Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

We are leaving in the morning from our stay at the CBR. We couldn’t have been happier. We are in Martinique. Best for buses because of first pickup and drop off. Close to OPR. Only took us about 2 minutes to walk to get food. The buses were great. I was so nervous about the buses because of all that I had been reading. The longest we waited was this morning for about 15 for the MK bus to come. Same with pick up from the parks. Usually it was 5 minutes tops. We ate at Cetertown 4 times. One night we waited about 20 minutes for our food. The others it was about 10. It was good. My baby has a dairy allergy and he is still nursing. Which means I can’t have dairy. So I am not the best judge. Lol. Mine was always fine. We had no room checks that I’m aware of. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask.

what category did you reserve?

"room check"? What's that all about? Somebody please help me out. Thanks.

A CM will enter your room every day, even if you opt out of housekeeping. If you get housekeeping then that will count as the room check. They have removed the Do Not Disturb signs and replaced them with Room Occupied signs. This is property wide, not just a CBR thing.

Interesting! I have nothing to hide but...why? Safety precautions?

My understanding from the Room Check thread is that most folks think it’s a safety precaution put into place after the Las Vegas shooting. Because the shooter was in the room declining housekeeping for a few days so now a lot of hotels in general are changing their protocols to avoid having something like that happen. I saw a lot of folks in that thread thinking that was the reason for daily room checks at all Disney resorts but I don’t know that there was an “official” reason ever given for the room checks though

I see. Makes sense, especially when you consider the non housekeeping option is becoming more popular. Thanks.

Just got home from 9 days at CBR. We booked Standard Room, get got a room in Martinique building 25 (room 2502 with a great decorated window for Christmas!)! If/when we stay there again, I will always book preferred! Was a great walk to OPR and the buses. The one time we got the bus from OPR it was packed! We opted out of Mousekeeping and did have daily checks, one time hubby was there and they knocked and asked if they could come in. They came in and walked through the room, flushed the toilet, thanked hi and left. Another time, we came back to all the room lights on and our dirty towels, bath mat and trash/recycle gone. No big deal to us! OPR is so beautiful and smells amazing! Our laundry room had a give/take pile, that was wonderful. Did not hear anything from Riviera or Skyliner construction. Totally a great time there!

I just returned from a 6-night trip with my mom (73). We stayed in Trinidad which was a wonderful location. Close to 2 rapid fill locations (Freestyle in our building plus actual coffee at Spyglass Grill). We were in building 34 which was an easy walk to/from buses, island pool, and Spyglass Grill. The internal buses were frequent for simple trips to OPR. Only negative was that morning buses tended to fill up before our stop (esp. cumbersome since mom was on an ECV) but there a bus attendant who would request extra buses when needed.

The Pirate room was cute but not so over-the-top that us "older" guests didn't enjoy it. I would have preferred one of the newly updated rooms but they were plenty clean and had everything we needed.

Centertown had decent food and we didn't have the long waits others experienced early on. We were able to walk into Sebastian's Bistro without a reservation one evening without a wait. We only ordered a couple of appetizers and really enjoyed the crab cake.

I have to admit that we prefer the smaller resorts but we really had a great stay at CBR and would definitely recommend it. The Spyglass Grill addition made Trinidad a great location. We prefer the quiet pool and mostly ate at the parks/Disney Springs so we didn't need to spend much time at OPR.

Cool Skyliner Pin now being given to CBR Guests!:)

https://wdwnt.com/2018/12/guests-at...rt-receive-complimentary-disney-skyliner-pin/

This is a very cool and unique pin, and guests who stay at the Caribbean Beach Resort are sure to enjoy this complimentary keepsake. The word is still out if this pin is given to every guest, or if will be given to select guests.

I need some help knowing what rooms to request.

It’s 3 adults (me, my sister, our mom) and 5 children (5,6,6,6,10). We added on a night to the beginning of our package so that night is a preferred room. The next 4 nights are in a water view. We really would like connecting rooms. I tried looking on touring plans and it looked like the only connecting were standard view. We don’t care much about the view but just don’t really want a parking lot view. Can anyone help?
We check in next Wednesday so I need to get this sent in!

There are connecting rooms in both the Preferred and Water View categories. With the Water View you definitely won't be looking at the parking lot. If you want connecting rooms I would make that your only request. Call the Main Reservation line and ask that the 2 rooms be linked as traveling with and then request connecting.

We had connecting water view rooms in Preferred (Barbados 33).

Thank you! Calling today!

I booked a Preferred Room at CBR for three days in the second full week of February, just prior to President's Day Weekend. We arrive late in the evening on Day 1, spend all day at Animal Kingdom on Day 2, and all day at Magic Kingdom on Day 3. If the weather is warm enough, we might venture to the pool a bit on Day 4 before checking out. We'd like to use the bus system to arrive at the parks at least 30 minutes early for rope drop.

Two questions:
1. Because we specific 2 adults and 3 kids, are we automatically slotted for a murphey bed room or should I specially request?
2. Based on our plans, I really just want a room with the best bus access to and from the parks for rope drop. Is there any section of CBR that's better in that regard?
