This was our morning to get a boarding group.
Woke up at 4:30 am...jet lagged still from our Mondau-Tuesday red eye flight from California.
Left Coronado springs via Uber at 5:20am. Got to HS at 5:35.
Security was easy. Stayed to the right of the gates.
They let us in about 6:20ish. The tapping heads weren't working so they used ipads. I'm glad we were towards the front since we got in within a few minutes.
Sat in the store at the front of the park to stay warm.
Turned Wifi off on my phone. Closed down all of my apps. Cleared history, cache, cookies, etc. (I have an iphone XR on Verizon LTE data)
Opened WDW app at 6:59.
Hit Find out More at 7...Join boarding group didn't light up (yikes). Hit my status and joined boarding group there.
Secured group 18.
Screen shotted it since I am paranoid lol
Got our call back around 9:50 while were were in the Walt Disney show
Left Walt Disney show to the ROTR. Broke down so they told us to come back
Didn't ride until about 12:30
Left HS at 2:00 after slinky dog was back

Got back to Hotel and crashed until 7pm lol Now we are wide awake.

Ride was awesome. Although it was worth it to get up early this once, I don't think I'll do this ride again until there are normal line procedures. lol

...oh spit. I could swear tomorrow was an 8am opening. It’s 7 now. I’m so tired.
Maybe I’ll just do the whole day at Epcot instead, get an early night, and lean on luck Friday ...

Parked at 6:00 a.m. Through no-bag security with 2-minute wait, because someone was held briefly for alerting the scanner. Tapstile queue started moving at 6:15; in the park at 6:25. Wind is mostly gone and temp will be much improved today...hopefully foreshadowing for BG success.

Out of curiosity, if part of the ride is not working, does Disney inform guests that they are only experiencing part of the ride? Or is this a case where those of us going in spoiler free would not know we missed anything until reading a full recap of the ride after the fact? I would be very unhappy to wait all that time and only get a partial experience, and I do not blame anyone at all if they are unhappy.

Our group were among those yesterday who did not get to experience the "full" ride. We were not told that parts were not working and that we would not be getting the "full experience."

Everyone in my group went in basically spoiler free, however I have not been able to avoid at least some spoilers. I picked up pretty quickly that we were not experiencing everything, but tried to push that out of my mind. The way it was cut, the story we were supposed to experience made very little sense. Many of those in my group left feeling underwhelmed by the experience. I am quite disappointed, actually, as I feel that I was robbed of my first ROTR experience after exercising every ounce of self-control to not learn everything in advance.

After 6 days of being int the parks, and the 14 solid hours yesterday that ended with a promise of FP to ROTR the following day (our long queue after being called at hour 12 for ROTR ended with us being shuttled away outside due to a ride breakdown), I could not raise the sore and tired 6 year old for another early day to try and make this ride. Has anyone else been through the experience of offered Fast Passes for their group? I got 4 different answers from 4 different cast members last night. Does the Fast Pass actually get us back in queue for ROTR? We had another park planned for today (with reservations, FPs, etc). One CM told us that we would have to be at the park at opening to get on the ride. Another told us we could go in another day or so.
We are SO done in after yesterday - still have to pack and check-out before we leave for the parks - and then hop mid-day to go to HS....again.

You can use the FP at anytime to ride. You'll go to the CM on the side of the ride and let them know you have a recovery FP. As long as the ride is up then you'll get to go on through the FP line.

We had this happen January 3. We were told to arrive at our convenience the next day. Escorted into an area separate from the boarding group staging area. Taken immediately into the ride. No wait at all. Experience took thirty minutes from entering ride area to exit. Good luck. I’m actually glad it worked out this way for us as it seems the boarding groups can still involve a significant wait.
