Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Hopefully they don't have to do the same thing to all the other towers too. There are a few other towers that could end up similarly bad for some buildings.

Oh my goodness - so glad I looked at this! We have 15 rooms booked here for our school group and I requested those buildings last time and received them. We love Jamaica bus stop as well. So.... is 43 and 44 ok to ask for? We will be there Spring Break.

They moved us to building 43 and there was no construction. All of this might be different by the time you get there. I don't mind if it was a little noisy, but they literally had fences everywhere with construction workers digging during the day. It has to be frustrating for people staying with young children who might want to nap during the day.

I can't imagine this sort of construction taking too much longer. It's just the beginning of February.

I, for one, am really looking forward to our stay in May. It'll be our first F&G Festival and dh and I are sharing it with our adult dd and her boyfriend. I know we will have a fantastic time and bonus if the Skyliner will be ready for soft openings! Can you imagine how wonderfully convenient the gondola system is going to be for CBR vacationers?

For those of you who have stayed at CBR in July... Are there a lot of tour groups that stay at the resort in July? I was under the impression that these groups mostly stay at the Values.

In July,it is possible to find 15s at all Values(with the exception of AoA) and all Moderates(with POFQ being least likely).

We’ll be staying at CBR this October after spending our last trip at AoA. I’ve read great things about CBR so we’re excited for our first taste of a moderate after only staying at values in the past!
We've never stayed at a Value resort but if we were to do so, it would probably be AoA (which prices are heftier than most values, yes?) or POP. We really are going to do this one day! We have 3 trips this year and were thinking of skipping 2020 altogether to save our small small DVC points for the birthday celebration in 2021.....but honestly I don't know if I can totally skip a year :)

I stayed at ASMu before I was married and then AoA most recently and yes it is more expensive than the All Star Resorts but it’s is MUCH better IMO. Not having a shared bus is a big plus for me seeing as how we have DD4 and DD2 with us.

We’re fairly utilitarian with how we view our hotels at this point. We need somewhere to shower and sleep, and overt Disney theming is nice for the girls. My in-laws are going with us on this trip and when they said they wanted to stay at a moderate, I was happy to accommodate them!

So I just received the following email concerning my early July stay at CBR:

Dear ******** Party,

We are delighted you have chosen to stay with us at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort!

Walt Disney once spoke of how his creations would never be complete as long as there is imagination left in the world. It is in this spirit that we have embarked on some refurbishment projects across the Resort, including the development of Disney Skyliner, which will give Guests a bird’s-eye view of Walt Disney World® Resort while traveling via gondolas. This brand-new gondola system will connect future Guests of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort with Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, the International Gateway at Epcot® and other Disney Resort Hotels.

While we work our magic, the Resort will be in full operation with all amenities available to you, including our dining, merchandise and recreation locations. It is possible that you may see or hear construction, but noise should not be heard from your Guest room between dusk and 9:00am. We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding. Please know we are making every effort to ensure your comfort and enjoyment.

If you have questions or need assistance prior to your arrival, please contact the Disney Reservation Center at 407-939-1822 between the hours of 7:00am-11:00pm (ET).

General Manager Brian Vucinich and the team at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort will be happy to assist you.

Sincerely,

Thanks for sharing. I thought the construction was pretty much done so this is a bummer. I wonder what they have left to do. (We are also going in the summer).

They are still working on the Gondola Station and currently are planting new trees around the support poles.
We have a July stay planned as well and got the email. I knew the gondola system wouldn't be finished for my trip, but I'm assuming the digging and fences for the new trees I'm reading about would long be finished by then. I'm guessing by July they will mostly be working on finishing touches, do you think that's accurate?

I would think so.

I'm going in late March/early April and did not receive this construction alert email...I wonder if there is another project lined up for that time?

I also Received this email yesterday for a booking in July. Yet if I duplicate the booking online there is still no mention of construction.
