*** January 2019 Thread ***

Packed up my DS last night and so today and tomorrow is about finishing up packing for myself and my hubbie.. our Flight is at 630am on Tuesday.. so excited.. really happy because my work surprised me of giving us off on MLK for monday.. first for everything I guess. My husband's company did the same this year first time as well so we are already in vacation mode. I saw there were long waits for the Minnie and Mickey in their celebration outfits.. Hoping we can get into see them without too bad a wait since we didn't think about passes for any of the characters.

My husband and I both got head colds this week. We've been doing everything we can to recover before we leave so its going to be a semi lazy weekend to help finish off nipping these in the bud.

We will be staying at the Pop Century from the 22nd-30th. Last time we stayed at Art of Animation but didn't need as much space with a smaller group this time. This is the longest trip we've ever taken so we have a whole list of things we want to make sure we do and our son is doing the pirate league our first full day there I can't wait to see how that turns out.. ^_^.. its been since our last trip in 2016 that we had a vacation so this is long in the making... ^_^

Relaxing at AKL watching the animals on the savnnah. DH and I went to AK this morning for EMH and while everyone else rushed to Pandora, we did Expedition Everest, Dinosaur and Kilamanjoro Safari with no wait. we Have a FP later in our stay for FOP. Had a good time wandering around looking at animals. We are trying to go at a slower pace on this trip. Crowds were pretty bad by the time we left the park for lunch.

4 days to go and should be excited but looking at the weather forecast for Jan 24-Feb 1 it looks to be freezing at night :(

Getting really worried our kids won't want to walk around in the cold let alone us

Tomorrow! We will be kissing this freezing cold single digit weather goodbye!

We're back from an AMAZING trip! It was so fun to slow down and enjoy all the little things. BWI was a great resort and our room had a beautiful view. I'm glad didn't super plan so DH and I could just go with the flow and do what we felt like. Crowds were light, weather was a bit weird- I wore light sweater over t-shirt first day, heavy sweatshirt over long sleeves next day, puffer jacket over sweatshirt and t-shirt the next, back down to sweatshirt a tee, and the last park day I was in a tee- CM's were a true joy, food was scrumptious, and I'm glad DH and I were able to celebrate our 22nd anniversary in such a fun way! I'll try to get a TR posted here once I get pics uploaded.

Great day at animal kingdom today beautiful weather! surprised to see all Christmas decorations still up but a cast member at the entrance told us the tree at the entrance is coming down tomorrow. they're still playing Christmas music at the entrance and in Dino land!
We were there the same day. I was so happy the AK tree was up- that's my absolute favorite! We were chuckling that Silent Night was playing when we entered the park.

At Epcot this evening. Opening day of the Festival of the Arts and a Friday before the holiday weekend is making the crowds high. Still fun though and 79 today. Perfect weather!

We did Epcot that morning and afternoon too. First time for us at FotA and we really enjoyed. As evening began there did seem to be a big rise in attendance. Of course, lots of locals I'm sure after work, but still manageable. We've been multiple times during F&W and had lines for the kiosks, but not bad this time.

High crowds for the holiday weekend. Wait times 2 hours and up for main attractions. We have a resort day at the Poly today luckily and lunch in DS. Very windy out with 19 mph winds right now. Got to 80 yesterday with low of 37 forecast for tonight. Definitely pack for all weather!

Have to agree about the crowds this weekend. We did EMH last two mornings and our fast passes then have gone back to the resort. And the weather change from yesterday to today makes my bones ache. I was in a swimsuit by the resort pool yesterday and am bundled in long sleeves and a heavy jacket today.

The forecast for our first few days looks FRIGID...for us as native Southern Californians. I need to buy warmer pants, was planning on wearing workout leggings but may need to find some that are fleece lined for those chilly mornings and evenings.
