GF DVC folks a few news items today...

The soap dispensers that have been installed at other Disney resorts will make their way to DVC rooms soon.

GF DVC rooms are scheduled for refurbs in 2021.

So will it be the DVC rooms only or will the entire resorts eventually receive them? Do you know?

View attachment 369786 Hi everyone, just wanted to say we checked into Main BuikBuil Royal Palm Club room 4402 today!! Currently in the lounge having some apps and listening to the band before heading to the Christmas party. If anyone has any questions or things you want me to check on, just let me know.

Enjoy!!!

Hey quick note I noticed on my recent stay.....the Angry Orchards somehow became Happy Orchards after oh 4 or so of them were in my belly.....:rotfl2:

New pull down beds too - courtesy of Wil Lovato.

I like the sound of the pull down beds! From the look of it, it'll keep the sofa there too which will be cool. The sofa beds are so bad!!

I'm having a super stressful time with real life right now and what I wouldn't give to have a too thin sofa bed be the biggest problem!! Roll on February!!!

It’s finally here, our first DVC stay at the Grand Floridian. Two 2 bedroom villas for 6 nights (18 people are we nuts? Possibly).

We have stayed at the Grand hotel side for years, but purchased two DVC contracts earlier this year and finally using them. Beyond excited!

Have a great time! :wizard:

Just returned home from a lovely YC/GF split stay.

The Grand was wonderful as usual, but I have to say the crowds were much worse this December IMO compared to years past. I am not sure if it was the 20th anniversary of the gingerbread house or what, but it was chaotic at times to navigate the resort lobby. The monorail security lines stretched far into the lobby daily/nightly which I guess I can only compare to last year. Elevators seemed overwhelmed and visitors did not hold the door open button numerous times and doors closed on people with strollers/scooters/etc before they could even board. The Grand Floridian Cafe even seemed overwhelmed every time I entered the main building.

I was sad to see that the gingerbread house pin and GF ornament were both sold out. I was told the ornament will be back in stock in April, but I will have to look to eBay for the pin.

With all that said, I could not complain about my room in Big Pine Key. It was ready early and my late check-out was approved. Housekeeping and turndown provided ample toiletries and chocolates and were completed everyday before I got back to the room for a break. Citricos was absolutely fantastic and was hands down the best meal of the trip (if not best out of all my visits to WDW). I miss it so much already and can't wait for Sugarloaf in March. :cloud9:

Nothing new or earth shattering below that isn’t well-documented by thousands of guests and bloggers already, but DW and I took a stroll (from YC through Epcot then via monorail) over to the GF this weekend and captured a few pics. We had never seen the holiday display in the lobby before, so wanted to check it out.

Admittedly it was 10:30am on a Saturday so probably not a fair account of the ebbs and flows of crowds on any given day, but I have to agree with @PolyRob above in that the lobby was pretty darn crazy busy at that moment in time. The line to buy anything in the gingerbread house was starting to wrap down the hall towards the gift shop, so we passed. Fortunately the PhotoPass line for the tree was only 10-15 deep, which was manageable.

Definitely beautiful and I’m glad we took the time to visit. Not very efficient but we opted to walk over to Poly to hop on the monorail when leaving vs deal with the GF monorail line. I’m sure that too way more time but we enjoy the stroll and got to stop at Poly for a bit too, so bonus.

Happy you had a great time!! Sorry it was so crowded. But I must say, It’s so sad to leave GF!! I’m literally counting down the days till I get back!!

I got home today and felt like I had been transported to the GF, no joke, my wife and youngest were working on small gingerbread houses throughout the weekend and I’m totally surprised of the scent, literally you could close your eyes and just smell and imagine you were in the lobby of the GF!!!!!

Only a bit quieter!!!

I love your room too and made a note of the number from another post of yours. Someone may have all ready asked this but I couldn't find it...is this room a bookable category for Sugarloaf? Or just a room number request? I'm curious because we stayed there this past February and would love to go back. This room would work great for the fam! TIA!

Agreed! I still love staying here around the holidays. I get to enjoy the wonderful decorations early in the morning and late at night and take it all in when others aren't around. I booked a GF bounceback during my stay so I have my countdowns going.

It is a “Deluxe” room, I had a standard room booked and was given this one, a bit of “Pixie Dust”. If it DOESN’T show up online maybe try calling and specify that room or category REQUEST, it’s nice getting the extra space for sure.

That’s wonderful! When do you plan on heading back?
