My actual favorites no longer exist :sad1:
Our first trip and honeymoon we stayed at The Disney Inn. These days, that's Shades of Green.
Another favorite was the Villas at Disney Institute, where SSR is now.

Current would have to be OKW. I think I like it because it's relaxed, spread out, and really gives me a feeling of being elsewhere. It's non-Disney, in it's own way - the little touches are there, but after spending all day with the mouse and his friends, it's nice to 'come home' to somewhere a little less obvious. And, it does feel like coming home. Much more so than just an ordinary room.
Also, the studio rooms there are the only ones on property to have 2 queen beds.
This makes DH happy, that he doesn't have to 'assemble' his bed after a long day :rotfl2:

Wilderness Lodge is our favorite. It just feels so comfortable to us, is absolutely gorgeous, and gives you a feeling of quiet seclusion despite being so close to MK.
We often go in the Fall and appreciate that the entire resort (with the exception of the cabins) is under one roof so you don't have to get wet to get to / from your room. We also love the beautiful location on Bay Lake, and the boat transportation options that it offers. The quick bus to MK is pretty nice too. We also appreciate that it is one of the least expensive Deluxe resorts, so you get the perks of a Deluxe resort for what can be just a small amount more than you'd pay at a moderate. We book Standard View, which helps keep the cost down as well, since some upgraded views cost almost twice as much per night for the same size room.
Among the moderates we loved POR, and found it to have many of the attributes we love about WL, with its quiet rural feel.
It is definitely a personal decision, and you can't go wrong with any Disney resort, but WL is definitely our favorite.

My favorite is the Boardwalk Inn. The resort is a perfect size and near Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Also, I like the entertainment, shopping, and dining atmosphere of the boardwalk at night. The quiet pool is great, too!

I picked moderate because, technically, it is, but our favorite is FW. We debated trying another this next time (booked CBR) but decided to stay at the cabins anyway. We LOVE being able to get a break from all the craziness and being able to just relax on the deck. The kids love being able to run around and explore, and we have the space to spread out a little inside. The kitchen is another bonus. The boat to MK is so quiet and calming after a long day, too!

Deluxe ( own DVC at GF and BLT)
GF- love rooms, grounds, atmosphere, lobby, quick service and can walk to the Poly.
BW- love the location, easy walk to Epcot, all the dining options and the boardwalk at night.
CR- Iconic Disney to me! Kids grew up staying there. Great memories.

We love club level main building at the grand Floridian or even just a regular room in the outer buildings. When we can’t get rooms at the GF we stay at the beach club villas both have their own ambiance and advantages

For View - BLT 1 bedroom
For amenities - Poly
For main lobby - wilderness lodge
Room - Contemporary Garden Wing
For MK - Contemporary so we can walk!
Food - Poly

The Wilderness Lodge. If we could stay anywhere on property for free, this is where we would pick. Great location, yet quiet. Gorgeous grounds and lobby. Fantastic\secluded feeling pool area. Great food. Still on the "lower end" of cost price wise, but has gotten far more expensive per night over the past few years. (very frustrating)!

We love AKL, it was the first Disney resort we stayed at and it just feels like home. My boys really enjoy watching the animals. Even though its Disney it feels like a real escape from the parks and hustle and bustle from the daily activities of a Disney vacation.

We have stayed at POR (both Mansions and AB sections), POP, ASMovies and AoA (LM and Suites).

Our least favorite was ASMo. Everything from the buses to the lobby to the hotel rooms just seemed very old and outdated. The food court 'smell' made me lose my appetite.

We enjoyed the Mansions at POR, but were not a fan at all of the AB section.

Now that we have a handful of kids, our options are more limited. One year, checking into AoA into a LM room, we were asked how we would feel about a free upgrade to one of their suites. How could we not say YES?! Now we are totally hooked!

It depends on what kind of vacation I am looking for - relaxing or go-go-go.

For relaxing, AKL is my #1. When I am having a bad day at home, AKL lobby is where I long to be. The place just screams "chill out" to me, and I could easily spend my entire vacation in the lobby, soaking in the atmosphere.

When we are doing parks, we LOVE Pop Century. It is vibrant and fun and easy.

BLT hands down for walking to MK. However, I will admit we are relatively new Disney addicts and haven't experienced so many of the awesome resorts. We are doing our first split stay in April between BLT and Boardwalk. I have a feeling we will have the best of both worlds since we love to walk to the parks!

BLT is the best for location for sure, however, my family and can't help but feel that it is a little sterile with respect to Disney theming. Feels more like a regular hotel on Disney property than a traditional Disney hotel. I guess that is a positive for some? You will see the difference when staying at Boardwalk. But I don't care what anyone may tell you about transportation, you simply cannot beat walking back from MK lol

Port Orleans French quarter. Imho best overall. Factoring price grounds. Pool. Etc. However. We also love POP. So value resorts are perfect if we need to save a little.

All Star Movies x2, Music, Sports, Pop x2, POR, Coronado, AKL
POFQ in 4 weeks.
When our kids came with us, POP was great with price and feels.
We stayed concierge level at AKL...omg, that was awesome, but pricey
Now that it is just hubby and I, Moderates are great for price points, restaurants, and atmosphere, although Grand Floridian and Contemporary are on our list.
Coronado is great but huge!!
We loved Riverside and are thinking POFQ will probably be our new favorite. I'll let you know in a few weeks :)

Have stayed at many resorts from ASM to DVC villas. Since we are DVC members we mostly stay at Boulder Creek and Beach Club Villas (we own at both). Love Boulder Creek because it's so rustic and I love the cabin type feel of the place.
