Hi,
How busy is Thanksgiving day and the day after? We are picking our son up at Camp Pendleton on Thanksgiving day and thought we would make a trip up to Disneyland to spend time with him. How busy are these day? Are they as busy and Christmas time?

What tips can you give to touring Star Wars area?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

This is the SWGE Superthread: New SWGE Superthread! Now Open to All! (6/24/2019). Look over the last few pages of that thread, then ask any questions there. You'll get great, updated help from all our SWGE vets!
Thanksgiving is busy in the parks, but not nearly as bad as Christmas week. Will you have parkhoppers and MaxPass? Those can help you get a lot done during busy times. Will you be staying on site or off? With good planning and a positive attitude, you can have a great time at DLR no matter how busy the parks are.
ETA: Here is the current Holiday Time Superthread: 2019 Holiday Time at DLR Superthread: 11/08/19 - 1/06/20!. Look through this thread to see what will be offered during your visit and ask any questions there!

Try to be at the gates for rope drop -- those first few hours are when you can get the most done. There is no early entry for on site guests for DL that Friday, so you should be on equal footing with everyone else at the gates. Be there early and be ready to go! You can start using MP as soon as you activate your tickets at the gate. If you have the DLR app already downloaded on your smartphone and a credit card on file, you should be able to purchase MP on the app as soon as your tickets are activated (and use Mobile Ordering at select CS locations -- a big time saver). Read this thread for more information: Maxpass/Fastpass Superthread: an overview and some strategy. Buy your tickets ahead of time on the DLR website or on the app, then head straight to the gates. Skip the ticket booths -- that will take up too much of your time since you only have one day.
