Went on the 16th, got there around 6 am, opened My Disney Experience at 7 sharp, joined a boarding group at 7:01. We were assigned boarding group 33. Ride was down until about 9:15 that morning, our boarding group was called around 10:40 am, got on the ride around 11:15ish. Whole process was pretty smooth! One tip we heard from a cast member, use 4G vs the wifi, sometimes the wifi gets overwhelmed.

Did WDW send all their best ROTR technicians to Disneyland for their opening?
Not hardly!! Today was a terrible day at DLR as well. Only on 66 and it is only 6pm there. We were in line for almost 3 hours Sunday during a break down at DL and they would not let us get a FP and return that entire time until almost the 3 hour mark of being in line. No bananas, water, etc at all. No CMs came down the line at all. So if they did send the best technicians to DLR, you can have them back!!! :crazy2::crazy2:

At the park at 6:40. Tapped in at 7:02. BG 70. Got called at 6:04 p.m. Headed to the ride at 6:30. In line for just over an hour, then the que started up again to lead us directly outside to a line of CMs offering passes and park tickets for the next day. The poor kiddo in front of us started crying as this was their family's only day at the park :-(

“That boy is our last hope”...
“No, there is another.”
On a serious note. It might just be time for the chart to be retired. I think we have a good sense of what a good and bad day looks like. We know that being there prior to open is super important and that on the busiest days, regular BGs will get grabbed in a minute or less. It’s served its purpose for how to plan your morning.

But I also know that people with Feb and Mar trips may continue to be interested in the data. I’d be happy to update it when I get back on 2/2 if somebody wants to PM me all of the data elements while I’m gone so I don’t have to comb the thread for info.

Or... there could just be a gap in the data during the time you're gone. :duck:

Arrived in uber at 6:01. Had a good few bags to get through. Stayed right like advised here. There were long straight qs and eventually cast members told guests at back to move down the centers which was a little off putting. Q opened at 6:30, we got through at 6:36 and held opposite Indiana Jones from 6:44. Once walking to ge I stayed right again and we joined the actual q around droid depot. Basically kept walking till the ride
Oh, this is if you want to go to MFSR? I was getting confused. I don't want to go there, so can I just go elsewhere? And where are people stopping to look at their phones for a BG....is everyone jamming up the walkways?

I don’t mind updating it for a week. I’ve been posting the DL chart the last couple days with dina444444 away at WDW.

This was in response to my specific question about what time this person arrived to get to ride MFSR with a minimal wait. (Checkout the context of the comment and quoted messages)

I can assure you that you aren’t held hostage and forced to walk to MFSR at rope drop 🤣 🤣

And as to your last question...that’s simply not happening. Just get your BG and then move on to your destination.

2 down days in a row...

If the trend continues tomorrow, I think early-mid February will go to a 7 am opening.
We'll be there in March and I'm hoping they open at 7am then too. Even though I HATE getting up early, I'm counting on other vacationers to sleep in! We don't really RD anymore, now that my kids are older. But when we there in October for the 6am openings, it was amazing what all we were able to accomplish. It was totally worth dragging myself out of bed! This time it's not about riding a bunch of rides. Now it's all about getting a BG, since it's our only option.

Hey guys, it's Florida. If you take a vacation there, you have got to pretty much expect you will get rained on at some point. Even in their "dry season."

Nov-Jan usually has very little rain, but we never go a whole month without rain, unless we’re in a drought. Summer rain tends to be with lightening, brief but very high volume, and in the afternoon. Winter tends to be no lightening and more of a steady rain for a longer time. This winter has been strange though. There were a few weeks recently where every time the ground was nearly dry, it rained again.

But yes, remember WDW is in the middle of a near sub-tropical environment in the middle of a skinny peninsula. Rain happens.

I think it’s not really a big deal if issues like this happened the first 2 weeks the ride was open. However, the ride’s performance is getting worse! I know this has got to be a huge concern for Disney execs. I just think if the ride’s performance does not improve, you will start to see changes in how they do things with the ride. However, the ride has proven that it can run “ok” for long periods of time. So hope is there!

If you get a FastPass to ride RotR on another day, can you still get a boarding group that day and ride it twice in one day?
