can be significant, upwards to 40 minutes. I am wondering if the Minnie Van service...

    What do you do?

And you are right, a person on an ECV can cause more damage, but if the walker causes the person on the ECV to fall, well, most of us on ECVs are older and a even minor fall creates major lifelong damage. Think about that when injuring an older person. Good luck with you attitude on crosswalks...

    What do you do?

I don't subscribe to the wheelchair, scooter bound as being in "vehicles", just different legs. If iit is like a "minimobile", does that mean that the person who steps in front has no responsibility to watch where they are going? A real life example, Should a person do a traffic check when at...

    What do you do?

What do you do? It seems that Disney parks are getting more and more crowded. I use a scooter to get around, I have not been able to "walk the parks" since 2003. It seems that no matter where I go or how careful I am, it has become more difficult. But I take my responsibility to be safe very...

Before zipping around in a scooter

I just have to avoid MK in the evenings and when extremely crowded. On my scooter I was once surrounded by a mob and being at the level I was I was hard to breathe, I just had to get out of there, I found the first CM I could and asked for help exiting the park. I was never so happy to be out...

Before zipping around in a scooter

Did that once. Not a pretty sight, deleted the video never to be seen again. But I hope you have fun making the video anyway. Publish it on YouTube, it will be interesting. ANdy

Before zipping around in a scooter

I know what you mean about people jumping in front of you, if they would wait just 10 seconds until I pass it would be safer for all. I just figure they did not see me because I don't want to believe that people would behave as some do. I often feel very out if place... Either people don't...

Before zipping around in a scooter

I wrote a rather lengthly essay a few years ago (with a recent update) about the subject of using a scooter at WDW. Seems it is still relevant today. If you want to read it it is located at http://www.anaheimtoorlando.com/scooter.html I hope you enjoy and those who are new to scooters and old...

When going solo do you rely only on Disney transportation or rent a car?

One of the reasons I go to WDW is that I do not have to drive. Any other place we go I am not really on vacation because I still have to drive. I only use WDW transportation or I use a taxi if time critical or when going to church. Andy

WDW for Couples - Post your questions and suggestions here!!!

What is "The hub to the empty nesters?" Yep, I hope to see you on a bench in EPCOT someday, BTW, I am a big guy but I still have hair and never worked for the government. But I'll visit on a bench anyway.. Andy D
