Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Has there been any new construction at the IG from BC/YC? I love the convenience of walking through that entrance I worry the Skyline will disrupt that flow. Is it still two turnstiles and two security? Also is all the cabana construction done at Yacht Club?

Cabana construction is done and the cabanas are in use.

The IG has lots of construction walls, and things are rearranged. There’s a temporary security station just before you get to guest relations, with two tables and a metal detector. Then you follow a narrow pathway behind guest relations and the ticket scan points are on the path just past the first entrance to the store. Sorry I didn’t take a pic, but maybe @YCFAN or @focusondisney can take a pic if they’re still there.

Just back from 3 lovely nights in a 2nd floor Woods View room by the IG entrance. No issues with the room at all. I do wish people with young children would teach them to not yell and run around hallways to midnight. Apparently there was a family group that allowed their 4 to 8 year old to leave their rooms and run to their cousins and grandparents at all hours without supervision. No I did not complain but jeez. Midnight?

Re: the IG entrance: the pictures @shoreward linked show the current situation. To explain it a little better, the security set up is MUCH better than it was previously, IMO. The area is where the touchpoints were previously, but turned sideways. There are now 4 security tables& 2 metal detectors. They announce guests without bags to go right to metal detectors, so you just go around the tables. Everyone goes they the detectors. You then follow along the wall to the admission touch points. Those are moved up from where they were, actually up past the store entrance. There are still only 2 banks of touch points, so 8 touch points total. 1 is marked for pass holders, but no one seems to enforce or notice that. I found security much faster than the admission area. Bag check is under a cover, only the actual taps tiles are covered for the actual entrance.

So I am thinking of booking for Beach club for my honeymoon in Feb. I had originally wanted contemporary but doesn't look like it will be on the free dining plan.

However, I am worried that with the new Gondelas it will make the area around the beach club waaaaay busier and that buses will be harder to get etc. Does anyone know anything about it.

Thank you

Nobody KNOWS until the Gondolas actually come on line.
But yes, I expect the International Gateway entrance to Epcot to see an increase in the number of guests.
However, I don't see how that will effect the Beach Club buses. I don't think the Epcot guests will spill over like that
Congratulations on your upcoming marriage.

Please add me to the list--So excited for our 1st stay at Yacht Club, June 15-19th for our son's 14th birthday.

This is an awesome thread with so much information!

:welcome:

I'm glad you find this to be a helpful forum. I'm happy to add you to the list!

Yacht & Beach are great resorts for teens!

:cool1:

I have a couple of comments-

I agree with @Hopefully- we are not sure of the exact impact of the gondolas on the International Gateway, but I would expect increased traffic. I also agree that there should not be an impact on the buses due to the gondolas- It would not make sense for someone who is using the gondolas from wherever they are coming from to take the Yacht & Beach Club resort buses to either MK or AK.

Is the Free Dining promotion valid for the Yacht Club as well as the Beach Club? Although I enjoy stays at both resorts, IMHO, YC is slightly more laid back than the BC, and provides a somewhat "honeymoonier" atmosphere. However, if the promotion you want is not available at YC, I wouldn't hesitate to stay at BC.

Please let us know if you book a stay.

:goodvibes

Thank you both for your comments, both very helpful.

We did look at the Yacht Club as well but for some reason the room prices was an £800 difference (different rooms available) and we didn't feel it was worth it. Plus BC is slightly closer to epcot if I am right and the rooms look prettier

Looking for advice, I can add a night on to our trip but I have to change from Garden View Club Level, to Standard View Club Level.
I don't want to be too far from the lounge. Is it worth it to change just do I don't have to change rooms? If I don't change, then I have to book just one night standard view non club level the first night of our trip.

I have a question about a deluxe studio at BCV. Do they all have a full balcony and do they all have either a garden view or pool view? I do NOT want to look at the parking lot.

Balcony sizes vary from smaller, but not the Juliette style, to humongous depending on location. As to the parking lot view, there are no rooms that directly look upon the parking lot. You may see it from a distance or sideways view, but not a full on you are only looking at a parking lot.

Wow! That was a fast response! Thank you. We currently have ressies in a standard view room at Poly but LOVE SAB and so wondering if we would be happier with a Deluxe Studio at BCV. Just two adults for our anniversary.

We are two adults and love it as well (as you can see by the avatar)! We have celebrated our anniversary there for years (and birthdays too). We periodically switch off between BCV and BWV, but those are our favorites.

What is the difference between standard studio and deluxe? The view?

At BCV there are no views for which you are able to pay more to reserve. All views are priced equivalently. This is not necessarily the case at other DVC properties.

A standard view at other resorts would be just that--a lesser view than other categories. Deluxe studio is simply what Disney has designated all of the studio rooms--there isn't a "standard studio" versus a "deluxe studio".

So excited - we have two rooms booked at the Yacht Club for 10/24-10/29/19 garden view! (one room for me, my son, wife and 2 kids and another room for my other 2 sons)

I'm still working on another reservation for my daughter & her children for 10/20-10/24/19 to arrive before my son and his family but could only get the nights of 10/18-10/20/19 at Beach Club Villa through a DVC member renting points. I haven't been able to book anything yet for 10/20-22/19 by renting points. She wants to stay 4 nights but due to sibling rivalry she doesn't want to stay same dates as him so hard to plan :confused3 Would be SO much easier if we all stayed same dates but I'm caught in the middle and have to do what I can :crowded: So looks like I'll be staying from 10/18-10/29/19 unless I can get my daughter a reservation for 10/20-10/24/19. Looking for any pixie dust anyone can give!

This will be our first visit at Yacht/Beach Club resorts. We've always stay at BWV and admired these hotels from across Crescent Lake. I'm super excited as have been wanting to experience Stormalong Bay for over 10 years!

Trying to understand the situation. You currently have a garden view CL room. If you want to add on 1 night the options are either separately booking a standard view non-CL room or completely changing the entire reservation to standard view CL? Are these the only options because you are staying within a discount?

Yes, trying to maximize the AP discount

Ok. I recently stayed BC CL in a standard view room and it was very close to the lounge. I had a view of the BC entrance. There are a bunch of rooms that are further so it could be a possibility to be further from the lounge.

If you really want the garden view CL room, would you be willing to book one night at rack rate? You can then call and have them note its a continuing reservation and the resort will try to not have you switch rooms. The availability does change so you could check multiple times a day to see if it would be covered under the AP rate.
