DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

'Morning all...
Only a half day of work and then I'm out'a here.
Headed up into the mountains to eye-witness a rumored commencement ceremony.
Once he crosses that stage we'll know the answer to at lease one question...
Just what the final balance and amount due will be.

Congratulations to all of you! I'm sure it will be a proud day.

Yesterday I got to visit the ER:eek:. For the last six weeks ( I put up a fence and then it all started) I've been having sharp neck and chest muscle pains and yesterday it went to my back, I got up and could not stand straight for 3 hours:sick:, . After getting a shot, some meds and the next 3 days off I should live :dancer:. I probably should have got it looked at sooner but but did not want to ruin last weekends Dis trip:confused3. Next time I have to do a big job like that I think I will let someone else do it:scratchin

Rest up, hope you recover quickly.

I'm not sure whether to  or

But congrats to the graduate!

Underwriters are a monstrous pain.
Every little thing gets questioned and then re-questioned.
It amazes me that property ever gets bought or sold.
(unless that's just how they treat regular folk and there's a totally different process for corporations and the wealthy)

Guess we don't have those up here.
When I sold our last house, I had people give me offers, I picked the one I liked, told them to up their bid by $5,000 (to match the higher bid... but people I didn't care for) and they did.
Think it was all done in a few days.

Rest up and take it easy, dude.

Thanks for all the condolences and well wishes guys.

Considering the this too shall pass statement/concept...the same can be said about kidney stones, but it sure hurts like ____ when it's passing.

Is it illegal to send them a present when it's all done?...there are cows around and I could send them about 100 lbs of what they're giving me or they're full of.

I can confirm that.

Hmm... that is actually a good question. Surely it is legal to transport manure... But can you mail it? You can mail bio-matter, so... maybe?

Glad it's Friday. Overnight trip to distance site yesterday for a 3 hour facilitation. Drove back home today. It was a 460 mile trip, today almost all in the rain. I am tired. It's a good pizza and beer night.

It's a she shed.

She still says no to Canada, and may even boycott Epcot Canada.

Congrats to the boy and to the parents for paying off college again? I keep encouraging the military, technical school, or teaching university to my girls.

That's why I try to avoid physical work as much as possible. I hope you feel better soon.

I hope everything works out with the house, from the pics you showed me Sat, it is really nice:thumbsup2

It was great to meeting up with you and your wife at HS it was fun:cool1:

Hope to see you guys again in Feb:wave: (we have 6am flight out of NJ to Orlando and taking Magicial Express, this time our 1st day will be a before noon start time:woohoo:)
It was a lot of fun. Sorry we had to bail on y'all, but I get up really early so end up going to bed early also. The fact we'd been there since almost rope drop may have factored in...maybe! Just a bit disappointed...neither of us thought to take a picture, so ride photos will have to suffice. Still bummed I couldn't get rebel spy t-shirt

Just give us the dates and we can work it out.

Give R a hug from us and H a handshake(given their preferences)

Sorry about your back/neck. I knew you said it had been bothering you, but I didn't realize it was that bad. Hope you feel better soon.

Morning all.

Looks like a one day December heat wave up here, +4 today!!!

Two sport weekend for us. Our crosstown rival is hosting their annual basketball tournament this weekend. On the boys side there are six teams, two pools of three. The pool our boys (3rd ranked in NB) play in consists of one of the top 5 basketball prep schools in Canada and the top ranked team in NB while the hosts (2nd ranked in NB) have two NB teams that struggle to make the rankings and haven't come close to beating any of the top teams yet this year. Needless to say our two pool games went pretty much as expected, got smoked by the prep school and lost by 13 to the top NB team. That means a 5th place game tomorrow.

That also means that DS won't be playing as club volleyball provincials are today and tomorrow. So later today we will head off for that. It also allows us to kills two birds with one stone, staying at my parents place and delivering them some Christmas gifts.

Have a good one all.

Survived tennis this AM. Between my knees and back, I'm just perpetually hurting. I need a giant hot tub or a massage.

Youngest played a double header for freshman basketball this am. Not much playing time the first game, second game had 3 points, maybe 10 rebounds, a couple assists and blocks. Hopefully, she convinced the coach to give her more playing time.

...Shining at the end of every day!

Congrats again.

Full week at work for me so for all of you who have little/no work the remainder of the year, count your blessings.
Same for me. Work all this week. But done Friday until the new year. Yippeee!!

I spent the weekend with DW trying to finish up all the indoor Christmas decorating and baking. We're really behind this year compared to most years since she's working now almost every day at the Hallmark store - the first time she's worked in 12 years, so it's an adjustment for us. Normally by mid-December everything is done, certainly the decorating and baking. But I'm happy about the 2nd pay check coming in to help pay off the Christmas bills.

Morning All,

getting the front-end of a forecast storm this morning, just enough to make the driving a bit tricky so far.

Club volleyball has come to an end, the boys went in ranked 2nd and came out 4th, day two didn't go so well. I have to say I wasn't overly sad to see it end.

Finishing up the work year on Thursday but only because of colon viewing party I'm hosting on Friday. Really looking forward to the prep for that.

and on that note, have a good one all!

Top O the Mornin Dads! Been way too long and likely not gonna be able to catch up for a bit so prayers to those in need, congrats to those with new accomplishments and hope everyone is doing well this Holiday Season. Been a tough and crazy past couple of weeks. Thank you all again for your support with the passing of my Dad. DW's parents are better now with better being a relative term. MIL will be having hip surgery end of January so DW ghas her hands full with that. FIL currently has home care nursing taking care of infection / wounds he has in both legs and we are hoping he stays out of the hospital for Christmas. The day job has also thrown a curve ball as we have been working on a consolidation of two different business units into one. I have new and additional responsibilities within the new structure but unfortunately there were individuals that we had to say goodbye to. The organization put together a very good and fair package for those that the change affected but at this time of the year (there's never a good time) it was very hard as a member of leadership to have to manage through.

DS is home from school which I enjoy and DD and SIL will be back home between Christmas and New Years so really looking forward to enjoying the holidays with family and friends.

GO BEARS!

Nice.
Just about four more hours to go for me.

And today to finish up the shopping.

Definitely. One of the downsides of two jobs is limited time off. Scheduling these two weeks off is a nice break.

!

Colon viewing party? Is that a live viewing? Streaming on the internet? Hopefully, it's not smellovision.

Yes, it's never a good time, but at least they are doing a good severance package. Sadly, some aren't getting that.
