Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

We are hoping to make one more trip to WDW before the madness of SWGE begins.
We are considering booking a reservation at CBR, this would be our first stay there.
Our priorities:
Close as possible to first (a.m.) bus stop.
Quiet. We must have ground floor (no elevators, right) so does it get loud with someone above you?
We have stayed at the Coronado several times on the ground floor and never heard a thing above us.
(maybe no one was staying in the room....lol)

And I'm thinking "maybe" the skyliner will be operating when we are there the end of August. It appears to be progressing to the point it will open on or before SWGE opening.
Would be nice to be close to it too, but buses are priority.

Looks like it's going to be pretty warm 5 days out, but a cool down a bit after. Looks like good weather to help with patience to deal with the crowds! Right now is probably the best time to have the best shot at your requests for the usual initial room sorting at 3-4 days out.

I thought the refund for the night plus $100 was above and beyond for something that wasn't their fault. They were giving away bottled water, bottled soda, large brownies, fruit, etc. in the food court. They had a lifeguard stationed out by the lake. It did get really hot in the room, but I do think they did the best they could to make up for a rough night that was probably pretty rough on all the CMs too.

For sure, I agree that it was not their fault. And I know that it was stressful for them because there were people yelling and crying. Although we were stressed, we did remain calm. I can only imagine what they were dealing with by 3 or 4AM. At the same time, we have a child with asthma and it was incredibly stressful to have the option of packing and then carrying our things down stairs by the light of our cell phones (our room faced the courtyard and there was literally NO light) to go to Pop Century or ride it out and make sure that she didn't have an asthma attack. We chose to ride it out and kept our door open for a while.

The only thing that I think they should fix/do differently is that they really do need emergency lighting in the hallways and near the steps. That is a major liability for someone to get hurt.
 
Hey CBR peeps...question...posted same on Skyline thread, but wanted to see if any of you know due to Resort impact? Read through all 1st pages...

1) Is the assumption (if no official/know final wait & see I guess?) it’ll start as early/ run as late as buses? Mainly interested in am for alternative to HS RD/ am EMH.

(Staying early Oct this year again & previous am bus experience awesome 1st arriving to HS. Since so close, could literally get there 1st in line..don’t always RD...but when we do ;))

2) :disrocks: An early request asking any who stay before us after Skyline debuts to report any experiences for RD/am EMH @ HS? :worship:
 
Hi everyone. I am currently having bit of an issue regarding the murphy bed. I called last week to add it as a request to my booking. However, it has since become a bookable category so they will not add it as a request. If offered to pay to upgrade - no availability. My daughters have 11 years between them and really can't share a bed.

Do you have any advice? Would they perhaps help at check-in? Can I request a mattress for the floor or anything!?! An air bed???

Any advice very greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I would keep calling to see if a room with the 5th sleeper opens up, people cancel all the time. And as a backup bring or ship an air mattress. We do it often and works great .
 
Do they sell 12 packs of water in the gift shop/store? We usually have it delivered by Amazon, but I've heard they have it in the gift shops sometimes.
