Thoughts on Storybook Dining - very mixed reviews

I must ask.... in the same post, you ask if I have eaten there, then tell me that I have not. I would greatly appreciate it if you would use this boards "ignore" feature, so that we may simply not converse. I have insulted no one. Simply stated my opinion. There is nothing wrong with "Bad food, lots of entertainment" - MANY children really enjoy this.

Perhaps I should have been more specific. You are every vocal about how bad this restaurant is but yu never say why you feel so strongly. Let me rephrase: What so you not like that you have eaten or experience at Storybook? I am not a child and while I do not pretend to be a gourmet, I have not had any food there that inspires the vitriol you r posts suggest is served.

Sometimes, people DO - and then they follow the advice of their Mom's.
"If you can't say anything nice... try to save someone else, being as kind as you can".

With these constant interrogations? I may start to HAVE to ask the obvious question:

What financial interest do those folks have in AP, that motivates them to keep slamming me for a PERSONAL OPINION?

Seriously - PLEASE... go eat there. It's really not going to cause an issue for me.

Now, asking kindly ... just use this wonderful board's "ignore" function. I'm sure you are a wonderful person, but I'm not going to report to you.

I'm not slamming you for your personal opinion, but don't think it's right to respond to poster's questions about the restaurant if you haven't eaten there. I'm pretty sure that someone reading a bad review from you would have the reasonable expectation that you have eaten there, and it isn't good. You have been very negative about Storybook Dining since it was announced that Artist Point was changing over to it. I'm sure it was a disappointment, and I totally get that. I haven't always liked changes to my personal favorites over the years, however I don't review them if I haven't eaten at them.

As far as my having a "financial interest" in it...I can't even begin to guess what that means.

Now I'm wondering who has actually had a meal there.

I would hope people don't post when they have no personal experience. Maybe I'm wrong???

But remember "many children enjoy it"

The insults to those who have positive feedback is pretty fresh.

I hope most people who review any restaurant here are using personal experience to share opinions.

For a lot of us, dining in Disney may seem to be "If I do not get ther ethis time, next time I shall", however the reality is that for may of our members the trip they are planning is the only one for a very long time. WHen they ask questions about any restaurant or experience they are ask it is because it is an important spoke in their wheel, the one restaurant picked over another because there are limits on their special meals. I take exception to anyone using the honest questions of a poster as a means to disparage a restaurant that he may not even have stepped foot into because of a change in business model.

Dining in DIsney is more than just the food, and while it would be wonderful if we all could afford to take our families into signature restaurants daily on our trips, I rather doubt that is the case. Meals are chosen carefully, balancing the needs and wants of all family members to include ambiance and atmaosphere, food preferences, atmosphere and price. IF we cannot provide helpful feedback that istems from personal experience we are doing a disservice to the folks who come here for help.

The characters are amazing and the queen is one of the best face characters I've encountered at WDW. Like many character meals, the prime motivation for dining is not so much the actual dining, but the character interaction. And AP does not disappoint.

There's nothing wrong with the food, but I found the menu choices rather limited (still good though) but anyone expecting the old version of Artist Point will probably be disappointed. Service was a little hit and miss, we got some courses too soon and others too late but in today's Disney restaurants that's not necessarily unusual.

I'd definitely recommend AP for people looking for a character dining experience but not so much for those who might be looking for a quiet dinner as AP is certainly not quiet. (Though quite frankly, the only reason the old AP was "quiet" was because there was never anyone in there)

I think that Disney is attempting to find a compromise for those who do want a character meal and who are not willing to add one more buffet or AYCTE meal into their rotation. I find the change to be responsive to guest feedback, and that is refreshing. It was clear that the old AP was struggling, and that in order to keep that restaurant alive a drastic change needed to occur. I commend the managerial decisions that took place because it could not have been an easy decision to break from the tried and true WDW character buffets.

It is NOT a signature dining experience, but it is a decent alternative to an AYCTE meal with preplated selections plunked on the table in a rapid rotation designed to push guests in and out as quickly as possible.

We loved the character dining, but the food left something to be desired. We had the gnocchi, and our son ate the kids' chicken. The gnocchi was too gummy, but the flavor was good. Characters (especially the face characters) were fantastic. Wouldn't be a must-do every trip for us, though.

This thread is going nowhere. Please do use the ignore function when needed. It saves so much annoyance....for all of us :)
