Flex Pass Superthread: Disneyland Resort Introduces New Annual Passport that Combines Value and Flexibility

Thanks....

So I see June 21st as fully booked... but it's 31 days instead of 30 days out... shouldn't it be marked not available yet like June 22nd? Anyone know what is going on here?
That's deluxe pass' final day allowed in DL until August..maybe they're expecting high attendance?

Was your sister able to make reservations as soon as she bought the pass at midnight? I read on the Disney site that reservations started at 7 a.m. this morning.

The only days blocked off for her once she purchased was June 20th and 21st. Everything else was open. We need June 22 so are waiting for that to open. When trying to use the discount at Goofy’s kitchen this morning it wouldn’t give it to her scanning the pass but everywhere else she used it and it works.

Thanks....

I've seen that glitch before on some Disney sites. A date will be selectable even if it's 1-day beyond when you can book. Like, for ADRs, it will do check-in day + 10. It will sometimes show the 11th day as blue, but no availability if I click on it. Just one of those Disney IT quirks.

The 20th is the last day for Deluxe, not the 21st.

I will definitely have to keep an eye on this. I am considering upgrading DD's ticket for this weekend to one of these before we leave on Monday but only if we can get 6/21 since that's the day we have a SWGE reservation...

oops! I swore it was the 21st. Still interesting why it is showing sold out. Maybe it is a glitch then?

June 20 would not have been available until 7 AM PST this morning. If she was trying prior to that time, it would have shown as unavailable. June 21 is 31 days away, so logically, it would not be available today. It's possible they put a slash mark through it to signify that it cannot yet be booked. I guess we'll find out for sure tomorrow.

Today. So I would need to renew by May 20, 2020.

The pass is in the form of an e-ticket you can activate via your email confirmation or on your smart phone. I did not see there was any other option to receive the pass. DW and I will be activating the pass when we get out to Anaheim a week from today.

Between the access to both parks on our reservation days and access to Disneyland and California Adventure on two different "Good-to-Go" days of our trip, the Flex Pass has already paid for itself. In fact, per day, it's already less expensive to use than any hopper/1-park-per-day option, and we're just getting started!

After becoming a former AP holder after getting priced out of the market five years ago, I can't wait to use the dining/merchandise discounts again. My only regrets are lack of parking as an add-on and the Christmas/New Year's blackout dates, but you truly can't have everything at this price.
Are you saying that your pass started today even though you aren’t using it in the parks until June? When I bought my WDW AP, I could book fast pass plus immediately but pass did not start until I went to the park to activate it.

I would not want my pass to start before I went to the park for the first time.

For anyone who will be upgrading a 3 day promo ticket before the end of May 23rd, it has been reported on another board that the Flex Pass will date back to the first day you used your promo ticket, not the day you buy the pass.

It's like that with any upgrade to an Annual Pass.
But it can come as a shock to people who aren't aware of or prepared for it. For someone purchasing the pass this week who is planning on trips from May to May, getting a pass that is good from March to March can be a surprise.

Yeah, the bummer is they could have upgraded the pass to a So Cal Annual, and had a couple of months under that pass, and then upgrade to this new one. But of course, nobody knew.

Update, 7 am this morning and 21st is still prefull... and Now the 22nd 31 days out from today is pre booked before it even opens up for reservations........?

I can confirm this is the case.

So I upgraded my tickets last night on the app around 11 PM. By then most CMs had been told the pass would not scan for discounts and for FP. I looked and I know it’s a brand new thing but was surprised to see them offering and accepting reservations for this holiday weekend. This pass works for us being in Northern California. Flights at 30 days out can still be cheap for us if we wish to fly and driving is always an option. Personally I would look to go during the week more then the weekends as I hate the weekend crowds and going peak times of the year. We are planning to come at Halloween time, Christmas, and for my GS birthday so it will definitely come in handy. We added the Max Pass on for the $100 and and just need to come for 7 more days to make that worth paying for itself. I know that once more people buy the pass the reservations will get harder but we will find some dates that work for us and enjoy it.

Wait, help me with this. I already bought tickets for our trip in March 2020. We are going to decide on the last day whether to purchase the flex pass. If our first day using our tickets is March 2, 2020, that would mean the flex pass is good until March 1, 2021, right?

Actually I believe it would go through March 2, 2021. Although keep in mind the price may go up on the Flex Pass between now and then, but you definitely would not want to upgrade now, since people have said that the Flex Passport starts to run the Day You Purchase, rather than 1st Day Of Visit.

I am curious about this as well. When I have purchased on AP online in the past, it showed the expiration date as the date I purchased it. But then when I activated it a week later at the park, the expiration date updated to a year from the date it was activated. So I am wondering if that will happen with this person’s expiration date.

I am planning on purchasing these passes for my family. I had planned on getting SCS passes and am glad I waited. I was going to purchase the flex passes Friday morning through the app so we could go straight to the turnstiles, but now I am concerned I won’t be able to use them on the day I purchase them like if I were purchasing a SCS pass that is blocked out on the day of purchase. I think I will head to the ticket booths tomorrow when we get there to ask. Otherwise, I will purchase one-day park hoppers and then upgrade to the AP at the end of the day. I was really hoping to use the AP discount throughout the day, though.

My pass says it’s good to May 18th 2020. I went into the park using the discount ticket on May 19th for my first day.

I'm curious about this also. I did not realize that when you purchase online, it automatically uses the Purchase Date, but then it updates to the actual 1st day of use. That is why I am holding off on purchasing one ahead of time, and had planned on just upgrading from a $150 day ticket.
