Hello! I tried posting this message yesterday, but I must've done something incorrectly since it hasn't appeared on the thread. I have booked my flights and will be flying out of San Francisco on October 1 and landing at Heathrow on October 2 at 6:52 am with my return out of Charles de Gaulle on October 14. I'm using DVC points for our pre and post stays. Before the adventure, we'll be staying at the Royal Garden Hotel in London. The inventory for the post-stay in not yet available.

Some folks expressed interest in setting up an informal chat group on Skype to talk about the trip, sharing our thoughts and previous trip experiences, and plan for the times when we're on our own. This was very helpful for our China ABD Trip last year. How about setting up our first Skype call for Sunday, February 17 at 1 pm (Pacific Time)? On Skype, I am mouseketeer.michael.

Looking forward to chatting with folks!

I'll be there! I'm doing research this week for airfare and extracurriculars in Paris.

We arrive on the 2nd as well at 7:25am. Leaving on the 13th.

Looking into the possibility of going over to Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey) or up to the WB (Harry Potter) Studio. We’d also love to arrange a high tea if anyone else would be interested.

I’ll try to make the Skype!

Looking forward to meeting everyone. High Tea sounds great. This will be our second trip to London. We spent 3 weeks in London a few years ago. One of the places we want to visit is Harrolds department store. There food hall is amazing.

I definitely want to attend a high tea.

we will be there for three nights prior to the start of the Adventure

There will most likely be a live Podcast recording on one of the days before we get started.

I can't I've more info as i don't have more info...but fairly certain this will happen.

We will be arriving on Thursday 10/3 and leaving Sunday 10/13. We will be up for whatever is planned preABD time. I will try to Skype in on Sunday, I found it very helpful for the China trip and it was great already recognizing faces when we met.

Hello! We had a very pleasant Skype chat on Sunday with a few Adventurers. We are fortunate that a few have been to London and Paris before and could share their experiences. We discussed a some possible plans prior to the adventure and when we are not with our ABD guides.

For October 3, some of us are looking to book a High Tea. It could be more difficult for a large group, so we hope to discuss a time and location during our next chat.

There was interest in possibly taking in a play or musical. Here's a link to what's being offered: http://www.playbill.com/article/schedule-of-upcoming-london-shows

We are looking at taking the Warner Brothers Studio Harry Potter Tour on October 4. We'd like to schedule the 10 am tour to give us plenty of time to return for the ABD dinner. I've been told it's a fascinating tour whether you have only a passing interest in the books and films or if you are planning to pack your house robes and wand. In London on Day 2, dinner is on our own. There was interest in the soon-to-open Davies & Brook. Link: https://www.claridges.co.uk/restaurants-bars/davies-and-brook/

Since we'll be at the Eiffel Tower on October 8 (Day 5) and we are to have lunch on our own, we thought it would be fun to eat in the Jules Verne Restaurant, which will be newly refurbished. Link: https://www.restaurants-toureiffel.com/en/jules-verne-restaurant/lunch.html

Dinner is on our own on October 9 (Day 6). If you're a fan of the film "Midnight in Paris," you might want to eat at Epicure. Link: https://www.oetkercollection.com/hotels/le-bristol-paris/restaurants-bar/restaurants/epicure/

Hopefully, I got all these dates sorted out properly. For anyone who would like to join in the conversation and planning, we plan to meet for another Skype call on Sunday, April 28 at 1 pm (PT).
