Gallaxy Edge Needs A Child Ride.

Smugglers Run is good. Rise of the Resistence is spectacular.

However, as the title suggests, I believe we need a ride without a height requirement that the whole family can do. Something inexpensive to create but fun.

Here is my proposal. And this idea goes against what I typically would recomend.

Lets get an off the shelf ride like dumbo or a carousel into Galaxys edge.

Usually I would say this is lazy but id be willing to overlook it at this point because the imagineers deserve a break.

The land needs something for small children so the whole family can enjoy the land and kids really love both Dumbo and Carousels.

But we can plus it.

Id make it so the ride vehicles were all different animals from a star wars universe. Each with their own animal sounds and textures. Id also have it so that you can feel them breathing like on avatar.

What yall think?
Do we need a kid friendly ride?
If so what ride would you propose?

Nope doesn't need to be toddlerfied. Smugglers run and SDD are same height requirements, while AS2 are a few inches shorter (still requiring 32 inches?). Most 3-5 years old will be able to ride majority of rides with height restrictions. Kids younger/shorter will need to concentrate on MK or utilize rider swap anyway.

So basically dumbo but with the baby yoda floating stroller thing?
Having only recently developed a love for baby yoda, and also having recently been pretty disappointed in SWGE during my visit with my 4 year old, I’m fully in support of this.

I was about to say I don’t think SWGE necessarily needs it but it would be nice to have a dark ride like ride with no height limits in DHS in general, then I remembered duh one is opening in March!

I get where you’re coming from, but an off the shelf ride like a spinner such as Dumbo would completely destroy the realism of Galaxy’s Edge. The Imagineers put in a ton of effort into all the intricate details of the land so that you really feel transported to Batuu, so a spinner would be so out of place and disruptive to the environment that I don’t think there’s any way they’d waste all of their hard work on a ride that isn’t going to absorb too many guests per hour.

Yes I agree. My 3 year old daughter has been to Galaxy’s Edge 3 times and the longest she has ever lasted was 5 minutes. There is nothing in there for her to do so my husband and I have to take turns going to Galaxy’s Edge while the other one takes our daughter elsewhere. I think a family ride or attraction would be a great addition.

I get what you are saying, but would try to solve the problem in a different way...A large play area, the scope and theming similar to the Boneyard in AK, located in TSL. It would give the kids a place to burn off steam and is appropriate to that land. When traveling with larger age diverse groups we use the Boneyard to occupy the kids while some adults hit EE or Dinosaur and the others keep an eye on the kids, then switch.

I believe there was a people mover type ride that was in the initial plans, and was cut at some point, along with the dinner show.

There was a Bantha ride that was in the works but got cut. Not sure if that would have had a height restriction or not

agreed, not everything has to be for kids

(have tons more to say about people who want to dumb down Batuu and make it more kid friendly, but I'm worn out explaining why Batuu is the way it is from other threads over the last few months)
