Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Hello everyone. What would be the best "hub" park while staying at CBR? To be real specific, next week during Marathon weekend would HS make more sense to use as a hub over Epcot? I know HS's bus stops were or are being renovated and that might make a difference in user friendliness. And I'll just throw this idea out there also, would Disney Springs be a better option than either HS or Epcot? Thanks.

DHS definitely since it is only 5 minutes from CBR.:)

And ANYWHERE but Disney Springs!lol:)

Hi everybody!
We will stay at the CBR in March. I logged just into our disney account to look for the room requests. I have had 3 options. Martinique, near transportation and corner room.
Now i saw, all this construction is right next to the Martinique village, but i think it's nice that Martinique is so close to the main area.
If you stayed here in the last few weeks, would you recommend to choose Martinique or would it be better to call them and request another village?
What would be the area you would recommend?

Thank you in advance:thanks:

Because POR in general more popular than CBR. And with the way CBR was a shell of itself during the construction, it drove people away. Now that she is back in all her glory, the news hasn't gotten out yet so they are offering the discount to fill the empty rooms.
Well, their loss is our gain, right?

What room type did you book?

We booked a:
Room Type: Standard View

Are there every room type in each of those villages? I tried to find something comparable to the deckplans of the cruise ships to see where different room types are located. But i couldn't find anything.

If you pay for a touringplans.com subscription when they ask you to select a room request it sends you to another page that shows you a layout of the resort. It will even let you sort by room type, levels, noise, distance to OPR and pool, etc. Pretty awesome.

Unfortunately that tool is very inaccurate when it comes to room types.

No. Martinique and Barbados have Preferred, Water View and King rooms only. So with a Standard View booked, Martinique would be a wasted request.

There isn't anything that is accurate. But this should help .

Martinique - Preferred, Water View, King
Barbados- Preferred, Water View, King
Jamaica - Standard, Water View, King
Aruba - Standard, Water View, King
Trinidad - Pirate Themed, Pirate Themed Water View

For the past couple of years we have stayed in Jamaica. Last year they changed the bus route. Is Jamaica still the first one picked up and dropped off? What is the current bus route ?

Thank you very much! That helps a lot :)

I have a preferred room booked. As far as I understand it, that means we will be anywhere in Martinque or Barbados. So that would be buildings 24, 25 and 26 (Martinque) or buildings 31, 32 or 33 (Barbados). Are any of the buildings better than others? Should I avoid 24 in Martinique and 33 in Barbados because they are the farthest from the central hub? Where do the buses to the parks leave from?

Correct.

They all have good points, so to us it really wouldn't matter. If you look at the map in the link below you will see that 24 and 33 are really close to both the leisure pool and bus stop. And by "far" both 24 and 33 are about a 3 minute stroll and a very leisurely pace to OPR and the Main Feature pool.

Where do the buses to the parks leave from?

Every Village has it's own bus stop. You can see the bus stop locations in the map link I posted above.

I saw that the Island Markets were removed. What about the Freestyle machines? Are they still in each village?

Bus route is Martinique - OPR - Barbados - Trinidad - Jamaica - Aruba
During busy morning period Jamaica and Aruba have there own bus for going to the parks.

We will be at CBR next month and this forum has been great with all the information! We have 3 water view rooms booked, all linked together so hopefully will be fairly close to one another (we requested when booking that two of the rooms be either adjoining or connecting). Can we still request a specific building with that many rooms? We are 6 adults and 3 small children and would like to be not too far from the pool and had been thinking ideally Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 as top choices.

Is the bridge across the lake open at this point making Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 a good choice for location to OPR. We will be eating an early breakfast there at least two days in order to rope drop. I have a water view room with 2 queens and a Murphy booked. When is a good time to call resort asking for either of these two buildings. I know it’s not a sure thing but is it better to do now or closer to our June trip? Also I know the new OPR food court stops breakfast at 10:30 and has no lunch. Does Disney have any plans of opening it for lunch or will the pool bar be our best bet for an early lunch? Two days we will attempt to sleep in and then eat an early lunch at resort before going to park at 4.
