Does Disney FP planning stress you out?

Fingers hovering over the keyboard. Eyes intently watching the clock. The nano second of your 60 days comes, you draw your breath, and the fingers do the rest. You get the FP for FOP, Slinky and others.

As many trips as we have made, it truly is like conquering your foe. Almost a game of trying to get the best FP possible after you have finalized your touring schedule. But, the amount of stress of making sure, as the primary planner, that you have everything set to satisfy your group is a LOT.

Am I the only one who stresses (and obsesses) over the ultra level of planning?

I love it. Even last trip when I had to wake up early 3 days in a row because everyone was arriving on different days.

:o

Nope! Not at all! I set my alarm for 30 minutes earlier so I could leave and arrive to the school where I teach about 45 minutes earlier. Sat right out there in the parking lot with my laptop in my car to make FPs for me and my son! It was awesome!!!!

I used to stress about it, but it seems in the past couple of years, all my stress has went away and I'm chill:-)

I don't stress about it. I do get up and get what I can at 60 days just in case something strange happens but I also know that I can get what I want the night before and day of. We nearly always end up changing some plans during our trips which involves changing parks night before or morning of.

The actual FP booking I don't stress over too much, but coordinating everyone's priorities to decide what FP to try for...that's stressful! I have all 5 members of the family rank their top attractions for each park, then I have to try to find the common ground and make sure everyone's top 2 or 3 priorities make it into our daily plan.

The part I stress about is worrying beforehand that I won't be able to get the big ticket FPs. Or imaging the worse case scenario, like, "what if the site goes down and I can't book anything and don't have a chance to get Slinky Dog". Then the morning finally comes and I'm usually able to get everything I want. But my heart is usually beating out of my chest the whole time, lol.

I don't usually stress, I love the planning and then getting up early and getting those fastpasses. BUT, for our upcoming trip in October, I'm stressed because I'll be making fastpasses before SWGE opens. I'm just going to have to hope that I make the right decisions regarding our touring plans-which are vastly different this trip because of the EEMHs.

I used to, but I don’t anymore. I make the same plan now since my daughter starting riding everything last summer. It’s super easy now that I know how we like to roll.

Tomorrow morning is my first experience with it, so we’ll see. I’m not overly stressed about it, but I’m also not thrilled at all about waking up at 4am. This process isn’t geared toward those of us on the west coast at all. :rolleyes2

I don’t stress at all. I work nights so I’m up anyway, and if I’m a half second late and don’t get what I want it’s no problem. I’m still going to Disney World.

Not at all, but I'm going solo. No schedule fp or adr. Stress free for the most part, but been there many times and I know what I wanna accomplish when there. If I book one fp for the trip it will be soaring. If I could get one for lazy river typhoon lagoon I would. But no other people allowed. Lol

Doesn’t stress me out at all. What stresses me out is trying to get my brood to get together and set dates far enough in advance that I can get reservations made. My pet peeve is missing out on something not because there was no availability, but because we waited too late to book it. It was easier when my kids weren’t grown and didn’t get a vote!

I am an IT Specialist/Project Manager for the govt the girls have accused me of liking the planning more than the trip.

I won’t stress about anything vacation related.

Stress is for the “real” world.

I make our FPs but I don’t let them dictate our vacation. We end up changing or cancelling about 75% of them. I absolutely refuse to be a slave to a schedule on vacation. That’s also why I don’t make ADRs.

Yes and yes!!! Heart pounding, fingers not working, heart attack moments away.....part of it is with my lack of computer skill, if I make one wrong click, I'll need to backtrack 6 steps. Also last couple of trips , we were going with family and felt it's up to me to get the good rides. Most times my DD will get into account and get FP and I'll adjust later. While on the trip, DD is my TA. She'll be home and tracking us, as soon as we tap into a ride, she'll be hunting for our next FP.

Absolutely! We were planning a trip for an extended family of 17ppl and it was the most stressed out i’ve been in years!

First of all, it was my first time booking FP’s online. It was exacerbated by the fact that I had an out of state family baby shower that I had to leave for (with homemade desserts and favors) by 9am on my FP window day. I actually almost left for the party the night before to sleep at my son’s house so I would have more time in the morning. But cooler heads prevailed and I was reassured by my DIL that I could get it all done in time. I was up at 5:45 and on speakerphone with DIL by 6:30. And, I was all booked by about 7:30! Turns out that it was pretty easy and I got everything I wanted, and many in large groups. Who knew?

After planning trips where I booked FP with 30 days or less, and one day at a time (for offsite stays) and have been able to get what I want and/ or plan around what I didn't get (such as planning to RD a ride, skip a ride, or ride later in the day) it really doesn't stress me out. I have yet to not be able to get FP for what I want, even if it sometimes means switching the day I go to which park and/ or cancelling or rescheduling an ADR (we don't make many ADRs). It's a series of choices and I find that those who plan every second get frustrated very quickly when the plan inevitably gets behind schedule.
