Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

The flight I'm looking at will get to MCO at 8:50 PM. I know that center town is open until 11 for quick service meals but do they really still serve food or is it grab and go only?
Thanks for the help.

Staying at CBR in a couple weeks. Stayed there before once and had a room, by chance, that was near the resort entrance and thus closer to where the WDW buses entered. But I cannot remember where that was. It seems that the WDW buses went around CBR, but now there is a separate internal bus. Is that right? And is it new since 2012?

Bottom line is I would like to try and get a room to minimize wasted time on buses around CBR. If it can be near where the WDW buses pick up and drop off we can just walk to that spot.

Advice?

Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'WDW buses' .... aren't they all WDW buses? Or do you mean buses that go to the parks as opposed to the internal resort bus that just loops the resort and doesn't leave?

The buses to the parks stop at every bus stop in every island/section.

In the mornings, the buses split into 2 routes -- one bus goes to Martinique, OPR, Barbados, Trinidad, then heads out. The other bus goes to Jamaica, Aruba, and heads out. Then later in the day they're likely combined, in the order of Martinique, OPR, Barbados, Trinidad, Jamaica, and Aruba. However, I was in Barbados, and in the mornings, we were frequently already full by the time we hit Trinidad and had to skip it. This happened probably 3 times... if I had been staying in Trinidad I probably would have walked to the Barbados or OPR stop. But this probably all ebbs and flows depending on how busy it is.

Thanks. I am trying to distinguish between internal CBR buses and those that go from CBR to the parks, etc., around WDW.

Where do the "outside" buses pick up and drop off? Which rooms are closest to that place?

Before the construction of the Riviera Resort, park buses entered CBR from one of two entrances. The Main entrance and the side entrance. If a bus entered the Main Entrance, Martinique was the 1st stop. If the bus entered the side entrance, then Jamaica was the first stop.

Now, the original main entrance has been removed and the old side entrance serves as the main entrance. Except during very slow parts of the day they send 2 buses for each park. One will pick up Jamaica -> Barbados then head straight to the park. The other bus will pick up Martinique -> Old Port Royale -> Barbados -> Trinidad then head to the park.

Anyone know where mears picks up at CBR?i posted this in transportation thread with a response to call them but just wondering if anyone used from CBR or saw pickups ?
Thanks

Staying here early March as only discounted room available on short notice. After reading this thread ( never stayed here before) I am getting nervous, lol.
I don’t want cheer squads, tons of blocked pathways, or no bus cause it’s overfilled.
Prob why a standard room popped up.
Eek.. may need to re think this.
My only request was, near food ..thinking
It’d be closer to main area.
Hmmmm

I don’t want cheer squads,

None are scheduled at CBR in early March.

Tons of blocked pathways,

All pathways are now accessible.

Or no bus cause it’s overfilled.

Should not be an issue.

If your request is granted you will be close to the main area. Quite a few Standard View rooms are closer than some Preferred View rooms.

Contest of Champions National Dance Competition is March 1-3 with The All-Star Resort "hosting",but they do have the option to stay at other resorts so I wouldn't be surprised to see some at CBR.

AmeriCheer & AmeriDance International Championship will be at CBR March 16-17 with the Athletes arriving a day or 2 before Competition and maybe some staying a few days after Competition.:)

Good luck. We are staying there in April and my plan is to just make the best of it. There are worse resorts, IMO. But Spring Break time is BUSY. We stayed at CBR a couple of years ago on Spring Break and we didn't have any cheerleaders but we did a huge group of kids from a either a church or Christian school who sang loudly about Jesus on every bus ride. (We're Christians, too, but it was over the top) And when they weren't singing they were just yelling across the bus at each other. I swear they were everywhere on every single bus.

I expect the buses to be packed at capacity with people standing during Spring Break. But we have had that happen at every resort including deluxe.

Even if you end up standard at CBR, the walk to get food isn't too bad.

And again, I'm trying to keep perspective. For me, even a crazy stay at CBR is still better than my experiences staying at All Stars

Hmm... not to be negative, but having a preferred room (other than Trinidad) means more time/crowds on the buses, not less?

Thanks!

So if it was the morning and I wanted to catch the bus at the final bus stop before it headed direct to a park (and not have to joy ride around CBR picking up other guests), it sounds like being in Barbados or Trinidad would be closest to that final bus stop?

Yes. I was in Barbados. But even on the way back from the parks when stopping at Martinique and OPR first it only added a few minutes, those stops aren't all that far apart (or they didn't feel like it). Our bus skipped Trinidad in the morning 3 times due to capacity, but maybe those mornings they sent them their own bus. Trinidad is Pirate rooms so you would need to book that specifically if you wanted it. Martinique and Barbados are Preferred.

[Eta] For me personally if I had my pick of any area it would be Martinique, they are first pick up so no worries on the bus crowd. Yes you then have 3 more stops but it's not really that bad.

When I was in Trinidad last November there was only one time a bus skipped over us with a full bus and that was peak morning time for the bus to MK. Obviously it can happen, but it doesn't seem as widespread of a thing as some people worry about. Also during peak times the stops that are at the end seem to have a CM with a radio that calls in that the stop was skipped and usually a bus is prioritizing the skipped stop. Not sure if that happens every time though.

If you like, but it also means that you get a seat on the bus and don't have to stand. Coming back from the parks, you're the first (Martinique) or third (Barbados) off.

Anyone use Amazon Prime Now for grocery deliver to CBR? If so anyone know what address to put in? I can put in the zip code (32830) and add stuff to the cart but I tried to put the address google gave me (1114 Cayman Way) but amazon said there was a problem with the address. I am a few weeks out but was trying to figure out how to do it and to start a cart early.
