Magic Express question

We are a large 17ppl extended family flying to DW next month from several cities. My DS is flying from a very small city so he didn’t have many options for flight times. The one he booked arrives at midnight the night before the rest of us and he is planning on staying at the airport Hyatt and then joining us at 10am the next day to go to the Poly. Will he be able to use the magic Express bus? I think his luggage tag was sent to his grandmother (they are sharing a room) who lives in a different state? But i’m assuming that he shouldn’t use the luggage take on his flight but put it on the next morning? Not sure how this all works...

He should not use the luggage tag and should claim his checked bag at the baggage carousel when he arrives. In the morning, he can just check out of the Hyatt and head to DME to meet your party. When requesting DME, just include him by telling DME that he is arriving on the same flight as his grandmother. He will be able to give his larger bags to the DME driver to stow in the hold of the bus. He can claim it when you arrive at your resort. If his room is not ready when you arrive, he can leave his bag with luggage services until it is ready.

He'll have to retrieve his own luggage from the baggage turnstile since he gets in after 10:30. (So, correct...no need for him to put the ME luggage tag on). He can just take his luggage with him when he meets you for Magical Express the next morning (he'll either need his letter from ME -- grandma probably got that -- or his Magic Band to scan in for ME). They'll store his luggage under ME and he'll retrieve it from the ME bus when you all get to the Poly. Sounds like a great reunion trip. I hope y'all have a great time!

Truly, not necessary. Just tell them his intended transfer time. He's in no way obligated to ride at that time. Arrival times overall just allow DME to plan enough buses.

If he doesn't want to haul any large bags, Hyatt Bell Services is, I believe, able to transfer his yellow-tagged luggage to the sorting warehouse. Or at least to the tarmac where DME luggage is pulled. For a fee, of course. For a different fee and with his claim check, they should even bge able to claim his luggage for him.

Don’t risk all that, just have him ignore the yellow tag and get his own luggage. Less chances of something getting lost.

I don't consider it a risk. It shows he has options.

The yellow tags would not go on the luggage at home. They would be applied to the luggage before turning it over to Bell Services in the morning.

The more hands that touch my luggage the riskier it is for human error in my opinion. That’s just my opinion though, to each their own :)
