Wow. Didn't think I'd so easily be able to reserve online

Now to start REALLY saving... Especially with the aussie dollar down so low

Reckon some crowd funding would work? :rotfl2:

Have you been? What's your experience?

Haven’t been but we are booked for 9-26. We finally have a grandparent on the trip with us so we can have a night out. With wine pairing and 20% tip it’s exactly 600 bucks for two. I like round numbers! :scared:

Congratulations! You will love it. The word phenomenal is an understatement. I went for my 18th birthday 15 years ago and my dh and I went on our honeymoon but sat at the chef’s table. It is so perfect but one thing to note. When I was 18, my stomach wasn’t used to such high quality rich foods that I got a little sick after and felt sluggish the next day. I wouldn’t plan anything early morning the following day.

DH and I celebrated our anniversary with that dinner on our first trip with the kids in 2012. It changed the way I cooked and how I thought of food. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish and we plan to dine there for our 20th in 2021. Yeah, I'm starting the V&A fund now!

DH went more aspirational with his choices and had the Wagyu beef and pheasant, two new items for him. I went a different direction and had the chicken, which was out-of-this-world and I occasionally buy whole birds from Joyce Farms, where V&A sourced theirs, when I want an impressive roast chicken. I also ordered the beet carpaccio, even though I normally don't like beets. I figured if I didn't like how the chef prepared them then I wouldn't try to like them, ever again. That dish haunts me because I have no idea how to duplicate it at home. Another dish that I'll never forget was the cioppino.
Whether you stick with foods that seem ordinary, or try new/exotic things, the flavors are inspirational.

Enjoy. We have done it 3 times and loved every time.
Plan to spend 3 hours +. take your time, savor it and enjoy.

We're heading there in May (dining in the Queen Victoria Room on Canada's Queen Victoria Day holiday!) for our 10th time. We love it. I'm planning another return for December when my ADR window opens.

Eeek I love reading about everyone's experiences.
It is making me more excited to go! Hahaa, now the long wait!

Now - please check that website? You will want to pack more "formal" stuff? V&A has a VERY serious dress code.
Our experience - Party of two, main dining area - plan on about $750 USD, (around $1065 AUD today) with appropriate tip.

Indeed! I already warned DH :woohoo:

And yes, hence why I think I may need to start some crowd funding :confused3 The dollar for us is terrible right now.
Either that, or forgo some pins (which I don't really want to do!!)

The dollar for us is terrible right now.
I feel your pain. The Canadian dollar is equally weak. I got about $40,000 USD back when the Canadian dollar was bit higher but with all the Disney trips over the years it is all gone. :(

We'd love to try it but can't bring ourselves to bring the required clothes on the trip. :) For that kind if dining we will be living 90 minutes from The Inn at Little Washington. You'll love it.

Congratulations!!! You will love it.

Did you get the regular dining room, Queen Victoria's Room or The Chef Table??? I surprised my wife with The Chef Table for her birthday and absolutely totally loved it. It was great talking with the chefs and listening to them sharing their experience.

So, have you ever been to The Inn at Little Washington since it sounds like you will be moving near by? My wife and I took my mom there for her 70th birthday (as it had been a life-long dream to go there). She had always dreamed of dining there with my dad but my dad passed away before they had a chance to go. We made a weekend of it by doing some local winery tours and then ended up staying in the Claiborne House for the weekend. If you have never been, you will love it!!!!! We greatly enjoyed it.

We just stayed there for our 30th anniversary. First time overnight and 3rd time dining. This meal was by far the best. They really earned that third Michelin star. The accommodations were flat out amazing along with the service and attention to detail.

We booked the regular dining room on this occasion ☺
I considered the chefs table, but the dining room and harpist sounds so pretty

Yay for you! I just went in January and it was amazing. I wrote about it on the boards, page 2 on the link in my signature. :) Have fun!
