Deluxe Resorts Sold Out for Dec 2019 Already?

So, I'm swapping e-mails with our travel agent and we were ready to finally take the plunge and stay in one of the Deluxe resorts (I've wanted to stay in the Contemporary since I was a kid) and...apparently they're completely sold out Nov 30 to Dec 7th of 2019. Is it normal for stuff to be completely booked up this far in advance?

Probably anticipation of SWGE opening around that time.
Once the opening date is officially announced you can count on lots of rooms opening up depending on what the opening date is vs when you'd like to travel.

Have you gone online and checked? Maybe adjust your dates slightly and see the difference in availability. I tried both Nov 29-Dec 6 and Nov 30 to Dec 7th and found various deluxe available.

We're looking at Nov 30 to Dec 7th (Late enough for the holiday decorations to be up, but not so close to Christmas for the parks to be COMPLETE insanity)

You could easily go a bit sooner than that and still see all the Christmas stuff and still avoid the crowds.
If you want to go from a Saturday to Saturday how about November 16th to 23rd?
That would be after F&W/Jersey week/Veteran's Day.... but before Thanksgiving.

I can look into it, but I'm coordinating between when three adults can get off work, so the dates aren't hugely flexible

Oh ok. Your other post focused on Christmas decor and crowd levels so that's why I suggested it. Didn't realize there were work schedules to work around.

Oh yeah, Disney vacation for adults, there's a lot of moving parts involved :P

It's pretty easy for my husband to get off, but my brother and I have to borderline go to war in order to take time off

Yea, check the website yourself. Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk, Animal Kingdom & Grand Floridian all have rooms available for those dates. Yes, Contemporary only has a suite available. But all deluxe are not sold out. And if you cut off the last Friday & go Nov 30 - Dec 6th, even more rooms available, including Contemporary.

Have you also considered a split stay? Dividing between 2 resorts can help open up availability and also reduce costs (I’d strongly recommend WL or AKL, as those are my favorite Christmas decorations). I’d also stick to the week you proposed because then you know all the Christmas stuff will be up-some resorts don’t get finished with decorations until right before Thanksgiving.

We originally thought about that time as well but have a feeling that it will still be CRAZY because of how late Thanksgiving falls next year.

I just checked and found a lot of availability for 11/30-12/7. The BC, WL & CR only had one room type available (BC water view, WL courtyard view, CR a suite), but all of the other deluxes had several room categories available.
But when CR is what your heart is set on it can be hard to "settle". I know how OP feels since CR has been my white whale since I was a small child and this summer I'm finally staying there.

I understand not settling if your heart is set on a certain resort, but the OP said all deluxe resorts are sold out, which isn't the case. I was just responding that there are several deluxe options (with the CR having availability as well, just at a more expensive option of a suite).

I understand but in the post they then specified.

Maybe the OP should change the thread title. It does read as all deluxe hotels are sold out. And I also took her post to mean that CR was 1 of the resorts she wanted, not the only option. In either case, I think it is ok to clarify that there are indeed deluxe resort rooms available, so anyone else who reads the thread won’t get incorrect information.
