No more River Belle Terrace breakfast?

Is this true? Okay, Disney, if this is so, please listen to me for a few minutes. Open breakfast back up how it was before with QS with decent prices. If you don't like admitting you Goofyed, open up a Princess Tiana's character meal for a DECENT price (I am glaring at you "Princess character meal at Storytellers"). Take a trip to Louisiana and get a refresher course on the foods, especially for breakfast. Make it a buffet, with Tiana's beignets of course, grits, real grits with toppings both sweet and savory, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits & gravy, french toast, fritters (fruit types depending on the season), bananas foster, King cake, boudin, jambalaya, red beans & rice, dirty rice, creole chicken, fried chicken, gumbo, crawfish, po' boys, hush puppies, pralines, greens, basically anything fried and last, but not least, a bottle of Tabasco on each and every table! You are in New Orleans Square! Have Princess Tiara, Dr. Facilier, Prince Naveen, Charlotte LaBouff, Louis, Mama Odie etc. This would be a fantastic character meal! The perfect spot for it too! Do not miss this opportunity to fix the princess meal and no breakfast at River Belle situation.

Did River Belle offer breakfast previously?? HOW did I not know this!! And I will second that glare for the what, $300 Princess meal where you get to color a crown?? Ok, so I don't really know...but I overheard something of the sort in the GCH elevator. I'm just saying if it's not a full service Bibiddi after brunch with that price tag, uh...no thanks!! Love your idea, I'm in!!👍 and drooling.....🤤!!

They did, and it used to be served "cafeteria style" with Mickey pancakes and other simple, inexpensive items.

One of the best memories I have of only a few years ago was an early morning alone sitting there at RBT looking out over the Rivers of America.

The Riverbelle was one of our go to spots for breakfast at least once a trip. We always loved sitting there watching the river come alive. Wè even watched the marching band load on to the mark Twain one morning. It was one of Walt's favorite places to have breakfast. So sad that the "company" doesn't care about the history of the park.

The restaurant was remodeled in the transition. QS is not coming back (it’s not needed no matter how much I loved it).

But they do need to fix it. Place was practically deserted when I went for lunch last Spring. Imho the menu needs a 100% re-do. There is much to NOLA food that Californians would love!

I saw a video on this and was disappointed also. Then I thought "when was the last time we ate there?". I think it was a Fantasmic package and we haven't been back.

RBT has been broken (for us) since it moved to Table Service. I think initially they did away with breakfast after converting. Then brought it back about a year ago. Now it's gone again, quietly.

Hopefully this is a step toward switching back. I'd love a Mark Twain breakfast on the patio. But not for $18+ tip and over an hour of morning park time.

The menu and food here is simply not good. I don't really understand what theme they are trying to go for, but it's like a combination of bad BBQ and bad Southern food. They need to do better. The sit down breakfast was WAY overpriced and the options were weird.

I was also miffed when they did away with breakfast at RBT because it was such a great spot to have breakfast, people watch, and look out onto the ROA. RBT was the first place I ever ate at DLR.

In saying that, we had lunch there the last time we went and thought it was pretty good, but I preferred the location as a QS place, if I'm being honest.

This is sad to hear. I like to enjoy a Mark Twain with my husband as we look out over ROA in the morning. We usually go straight to Tomorrowland during Magic Morning and ride Space and Star Tours multiple times, then enjoy a leisurely breakfast at RBT.

It all makes sense now!

I was just browsing the RBT breakfast menu yesterday and when I went to check dining reservations, there was nothing other than lunch and dinner! I figured you just couldn't make reservations for breakfast time...but I went back to the Disneyland site today and they definitely pulled the menu. I was thinking fried green tomatoes and biscuits & gravy sounded like a great breakfast.

It was definitely better as QS - always humming! The refurb took away a lot of the charm of the inside of the restaurant, and I agree the food isnt great. We last went for a Fantasmic dinner but would do Hungry Bear in future. I loved the Mickey pancakes!

This is THE best idea ever!!!!! Tiana does not get enough love in the Disney parks. I mean, they stuck the evil Queen, Snow White and a dwarf (or two) at the Wilderness Lodge in DW, which is not even (thematically speaking) located in Europe. Why not Tiana and Facilier in New Orleans Square?! The princesses at Storytellers Cafe just seemed forced. This would be a much more organic fit.

I agree! I am hoping the Disney beings that read the boards get on it "tout suite"! (That's French for right now!) I know think kind of character meal would be such a big hit IF they do it right! That includes pricing, foods, characters, souvenirs. They could have other princesses meeting Tiana sometimes too. Personally, they are missing a big money maker here.

We ate at RBT for dinner just last week while Fantasmic was happening and I agree, the food was a huge letdown. Many items on the menu simply smothered in BBQ sauce. DW and I laughed as we went down the list before ordering saying “...with BBQ sauce...with BBQ sauce...and, with BBQ sauce.” Disney chefs should be ashamed to churn out food like that and instead hold themselves to higher standards and revamp the menu to something more in line with the land’s theming. I understand they’re trying to cook for a very broad palate but what we experienced was embarrassing.

Speaking of experience, service is lacking there as well. It took some time before we were greeted by a server who immediately informed us she is covering for another server. She asked us for our drink orders and disappeared. Several minutes later, a different server appeared and asked us for our drink order. We let him know another server had already taken our drink order and he leaves abruptly without an apology or any indication of where he’s going. FIFTEEN minutes go by and no one has brought our drinks or returned to take our order. A manager (I presume) walks by asking if everything is good. We still have menus laying on our table in front of us. I tell him about the above and we finally get server at our table who takes our order. The “manager” returns to apologize and tell us he is going to comp us a dessert for our inconvenience. I appreciate the attempt but they bring the dessert out at the same time as our entrees so we get to watch the ice cream melt on our bread pudding (which was mostly hard and stale-tasting by the time we started eating it after our entrees). 🤦‍♂️

There was an attempt...to enjoy a Disney-caliber meal.

When my parents would take me to Disneyland we would always stop here for breakfast :( Great memories here during breakfast. I think that's the only part of the menu I like. I'm not a fan of their lunch or dinner options.

It seems that the Princess & The Frog could have a sit down or counter service eatery. It certainly fits in the New Orleans theme.

This idea got me very excited. I agree that would be great. Plus they could have Tiana (with Loti to get another character) throw a party to get all the other princesses there. They could go all out and have Facilier come out every hour or so do an evil photo op and read your cards, too.

I agree that they need to return breakfast to RiverBelle (and revamp the menu) but I would think a Tiana/Louisiana style experience would work better in New Orleans Square, maybe at the French Market.

Write in to Disney with these ideas and critiques, folks! Remember, Disney does read this site, but that doesn't mean that the right people in the right department will read this particular thread. Better to send in your comments directly!
