Cass, Rob & Kira - Christmas on the Wonder - 2018. Third time's a charm!

oh no poor Rob Cass!! One thing I've known all these years, is that Rob LOVES his food, so this is not good. Not good at all. I feel so bad for him. You have to plan to do a repeat soon, and his jaw has to be all healed. Great update!

I got behind....crazy week (I booked 11 cruise in the last week)!

And onto a tender boat. Kira was mad at me because I made her leave her phone in the room.

well that is child abuse. I a so ashamed of you!

Was Rob playing Kira’s Body Guard here? LOL!!!

I was thinking the same thing when I saw that picture!

The first place you see is the breeding pond. These guys are huge and have the best area with tons of room and a beach.

443.jpg

And perhaps breeding was going on right before our eyes? hahahahah

Mango! I have never seen Mango. Claire will love that! I hope they have it on ours.

I loved it!! I thought they did a great job with it, capturing the spirit of the original but updating it but he didn't like it at all. :crazy2:

Well he is now dead to me! hahaha. I LOVED it! I have seen it twice and can't wait to buy it!

The trip back to the port was much more interesting than the trip up. It was jam packed full of locals, one of which was hilariously drunk and was entertaining the whole bus.

He had gone out to pick up more beer by the looks of it and he was flirting with all of the girls. And although there was a stop about 3 houses away from his house, he made the driver pull up right at his house

As he was leaving, he yelled out very dramatically "You two in the back (that was me & Rob), you get to leave here and tell everyone at home that you met the famous Willoughby!" :rotfl:

He carried on with other stuff and then someone up front yelled "Willoughby! We have places to go, shut the door!"

Before he walked away I shouted "Merry Christmas, Willoughby!" and he stumbled up his steps. :rotfl2:
OMG that is hilarious! A real slice of island life and a true authentic memory!

Rob was super happy when he saw that they finally brought out his favourite ice cream, pineapple coconut :cool1:
Mmmm! I'll be on the Wonder in 3 weeks (!) and hoping they bring this one out!

I recommended he eat more soup and soft foods and he agreed because eating anything at that point was just tough on him. :sad2:
Aw man, that totally sucks! I hope his jaw starts to feel somewhat better!

The cruise director and her assistant did a cute little Mary Poppins intro and then we watched the movie.

485.jpg
That is so cool and so much work they put in! Was it for a premier performance, or just whenever they showed the movie?

What is wrong with you people? That was an awesome movie :goodvibes :cool1:
I haven't seen it yet. We are still going to try and see it as a family, but if not, I assume it will be on the Wonder!

So Rob put on Solo on his ipad, hooked it up to our TV and we enjoyed a whole 20 minutes of quiet time alone

495.jpg
Now that image is so awesome! A dark room, Christmas lights, and Star Wars!

Wow, Cass, you guys really took one for the team with that turtle farm. I know it won't be on my list if I ever go back to the Caymans. I don't feel good about
animals in captivity either, so I would have felt the same way. Poor turtles. :(
Willoughby!? Lol, it reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode where the train stops at Willoughby only your bus stopped at Willoughby's house! Haha.
Oh, poor Rob! What an painful time that must have been! :headache: It's a good thing you knew how to remedy that so it wouldn't happen again.
I sure hope it didn't!
Oh, yeah, key lime pie! :-) Love it!
Wayan was sure good to you guys! That was so nice of him to save some lobster and shrimp dishes for Rob. And how nice that you found some peace on
your verandah, how ever short lived. :goodvibes
Gorgeous sunset pics!
I went through some of what you went through with Kira and the kids' clubs with my own daughter. She's grown now, but she remembers what it was like being 11, 14, and 16 on the ship. She says it's not easy... or at least not for some kids. She usually went to the activities the first night and then didn't really want to go back. She hung out with some of the kids a couple of times, but mostly hung out with me. It can be an awkward age, especially if you're a little shy.:o

December 25th, Part 1

Christmas at sea, the very BEST way to spend this holiday, IMHO :santa: :cloud9:

This would be a very different Christmas for us, even different from the past two years on the ship due to Kira's age and some new intel we gave her a few months ago. ;) :ssst:

Yup, she was almost 12 before she found out that Santa...only brings gifts to children's homes so we would have a small gift opening at home after we returned from the trip. :p

So, no need to check our stockings this year for presents since they were left at home. :D

Good thing because she didn't even want to get up! :rolleyes2

So Rob and I made our way up to Cabanas to enjoy a lovely breakfast with a gorgeous view.

507.jpg

Rob's usual...

508.jpg

And here's mine...

509.jpg

And since you Moms could probably relate, this is what my plate looks like once I am all done the prepping of my food to eat. :rolleyes1

510.jpg

Maybe I'm in the minority here but ever since I had Kira, this is what I do to all my meals before I start eating. :p

Well, not always but most of the time. I don't do it in Palo and I try not to do it in the MDR's but this is how I prefer to eat. Everything all ready to shove down my gullet :rotfl2:

Cabanas was super busy so we found seats just outside, near the little build-a-bowl area behind Daisy's, which I think a lot of people miss.

511.jpg

512.jpg

They had pea soup here, which I made a note of to come back and try it out later. :thumbsup2

513.jpg

Since I am such a terrific Mom, I brought my daughter breakfast in bed. Only because it was Christmas and I was feeling all warm and lovey-dovey. :lovestruc

Normally I would tell her to get off her lazy butt and either join us or go get something for herself.:laughing:

Okay, maybe terrific is overstating it a little. :p

514.jpg

She seemed to be rather happy about it :cloud9:

515.jpg

We let her eat in peace and watch her shows and I didn't even yell at her about it! AND... I even turned the TV on for her and turned it to her favourite channel so she didn't have to get out of bed.

I am officially putting terrific Mom back on the table.::yes:: :P

Rob and I went down to the Atrium to check out the festivities...

522.jpg

I'm pretty sure today's attire is "Christmas Pajama Casual" :scratchin :lmao:

From breakfast to dinner, that is all we saw ::yes::

Here's the spread they had out for us...

516.jpg

517.jpg

518.jpg

519.jpg

Rob grabbed a coffee because it had been a few minutes since his last one. :scratchin

520.jpg

We grabbed a cup and filled it with cookies. Actually, a kind CM did it for me since I was taking pics and video :woohoo:

Talk about service!
:worship:

521.jpg

Then we headed up to deck 5 to watch. This was a great time to just hang out and enjoy. There were TONS of characters out and about and they all come and go from deck 5 so this was the perfect spot :thumbsup2

523.jpg

524.jpg

It was time for Santa to make his appearance and greet the guests but "Santa Goofy" showed up and surprised everyone :rotfl2:

He even went down to Santa's chair and all of the people in line for Santa were a little confused

Just then, I made a comment about how difficult it was to take photos and video and hold our cup of cookies and just as it came out of my mouth, I dropped the cookies

Rob went down and got some more but I felt bad that I had wasted a whole cup of cookies :scared:

They weren't even for me! They were for Kira but actually, Rob was the only one who ate them

525.jpg

Just then, the REAL Santa showed up and visited all the kids waiting for him downstairs :D

Santa must be so tired after his busy night, how nice of him to make an appearance for us :groom:

526.jpg

Christmas characters were showing up everywhere! :santa:

527.jpg

528.jpg

They were having a special brunch at Triton's and there was a huge line up to get in. I guess people like to have a fancy meal on Christmas morning. Fancy people, anyway...not us :rotfl2:

529.jpg

I passed this and thought of my bestie Nancy

530.jpg

Rob and I went to go sit out on deck 4 and just chill...what the heck, what happened to all of the deck chairs on deck 4? :confused3:confused3:confused3

531.jpg

We crossed to the other side and it looked like the same situation, very few chairs and all taken.

They used to have TONS of chairs out there and we've never had a problem grabbing a couple, no matter what time of day it was. Oh well, we have our own private verandah anyway :goodvibes

532.jpg

We enjoyed some blissful moments out there and thought about how lucky we were to be sitting there, together, happy, (mostly) healthy and on a DISNEY CRUISE!!! :cloud9::love::worship:

As much as we enjoyed Castaway Cay the previous year, Christmas sea days are where it's at :lovestruc

533.jpg

Kira was happy to be in the room watching her shows so we went to Crown & Fin to play some adult trivia.

Passed a very quiet Atrium on the way...

534.jpg

535.jpg

They had some snacks set up here...

536.jpg

We lost but had tons of fun playing.

Then we decided to go check out the new Disney at Sea with D23.

537.jpg

It wasn't horrible but outdated and irrelevant mostly.

538.jpg

Back to C & F for more trivia

539.jpg

Then we stopped at Daisy's and Pete's for some lunch. That pea soup didn't do it for me but Rob liked it.

543.jpg

I got my usual :rolleyes1

544.jpg

YUM!!!

So far, a fabulous Christmas :woohoo:

Love your report. Kira is such a cutie. Saying that, I am glad to be out of the tweens/teens age group. Our daughter is 21 and I am still recuperating from her teen years. I think you will have smoother sailing through the teen years with Kira than we had with Sarah. Kira seems to be an introvert, Sarah was an extreme extrovert and easily swayed by her friends. Introverts tend to be more stable and mature. I think Kira is like her parents and appreciates her "alone" time. That is a sign of intelligence you know.

Kate

I get so excited when I see a new Cass update!! :cheer2: Loving it and I've got say, Christmas at sea does sound awesome!

Aw such a great Christmas post!! Loved it. Best picture award? your barefeet and his socks, on the verandah. That is so you and Rob. :lovestruc And how funny, breakfast, (and it wouldn't be a Rob breakfast without a chocolate croissant, you go Rob, it was right there) right to the hot dog at the end, LOVE it. Keep on keepin on, as always, do not want this story to end!

December 25th, Part 2

When we went back to the room for lunch, we found these...

That means the cruise is almost over :worried:

540.jpg

541.jpg

542.jpg

Kira had left to find some lunch and do an Edge activity I think. Looking at the Nav, I saw they had a family Disney trivia at 4pm so I texted Kira to see if she would join us so we could do something fun together as a family.

I almost snorted when I read her reply...:lmao::lmao::lmao:

545.jpg

Apparently, she had a spot open in her "schedule" and joined us for Disney Trivia.

546.jpg

Which we won :woohoo:

Actually, we tied with another group and we were going to just let them have the "medals" since we have some from last summer's cruise but Kira was adamant about having hers so she got one medal and the other group got the rest.

547.jpg

Kira went off somewhere as today was the day she finally decided to try some activities at Edge! She didn't do many but she did do them and ended up having a ton of fun! Who'd a thunk? :rolleyes1 :p

Rob and I headed outside to deck 4 to enjoy a sunset. Our verandah was now on the other side so no sunset verandah time for us. Thankfully, it was nice and peaceful out there and we found a seat. :goodvibes

548.jpg

549.jpg

550.jpg

There's only two spots on each side where they have chairs now :(

551.jpg

It wasn't spectacular like most are but it was beautiful and we enjoyed every second of it.

552.jpg

Kira had been texting us to say that she was going to the pool with her friend but her friend ended up backing out on her for something else so I suggested she go swimming anyway because this might be the only opportunity for her to have any kind of evening swim time since we were skipping the show that night. She was already in her swimsuit, ready to meet up with her friend so she decided to go for a quick swim. We met her up there...

553.jpg

555.jpg

She didn't stay long though and she ended up going to see a few characters. Rob met up with her to see Spiderman while I checked the stores one last time on my own.

556.jpg

We met back up in D Lounge for "So You Think You Know Your Family?" and Kira and Rob tried to get chosen but it was packed in there and we were sitting at the back and they chose people from the front.

557.jpg

Five minutes into it, a whole bunch of kids and babies right behind me started yelling/screaming and I had to leave. :scared::scared::scared:

Rob and Kira knew and understood why I had to leave and I am glad they decided to stay and watch, although we had terrible seats and couldn't see much of anything. But they enjoyed listening to it.

Then it was time for Christmas Dinner!

558.jpg

559.jpg

Oh look, our Christmas best attire :rolleyes1

560.jpg

My corn chowder...

561.jpg

Kira's dinner...

562.jpg

Rob ordered weird stuff (for him, that is) because of his jaw issues, everything soft. ;)

Rob's appy...

563.jpg

And his soup...

564.jpg

I ordered the beef dish but asked Wayan to bring me an extra side of potato because I LOVE scalloped potatoes and this cruise there was no regular menu at Triton's for us and I missed out on my favourite meal, the beef tenderloin and dauphinoise potatoes so I just had to have extra

565.jpg

Wayan brought me TWO of them :eek::eek:

566.jpg

I also asked for just the ham from another entree and I am happy to see he only brought me the ham and not the rest of the entree as he said he would :rotfl2:

Ham is my jam :cool1:

567.jpg

Rob got the ravioli...not something I thought he would ever order

568.jpg

This was my favourite meal of the entire trip!:love::love:

The potatoes were divine and I ate every single bite! The beef was so delicious and the ham was even better!!! :worship:

Rob was laughing at the faces I was making during my meal :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

569.jpg

I was soooo stuffed, no room for dessert but Rob got this...

570.jpg

Wayan also did another crayon puzzle for us and I figured it out this time. He also did one the night before but I forgot to tell you all about it. I figured that one out too. :scratchin They weren't easy though, it took me quite awhile to get them! ::yes::

We also gave Wayan and Chani each a Christmas gift. I had wrapped up a whole bunch of Canadian chocolate bars and candy in a Christmas bag and added some USD $ inside a little xmas card :santa:

Kira left dinner early that night to head to Edge where they were doing a Descendants DJ thing and she stayed until midnight I think, for Heroes and Villains. :woohoo:

We returned to the room to find this...

571.jpg

Changed into my swim suit and headed to the pool. Rob said he would join me in a bit.

When I got there, there was just me and one guy in one of the hot tubs and the other hot tub had an entire extended group/family in it.

After about 15 minutes, another huge group/family joined me and the other guy in the hot tub. They bothered the other guy enough that he left but I hung out for as long as I could handle it then went swimming.

Two people from that group were also swimming but they were really annoying. They had been doing canon-balls and jumping up and down all over the place. I figured they would stop doing that stuff when I joined them in the pool but they totally didn't.

I tried to swim some laps but they were oblivious to any kind of proper etiquette and it made for a terrible pool experience for me that night. :worried:

Both of them ended up bashing into me, literally, several times and I eventually gave up and just hung out at the side of the pool, where they unbelievably still ended up running into me! >:(

Rob had joined me with his book about 10 minutes before I completely gave up and left!

Some people's kids, man o_O

572.jpg

573.jpg

574.jpg

The moon was beautiful that night and we ended up spending time together on the verandah.

575.jpg

Remember how I told you how our neighbours kept leaving their verandah lights on? Well, they left them on again that night :rolleyes2

And they weren't out there at all.

577.jpg

Normally, with all the lights off, you could barely see, which made it really nice to be able to look out onto the moonlit ocean but their light brightened up the whole place! At least our noisy neighbours had turned theirs off and weren't around.

578.jpg

So, other than my less than spectacular pool experience, this was an AMAZING Christmas! Definitely the best Christmas I've had since my Mom passed away 21 years ago! :santa: :lovestruc

What a beautiful Christmas day!!!

Wow.....that is a lot of Christmas jammies :rotfl:

Loving all the characters in their Christmas attire! Yummmmm that brunch would be right up my alley! :thumbsup2 Dinner looked equally delicious :Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc

Where the heck did all the deck 4 chairs go???? That is our absolute favourite place to sit on any ship (unless we have a verandah). Did they come back? Do I need to riot in March if I can't find an empty one????:hyper::hyper::hyper:

I would have felt exactly as you did. Not sure how anyone could come away from that feeling good about it. Thanks for honestly sharing your experience.

Well, if you read online reviews on Trip Advisor, a lot of people enjoy it :scared:

We were happy to see and touch the turtles but as soon as we saw that they didn't enjoy it, then we didn't enjoy it :sad2:

That really does make me sad too. It looks like the enclosures were also very "fake", just big tubs for them.

I do love seeing turtles in the wild (snorkling with them in Maui was awesome), so it would be heartbreaking to see them being bred just to be poked and prodded.

Yes, very small enclosures, except for the breeding pond

Snorkeling with them in Maui sounds much nicer ::yes::

I agree with you about the turtles. Hard to believe there’s a place like this and they let people touch them. In Hawaii it’s illegal to touch turtles and there are huge fines if you do. We love seeing them in Maui and everyone is so respectful of them. Enjoying your report. Glad you were able to go and take us along. Thanks for sharing with us.

Yes, we saw turtles once on a black sand beach on the Big Island and remember seeing many signs about not going near them!

Still awesome to see them even if we couldn't touch them :thumbsup2

I always feel bad for the animals at these places. I won't go to zoos either. It all makes me feel sad. Heck, sometimes I wonder if my dog wouldn't rather be running free but he lives the good life and is pretty spoiled.

Yeah, I am the same way, I don't care for zoos and refuse to go to the circus.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: About your dog, I often wonder the same thing but my Boo is always with me, no matter where I am...she's a big chicken so I doubt she would run off anywhere

Just as an FYI - the turtle centre is a sort of combo platter. It is a government owned facility. They preach conservation but don't exactly practice it in the fullest. In the Caymans, they "control" all of the turtle breeding and nesting. They collect wild nests and bring the eggs to the centre and after hatching release many of the little ones once they have grown a little. Same goes with those that breed in the centre. But they also harvest adults and sell the meat. Roughly 35-40% of the turtles are harvested and sold as meat, as turtle meat is still a common delicacy in the islands. This and the conditions of the animals in the park are the primary reason Disney stopped doing shore excursions here.

And i enjoy reading your trip reports. Kira has sure grown up so much!

Yes, I saw where they sell the meat and while it's easy to judge, it's part of their culture and way of living. BUT when I saw how small their tanks were and how much they did not enjoy being touched and always looking for a way to get out, it made me sad and not want to support them ever again. :sad2:

Enjoying your trip so far. I feel so bad for you and Rob and your tooth issues. My son recently got braces and had a lot of pain a couple of times. He seems to have adjusted but they get tightened soon.
My son was like Kira and didn’t really like the clubs and would rather hang with us or in the room. He’s 15 now and he and his brother who is 20 spend all their time playing basketball or ping pong on the ships.
Our next cruise is to Canada and Nova Scotia for our 25th anniversary in August. Seriously looking forward to it.
Hope you had a great Christmas Day. Can’t wait to read about it

Oh man, I feel for your son! My teeth always hurt! No one told me that part of braces. I haven't even had them tightened yet :scared:

She did much better by the end of the cruise with Edge and end up loving it. I just wish she had tried more activities earlier in the cruise, it would have been better for all of us :rolleyes1

Ohhhh a very nice 25th anniversary gift :thumbsup2

Awwwww, now I feel bad for the turtles too. Yep, I won’t consider that excursion either now. :(

Was Rob playing security guard at the turtle food booth too? LOL!!
I guess if I wanted to buy it bad enough, I probably would’ve tossed the $5 into the booth and taken my bag of food. Worker would’ve found it when he/she came back. Then again, with my luck, I would’ve been arrested for that. :)
At home during harvest season, many farmers have their goods out on a table and payment is on your honor. They do it every year, so they must not have too many problems with payment.

Did DCL do Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve?

\

Security Rob :rotfl2:

Yup, you'd be in jail for sure :rotfl:

Midnight mass is what you see in those photos. :thumbsup2 The other masses were all at 8am!

Awww, yeah from your description and photos, it looks like the turtles were not happy to be surrounded/touched/picked up all the time. That's sad :sad1: Officially taking any turtle farm/centre off any excursion list for future cruises.

Ouch, poor Rob! I hope he was able to eat ok the rest of the trip. At least the dinner that night was soft and yummy :flower1:

Woohoo, Christmas!!!:santa::santa::santa:

Yup, we won't be back either :scared:

It was a challenge but he got through it by eating much softer foods. :thumbsup2 Good thing he likes a lot of food because I would have been miserable without my hot dogs and meat and potatoes

oh no poor Rob Cass!! One thing I've known all these years, is that Rob LOVES his food, so this is not good. Not good at all. I feel so bad for him. You have to plan to do a repeat soon, and his jaw has to be all healed. Great update!

You sure are right there, Jill ::yes:: :P

At least he found some stuff he liked. :thumbsup2

We are crossing fingers and toes for an Alaskan this summer ;)

I got behind....crazy week (I booked 11 cruise in the last week)!

well that is child abuse. I a so ashamed of you!

11 cruises? Nice! :woohoo:

Yup, mom of the year here :lmao:

I believe Mango was offered on our summer cruise, no? Or am I just thinking of the Wonder? I would have to check my photos. Keep checking every day because they change them every few days ::yes::

I'm with you! I loved Mary Poppins Returns!

RIGHT???!!!! :rolleyes1 :thumbsup2 :cool1:

OMG that is hilarious! A real slice of island life and a true authentic memory!

Mmmm! I'll be on the Wonder in 3 weeks (!) and hoping they bring this one out!

Aw man, that totally sucks! I hope his jaw starts to feel somewhat better!

I haven't seen it yet. We are still going to try and see it as a family, but if not, I assume it will be on the Wonder!

Now that image is so awesome! A dark room, Christmas lights, and Star Wars!

Yes, very memorable!

Oooh three weeks?? NICE!!! Have fun :cool1:

It was the night where they showed it in the Walt Disney Theatre as the headliner show and while it wasn't a premiere, it had just opened recently. :goodvibes

LOL, I thought so too and it was quiet too, no complainey tween :rotfl2:

HAHAAH, I vaguely remember that episode but forgot about it until you mentioned it.

Yes, Wayan was very awesome! :worship:

Yeah, I know it must be awkward but I know my kid and know what she likes and once she finally decided to go, she ended up loving it which is why I pushed her to go. She says she is shy and she is, a little bit, but it doesn't take much for her to get past that and I am so glad she finally gave it a go. :cool1:

We didn't see much of her on that last day. :rolleyes1

Love your report. Kira is such a cutie. Saying that, I am glad to be out of the tweens/teens age group. Our daughter is 21 and I am still recuperating from her teen years. Kate

Still recuperating? ACK! :crazy2:

Yes, we are lucky in that she is very much an introvert and a really good kid when you get past that tween attitude :goodvibes

Thanks for the words of encouragement  :thumbsup2

I get so excited when I see a new Cass update!! :cheer2: Loving it and I've got say, Christmas at sea does sound awesome!

Awww thanks Jen!

It sure is awesome! I hope to make it a tradition for as long as I can ::yes::

Aw such a great Christmas post!! Loved it. Best picture award? your barefeet and his socks, on the verandah. That is so you and Rob. :lovestruc And how funny, breakfast, (and it wouldn't be a Rob breakfast without a chocolate croissant, you go Rob, it was right there) right to the hot dog at the end, LOVE it. HAHAHA, it really does convey a thing or two about us :lmao:

LOL, all about the food on a cruise, right? ::yes::

I don't want it to end either :sad1: And I don't have another trippie to write about soon either :worried:

What a beautiful Christmas day!!!

Wow.....that is a lot of Christmas jammies :rotfl:

Loving all the characters in their Christmas attire! Yummmmm that brunch would be right up my alley! :thumbsup2 Dinner looked equally delicious :Pinkbounc:Pinkbounc

Where the heck did all the deck 4 chairs go???? That is our absolute favourite place to sit on any ship (unless we have a verandah). Did they come back? Do I need to riot in March if I can't find an empty one????:hyper::hyper::hyper:

Jammies as far as the eye can see :sail: :lmao:

I don't know, we checked every day, same amount of deck 4 chairs :sad2: I hope that's not the case for Alaska because if we do get to do, it will be an inside room so more time will be spent on deck 4. :scared:

Wonderful updates! It looked like a lovely Christmas Day! Congrats on winning the trivia game! :thumbsup2
About those missing chairs on deck 4... do you happen to know if they were removed mid-cruise or was it like that the whole time you were on the ship? That would be sad if there are now just less chairs on deck 4. :confused3 Everyone loves to sit on deck 4! (sorry... I think you answered this question above).
Gee, all those pajamas! I wasn't prepared for that lol.
Those ocean photos, they're so gorgeous, it's like you could just step out onto the water. :cloud9:
Yes, what an annoying light on the verandah. :sad2:
Oh, I love the characters in their holiday outfits! So cute and festive!
And wow, such annoying people in the hot tub/pool. It's too bad there wasn't anyone around, like a cast member,
that could tell them to please be mindful of other guests who also have a right to use the pool and hot tub.
Love your toes and socks in the ocean pic and Kira's Spider Man pic! :D
I just love that DCL Santa hat! Perfect for your dog! :dog:I have a small Santa hat for my cat. I took a pic of him in front of the Christmas tree some years back. He only had to put up with it that one time. Aw, that's so nice that Kira got in on the action at the Edge. It sounds like she had a good time. It's funny how these trips just last a week, but the memories last a lifetime. Loved your moonlight on the verandah pic. :cool2:
Oh, sad to see the goodbye letter. :( Never a happy sight.
It's also sad to see your TR coming to an end. I have enjoyed it so much and always looked forward to the updates. Well, I'm getting ahead of myself. It's not over yet!!!

Looks like a great Christmas! Figured Disney would do it right. I love all the characters dressed in holiday outfits. I did a placeholder on a cruise in Dec 2017 but I don’t think I’m going to be able to use it
We have a lot of trips planned this year and we own our own business so it’s not always easy to get away. Hope your travel home went smoothly. And that you have another trip planned to look forward to...that’s really the only way to live!

Yes, you absolutely need to update your resume’ to read TERRIFIC mom! :)

So, you actually “tossed your cookies”? Glad you only dropped them instead. No need for another “Puker Kid”, right? (Sorry folks, little bit of a private joke).

Glad you thought of me when you saw that pic. Could you imagine if they had one where Timon was hugging Jiminy Cricket?? I’d pay just about anything for that one.

My biggest complaint, which I report on every survey, are the missing deck chairs!!! The last few cruises I’ve been on (Fantasy and Dream) are lacking big time on those. Now I see the Wonder is following suit. Grrrrr

So nice of Kira to make room in her schedule to join you for trivia! Whahahahahaha haha!!!!

You don’t even know how happy I was to read that you had an awesome Christmas. You soooo deserve one, finally.
.

Christmas at sea sounds amazing. I love how you just had a totally relaxing day...but it sucks that it is time to go home.

I believe Mango was offered on our summer cruise, no?

Oh maybe? I can't remember. I know we got mango at sweet on you.

Totally off topic but I am hoping you can answer my question. What do you do so disboards allow you to post more than ten photos? It stops me at ten, saying I have reached my limit.

Thanks,
Kate

Between the holidays and work, I am JUST now reading this TR. Wonderful as always.

Bummer to hear about the Turtle Farm. I'd always been curious.

Every trip has Kira looking more and more grown up. And the comments about the phone. Sheesh. As a middle school teacher, that struggle is so real.

Thanks for sharing!

It has to do with the number of total posts you have. Evidently you don't have enough to do more than 10 photos per post.

Wonderful updates! It looked like a lovely Christmas Day! Congrats on winning the trivia game! :thumbsup2

I think the deck chairs were like that the entire cruise but I can't be 100% certain. :scratchin

There were a couple of CM's near the pool that night, you can see one in one of my pics but they didn't seem to notice or care. :sad2:

LOL! I don't think my Boo would even let me near her with that Santa hat :rotfl2:

Yup, not over yet. We spent some time in Galveston after the cruise ;)

Sorry to hear that you won't be able to use your placeholder :(

Yup, this whole trip went smoothly, for us at least. More to come on that :p

We don't have another trip planned yet but I am crossing my fingers and toes for a kid-free Alaskan cruise in the summer. And then crossing them again for Christmas #4 on the Wonder. :wizard::wizard:

I'm also trying NCL this Fall for the first time but won't be writing a trip report for that one, just probably posting pics on my FB page.

LOL I tossed my cookies!!! :lmao: I didn't even think of that! You are so funny! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Timon & Jiminy!!!! :love::love:

I guess I never noticed the chairs or lack thereof, until this cruise. :scared:

Yes, very kind of her, eh? :rolleyes1

Thanks babe! It really was the best Christmas Day

Yes, 6 nights is way too short :crazy2:

Hmm, I think I am probably thinking of the Wonder...I bet you guys will get it too :thumbsup2

I am relatively certain that it is because you are uploading your photos directly to the DIS and not hosting them on another site. I believe they limit you to 10 photos per post when you do that, otherwise, it's 35 ::yes::

Well, I am just glad you found me

Yeah, I was just looking at my 2017 xmas trippie, she really does look very different, huh? ::yes::

Man, you must deal with that issue a lot! :earseek:

I *think* it's because they are uploading their photos directly on this site...could be wrong though. :scratchin
