Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

dansdad, I was told that the reason for the room with the 5th sleeper is to guarantee the fold down bed,

Exactly.

The way you explained 5th sleeper confused me, can you help me understand?

If your party has 5 guests all 3 years old or older, you will be assigned a room with a Murphy Bed. If your party has 4 or less guests but you want a room with a Murphy Bed you have to book a room in the "5th Sleeper" category.

We booked a 5th sleeper in april and while it may be too late to change I want to make sure I understand what I booked

Then you will get a room with a Murphy Bed. Hope that helps.

thanks dansdad, this makes sense now.

Yes. Over half of them do not.

Yes. The TVs in all the rooms are the same size.

Thanks dansdad. Would you happen to know where I could find pictures of a room without the extra bed? Just interested what the furniture looks like.

TIA!

Hey guys. This is a question about odds, as I truly understand requests are such :) This will be our 1st time back at CBR since construction started. For budget purposes, recently switched our Oct 2019 trip from Boardwalk. Wanted Water View (awesome luck in past getting my fave Jamaica building 45 that way). Since Water View was booked, went with Pref to reduce vast chances of still being further away even if we get “blessed” with lovely parking lot views :(...

After stalking Pref room views online (party of 3 so guessing no Murphy bed & won’t be a request bc no need), it seems like a request for Martinique building 25 is best chance not staring at a parking lot? Esp w/ the coming SW’s madness & Sky Line, I get probably @ capacity by then & even a general building request might not be honored. And still excited coming back to my personal fave resort no matter what room, esp to see the amazing changes:love:...Just looking to increase our odds best I can

So sorry-One more add on question to above from experience...If you already know capacity will probably be max, think smarter to limit a request for a certain Pref building, or still same odds adding a floor request as secondary? (We normally ask for top floor when previous Water View category). Being Pref 1st time, I’d take non parking lot room bottom floor any day over top parking lot

Hi dansdad! We are booked for a standard room in June. In your experienced opinion where should we request?! Just in general what area would be best? We might eat dinner there once or twice, enjoy the pools midday and drive ourselves to the parks at least half of the time. Any info would help it's our first stay at CBR! So excited!

Our favorite locations are Jamaica 45 and Aruba 51. Both are a short stroll across the bridge to the Main Feature Pool and food.

Question regarding the Pirate Rooms- are these randomly assigned, or do you have to request them? Is there a way to say you do NOT want a pirate room? We will be there May 8-13 for DD's cheer competition and have very little control other than choosing the resort. I just really do not want a pirate room.

Pirate rooms are a booking category. You would only end up in one if that is what was booked for you by whomever made the reservations for the competition.

Or if the resort is at capacity and you're offered an "upgrade" I know that has happened many times and they try to send people there. You can nicely decline due to size of beds. But since pirate rooms cost more, they technically do fall under an upgrade, even though they are far from an upgrade to most people.

So then what happens if I refuse? Are there other upgrades available? I am sure we are being booked the bottom tier of rooms- it is all through a "Package" from Varsity, who is hosting the competition. Curious if when I arrive I can request an upgrade and pay the difference if one is available, but don;t know what the options are for rooms and what would constitute an upgrade (other than pirate room, lol)

I have no clue what you'll be able to do, but the bookings are Standard (in which you'd be in Jamaica or Aruba), Preferred (in which you'd be in Martinique or Barbados), Pirate (in which you'd be in Trinidad), then there are King, and Water/Pool Views, which could be in any building. When I was there last month, there was also a cheer competition, and they were all placed in the Standard area (Jamaica/Aruba). We were actually bumped up to Preferred because I think they were full over there.

Packages through Varsity are for Standard View rooms so you'll be in Jamaica or Aruba.

I highly doubt that you'll be upgraded as a group of cheerleaders. Most likely they'll keep all of the groups in cheaper rooms and if they are going to upgrade people, they will upgrade families or couples... because those families and couples are also likely to be irritated to be sandwiched between a million cheerleaders. (No offense, but we've BDTD as a family and it was AWFUL)

Trust me, if were a way for me to avoid it, we would, LOL.

We have a three day cruise booked in august 2020 and I think this is the perfect place to spend a couple of days before we go. WE are old and want to book a preferred room to cut down on the walking which is the best? looks like Martinique # 26? would that be what I need to request?:hyper2::hyper2:
