Hello fellow gay dads! Join in and say hi! Tell us about any upcoming trips to see Mickey or just let us know how you're doing.

Gay families are unique in a variety of ways and they have their own particular set of challenges which the traditional family may not experience.

A little about us :

We are two dads to an AMAZING 4 year old boy. We're in our early 40s and feeling it lol. Our son has just been declared legally free after an emotional 2 years of very hard work to protect him.

He LOVES Mickey and Minnie and (at this moment) his favorite Disney movie is Snow White (Two weeks ago it was Big Hero 6). He has his own set of challenges due to the trauma of being in foster care but we're dealing with it and very hopeful for his future.

We're headed to WDW in March (AKL) to celebrate our impending adoption of him. We're so excited to step out of reality for 10 days and welcome a little (more) magic into our lives.

Hello,

We are gay dads in our mid 30s from England with 7 year old girl, adopted her whe she was 10 months old. Our adoption journey sounds a bit different than yours, the process in the UK is different, but the outcome is the same.

We have been to Walt Disney World every year for two weeks since she was 4 and are going again this year. We did Caribean Beach (loved it), then Animal Kingdom Lodge (loved it), then Poly club level (didn't like it much) and this August Wilderness Lodge.

My daughter an I are also going on a Disney Cruise to Italy, France and Spain for 7 days at the end of May but my husband can't come because he has exams (at his age!!!).

Hope you had a great time in AKL, I really liked it, although the buses can be a bit hit or miss.

Have to say that is one very lucky girl you have! Have a wonderful time on both of your trips! Come back here and share some pictures :) I am thinking of a cruise through Europe for next year. Would love to hear your thoughts of the Disney cruise. Still debating on Europe vs Alaska.

Hello! We are from Ontario Canada, our son is 13. He has been going on Disney trips with us since we got him when has was 6 y.o.
Poor kid have to put up with dad with Disney addiction problem. LoL

Hey all -

Our family lives in the northern Va area. We recently adopted our daughter in January and she is now three months old. We will be making our next trip to Disney world in early Nov.

Hello fellow gay Disney dads! Bud and James here with our almost 1 year old Parker! We are from the DC area, frequent WDW goers and DVC members with Boardwalk as our home.

Parker has been to Disney twice now (at 4mo and 6mo) and excited to celebrate his 1st Bday on the Disney Dream. Excited and nervous about entering the phase of having a toddler... any tips/tricks from your families is much appreciated! The baby centers in all the parks have been a godsend and we are def utilizing the it’s a small word nursery on the cruise. 🌈👨‍👨‍👦❤️

My husband and I and our one year old son will be going to WDW in August. We live in suburban Maryland, and adopted our son at birth in the Orlando Metro area. This will be his first time at a Disney park.

We're also in Ontario, Canada. Have a 3 and 6 year old and are going to WDW for our 3rd time this September. Last time our oldest was just shy of 40" but thankfully our son is a giant so looking forward to getting to do a few more rides all together.

Oh I wish my son is that young still. Cherish the time when they are tall enough for this ride... but not tall enough for that ride... It will never happens again before you know it.
I even miss getting my arms sore carrying my son back to the resort after a day in the park!
Enjoy having little ones while they are still little.
We are from Niagara area, where about do you guys live ?

Hehe, I'll miss a lot at this age I think but I don't know if I'll miss the pain from having them on my shoulders all day. We're in the Barrie area.

Oh I love this thread! I am a step-dad to 3 grown sons, and I came on scene when they were teenagers. So I tip my hat to you guys who are in it for the long haul from toddler age forward!! I'm sure it will be rewarding for you -- you guys get to intro your kids to Disney. In my case, they were a bit too old for me to do that ;)

Not a gay dad yet, but we're hopeful it'll happen soon! I dream about taking our child to the parks on both coasts and seeing the magic through their eyes. Hopefully this thread gets some more love!
