Storybook Dining at Artist Point Watch Thread!

These comments about time are sort of comical to me. Clearly Disney is not going to kick anyone out at 60 min. That is being said to make sure folks know it's not a quick meal, not because you have a time limit to eat.
And advice to any who think they are being rushed, ignore them. I know you are capable of ignoring, especially if you have kids or a significant other ;)
So if anyone is trying to make you rush, ignore! No one can make you do anything, unless they are going to grab your arm and walk you out. And we all know they are NOT going to do that. The only time there would be an exception in my mind is if it's the end of the night and you are the only table, and all the others have already had the chairs stacked on top. Then yeah, you may want to hurry on out. LOL

Totally agree with this. If I'm spending over $200 for a character dinner, I'm taking my time.

I’ve fallen off in the thread. Do all of the characters sign? I know the Queen does, and you get a card with signatures.

I booked dinner here recently for our trip at the end of March. It was an impulsive ADR; I was browsing through the list of restaurants available and it had availability so I grabbed it. But now I see that they are NOT on the TiW list. I'll keep an eye out for a potential discount. They may not be added to TiW just yet.

They were on TiW the night I made my reservation. I checked to be sure.

They did not offer an AP discount, I checked.

Within days they pulled the TiW discount.

Then they added the AP discount.

I only have a week to go ... really hope the TiW comes back but if not at least I have AP.

Still not happy that they play this game, offering it to book, then yanking it.

No one rushed me at all. I mostly enjoyed the meal, but miss the great bread and butter that used to be included at Artist Point. Wish they would bring that back.

@HopperFan or anyone else going soon, please ask if they offer a TiW discount and please report back. :thumbsup2 Hoping it does come back. We will have an AP, so that helps a little.

Just finished my Storybook Dining meal. I thought it was really fabulous and a lot of food/entertainment value for the price. I didn’t really feel rushed, but I tend to eat quickly. The only time I felt rushed was when my enteee came out a touch to early, and the server immediately apologized. Not a big deal at all. The rest of the meal was appropriately paced.

The best appetizer is easily the butternut squash soup. I wish I had a bowl of it. The other two were good, but not at the top of my list. I had the veal and it was as good as I had heard. Tender, flavorful, and a big portion.

I was surprised by the desserts - I liked all of them! Gooseberry pie was my favorite though, as it had a unique but also comforting flavor.

I was worried about dining solo, but the cast members are very concerned that you have a great experience. Characters motioned for cast to come take photos. All signed. The Queen was epic. I’d do it again, but it’ll be a while before I go back (mainly because I’m the only one interested in character dining!).

PS - maybe I lucked out, but the boat to/from MK only took 15 minutes!

So glad to hear this! I have this booked solo in February and was a bit worried about pics, etc. Glad to hear you had a great experience.

Our party of three adults dined with Snow White and the gang tonight.
We all thought it was wonderful and we would recommend it to everyone.
We all had the prime rib. Which was a very generous cut that none of us could finish. We all asked for regular mashed potatoes, and they were substituted with no problem. The smoked carrots were yummy. The popover authentic. I don’t eat cold shrimp, so I asked to substitute the kids veggie appetizer and that was no problem. I also enjoyed the soup and meat pie appetizers. Our favorite dessert was the cute little apple. We thought the dark green food coloring used in the cake cup was unnecessary. The frosting and chocolate gems were the best part of that.
Our character interactions with Snow White and the evil queen were very good.
It was a beautiful night!

Went tonight. Said no to TiW, yes to AP and DVC. So 10% off was it. Maybe later they will add it back in.

We arrived way early so after wandering the hotel and outside I just attempted to check in early at 4:15 for a 4:45 ADR. No problem and we were seated immediately. I think we hit the jackpot with the corner window table overlooking waterfall and clear view of Queen. I loved the spinning tree in the middle of the table for the small dishes. They really did a good job of transforming the restaurant while keeping it classy.

Our server was excellent start to finish. I know some have not been happy with attitude or service but couldn't have been happier. She truly seemed to be enjoying the experience.

Appetizers: We liked them all. I think the sauce for the pie was a perfect compliment, the shrimp tasted fresh (I usually avoid seafood other than on coast) with an interesting flavor and the soup was delicious. I WANT one of the mini cast iron pots, on the hunt now.

Entrees: I should have listened to folks about prime rib. It was very fatty and a struggle to cut. A real struggle. Prime rib should cut easily. Luckily it was huge so even taking out the fat trim there was plenty to eat. I would not order again. The potatoes ... I forgot to switch and my potato loving guy didn't finish them. Popover I tried, good. I had the veal shank and it was delicious. I was very surprised by all the layers of flavor. While stacked each item had a distinct flavor and the winter greens were the biggest surprise, I can't even describe the marinade they had.

Desserts: SWEET SWEET. Clever themes, loved they were all very different. Apple was my favorite, had more a cheesecake taste so less sweet. Couldn't finish the others just too much sugar. I LOVE caramel corn so that was welcomed and only took small bite of heart, just too much sugar after the other desserts.

Snow White was wonderful with DS and couldn't have been happier with interaction.
Dopey was such a delight and came twice to our table. He worked well with stress DS was having at that point.
Grumpy was perfect Grumpy and by then I had a Grumpy too.
Queen = perfection. She was stunning to look at and had it nailed.
All signed, Snow White kissed his book as well.
The Queen's backdrop was done well as it looks great in photographs.
Loved the colorful twinkling lights in the trees.

Downside for US:
We don't do character meals much anymore, been there - done that - none new ........ but of course this one we booked twice. It was LOUD. I didn't think about them doing an announcement for characters as they entered, playing segments of loud music and people singing. It was a bit intense for DS and add to that several small babies screaming. Sound traveled quite well in there and he asked for headphones (on top of ear plugs) but it was still permeating. Something to be ready for. Now had we had a night time (dark) meal, it might have helped him if the room stays more dim (and if Mom didn't leave meds in car since at time he was so excited and happy to go in).

We were two and at a four top. But there were plenty of legit tables for two, and a solo diner next to us was at one. She seemed to have as much attention as all the other tables. I spoke to the podium on way out to give my compliments, said it was selling well and they even made them new fancy name tags so they are feeling a permanence.

Thank-you so much for the heads up on the volume factor. I will be sure to take my DS headphones with us! I wouldn't have thought of that, for a restaurant, otherwise.

It was so quiet on arrival and moments of fairly quiet ... but when they were doing "royal type" announcements for each character and they paraded out around the room it was broadcast loud. And the musical moments, like the music inside 7DMT how that is loud. I brought his headphones anticipated kids yelling or screaming ... but we needed them more than I hoped. I at least got Snow White photos with them off. And he already had ear plugs in.

I didn't see one yet, so I started a thread! Hope this is the right place :)

I remember subscribing to a thread for BOG breakfast before it first came out and I was able to get one thanks to the people here! Hoping we can help one another snag this cool new reservation!

"Storybook Dining at Artist Point will invite guests to venture into an Enchanted Forest-like setting inspired by Walt Disney’s “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” There, you’ll enjoy a delicious meal of fantastic fare with visits from Snow White, Dopey and Grumpy. Delightful music and activities will help bring the classic fairytale to life, and you’ll even have an opportunity for an encounter with The Queen.

This immersive character dinner takes place amidst the rustic elegance and exceptional dining that Artist Point is known for. You’ll enjoy a uniquely themed prix fixe menu, including shared starters, a choice of individual plated entrees and ‘sweet spells’ to finish the meal.

My counterparts from our Food & Beverage team will have more to share soon. Keep checking Disney Parks Blog for additional details as they become available, including menu offerings, an opening date and when you can book reservations, as well as where you might be able to find select fan-favorite Artist Point menu items in the future.

Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White is slated to begin this winter."
I am not sure I agree that asking for a substitution is taking advantage of a Disney restaurant. If one asked for a different entree selection or requested food from WCC I could jump on your bandwagon, but a simple request to substitute more shrimp or more soup for that awful meat pie? How is that taking advantage? The answer is a simple yes or no. I hate shrimp. It is the only seafood I will not eat, so if I was dinign alone and had no one to give my portion to I wodul scertainly feel that asking for more of that delicious bisque in exchange for shrimp was acceptable. If my request could not be accomodated, I have lost nothing, and have not placed anyoen in jeopardy.

The same holds true for desserts. They are preplated and therefore there is no choice. I found all but the gooseberry pie atrocious. If I returned with my family we would ask for a substitution if possible, again prepared for the possibility we would not be accommodated.

This is an expensive meal and one designed to get folks in and out in order to turn tables efficiently. I get it. It is also the only meal you are going to meet Grumpy, Dopey, and The Queen. People will book it for this reason, but will try to at least find a way to enjoy the meal they pay for. It never hurts to ask.
Totally agree with you. I have seen quite a few guest reviews now & the majority of them were not keen on the Gooseberry dish.
So subbing it should be an option based on preference maybe?
Also if you have a shellfish allergy, the Chefs at all WDW Restaurants will accommodate eating allergies & disorders.
But make sure you tell your server this at the start of the meal.

I am looking for some advice and help. I really want to eat here this April. No reservations are open at the moment. I am just a solo and was curious would it be wise to just show up there and wait for a table? Do you think they would turn me away? Also I have had 4 previous solo trips and have not done a character meal before. This 1 I want to do badly.

I just posted a minute ago and didn't see this post. I am a solo too but nervous about doing a character meal alone since I never tried it. Did u ask people to take photos of you and characters and did you find it was to much food for one?

Do the touring plans reservation finder if you truly want to do it. No guarantees for walkups

Definitely use the touring plans reservation finder. It's free and helped me get some really hard to find ADR's for our trip during free dining when they are much harder to come by. Enjoy!
