SSR or OKW?

I know that this a personal preference; but we are going to be traveling with a total of 7 adults (all same family) and looking at 2bdrms. We will be going for a week; but only going to the parks 2 days, so there will be days just at the resort. Which resort would you pick? The 2bdrms are the same number of points when we are looking to go. We will also have a car; so size of the resort isn't a real factor. I know that OKW was just re-done; and they are going to be starting SSR? If it were you, what would you do?

OKW 2BR's are very large. You have a big living area and both a sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair in the living area. Also a 4 person table on the balcony vs just chairs on a balcony at SSR. Personally I'd pick OKW for the room. At SSR you can walk over to DS but it's a nice boat ride from OKW to DS so not that great of a difference.

That is what we were kind of leaning towards. We have stayed at SSR before. It not OKW. Is it a big deal if we aren’t booking near hospitality house?

HH area is nice, but it is also the busiest area. Lots of cars, buses and golf carts all day long. If you need to get to the HH you can get on any bus it will stop at the HH before it leaves the resort. You can also walk to Disney Springs from OKW, it is a longer walk than SSR, but it is daytime hours only.

We enjoyed both. SSR is very nice, Just stayed in the Paddock section which I prefer to be now....the closest bldg. to the left of the main pool there.
Also at OKW, we stayed in Turtle pond...I believe bldg 30 or 31....Awesome area too...Both are laid back, but you have to decide what your wanting....

Steps vs elevator? If it matters, pick SSR!
Valid point. Elevator isn’t an issue :) one day it may be; but at the moment we are all ok with stairs. My sister hates elevators....so I’m sure she would be thrilled that OKW doesn’t have them :rotfl2:

There are 3 buildings at OKW that have elevators and they are on the non-HH section. You probably just guaranteed you'll be in one of them!

OKW - just prettier in my opinion - more laid back and relaxing - and Olivia’s!

We stayed at the 2bedroom in OKW our last trip. There were only 4 of us and it was quite roomy.
We've also stayed at Saratoga but only a studio and preferred the overall feel outside of the room of OKW.

We like Saratoga for the food court and easy walk to DS. We took the boat from OKW to DS and it takes awhile. Since you aren't going to the parks much, the easy access to DS for dining options might be something to consider.

If you want to have all kinds of restaurants, entertainment, and shopping nearby I would recommend Saratoga Springs in a "Preferred" room. If you would like a more laid back atmosphere with a short boat or bus ride away from those same attactions, Old Key West would be the place to stay.

I prefer the rooms sizes at Old Key West, since they are noticeably larger than other resorts. Either option is great, but If I had to choose, I would stay at Old Key West.
