Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I know, it's depressing...lol. Hopefully I'll be able to narrow down some dates and book something. Planning is half the fun for me, so that will help with the Disney blues :goodvibes.

Hope you have a great trip! Looking forward to hearing all about it when you return :).

I agree!!! Thank you! Not CL this trip, still have a few more months, we’re DVC this one. You probably won’t be that interested.

No one here wants to hear about the ‘Dark Side’ :darth::laughing:

I'm such a huge fan of packing light, I Don't even know where my full-sized suitcase is- I think one of the offspring took it to college. I can basically travel for an indefinite number of days with a carryon, as long as it doesn't involve cold weather where I'd need thick sweaters, etc. Once I did Europe for 3 weeks in the summer, it was not a problem. My secret is picking the right fabrics and being willing to wash/dry clean clothes if I have to, which most times I don't.

If I buy stuff I have it shipped home so I don't have to pay sales tax.

I check the bag on my way back home (never on the way out, in case it gets lost or delayed) just to avoid schlepping it through the airport, but learning to live without luggage is very liberating. My one weakness is shoes, but they don't take up that much space. DH packs even less than I do, so he's always got space for a pair!

Wow, that’s great!!! Must be nice not having to worry about lugging around suitcases! I need a full sized suitcase! I don’t know what I’d do without it! Even my toiletry bag is big :scared:

We are booked main bldg Grand Floridian in 27 days. I just noticed that there are 1 bdrm suites open during our trip and I am wondering if I should upgrade us to one of those (we are a party of 5). Opinions? Will I hate losing the RPC and main building ambience

I might need someone to correct me here, but I am under the impression the 1BR suites are mostly in various outer buildings. You have access to the RPC lounge (and the SL lounge too, I think, although this is one of those details that seems to have changed over time and I can't remember the current info). You may already know/be on top of those details. I have not personally stayed in an outer building suite, but being disconnected from the lounge like that doesn't really fit our particular style so it likely wouldn't be my first choice. Sure, the suite is probably awesome... but we enjoy the lounge and prefer it to be relatively close.

Hopefully someone corrects me if I have my facts wrong about the locations of the 1BRs.

Whatever you do, enjoy your trip! (I vote keep main building)

So, I fully intended to book WL last night, and somehow I ended up with CR Atrium CL...I'm not exactly sure how that happened? :confused3

Your posts about caring for ailing parents makes my heart ache for each of you...it's not an easy road. This January trip is a bit of a "Mulligan" Trip for me...our last family trip to WDW was last April. About a week before the trip, my dad had a fall (although he had an underlying infection which contributed to the fall). Things were touch and go, but he stabilized enough for me to go since I didn't really want to cancel on the kids (it had been 2 years since we had a family vacation), plus I'm fortunate that my siblings and I pull together well so I knew he was in good hands. Anyway, when I returned, he took a turn for the worse. I took care of him until he passed at the start of summer. We enjoyed our April trip, but it was a stressful time and I was definitely in a bit of a fog.

The funny thing is, the only "airplane', week-long vacation we ever took when I was a kid was WDW in 1977. We stayed at the Contemporary and my dad LOVED it! I have such vivid memories of that trip, so maybe it makes sense if we end up here for my birthday trip?

Of course, this morning there appears to be a lot more availability for some reason, so not sure if I should keep it or move to a less expensive option...I've never stayed CL at the Contemporary so just not sure, it would definitely be a big splurge...if anyone has any thoughts on the subject feel free to share...

@CogsworthTN, I hope you have a wonderful trip with your dad and family - AKL is so lovely and there is nothing like watching all of those animals from your balcony to relax and recharge! Sending healing thoughts...

@TheFloatingBear
I hear your pain about CR CL.
We're starting our February trip at CR CL, then switching to AKL, non CL but Kidani villas, Savannah view.
And then, staying one night only at FW in the cabins to do everything there, including HDDR, Chip and Dale, and riding the horses for DGS. I can't believe we're doing that much resort hopping. I did not want the hassle of AKLs bus transportation back and forth to Fort Wilderness. It's almost like, "You can't get there from here!", Lol.
Anyway, the point of my soliloquy, is to say, CR CL is sooooooo incredibly convenient!
I'm looking forward to pretty much no busing except one day coming back from HS. (Most of our days are at MK that week, plan to do EMM at HS, so will take an Uber or Lyft in the am, bus back.
Enjoy your trip!!!

@ConnecticutNonna, three moves will be a challenge, but almost no busing is fantastic! We love AKL, but we ruled it out because of the distance for this trip since it's a short trip. You're right about CR being convenient...

But you definitely bring up one of the factors...it's a four night trip and two nights will be in the Epcot area - one Epcot night and we're toying with doing the HS DAS event to get in HS without park hoppers. I was standing firm in my "no park hoppers stance" for this trip, but if we're at the CR, I can't imagine not going to MK at some point every day? So that savings goes out the window! :rotfl:I can get a CL room at Boardwalk for almost half the price this morning - and we love BW - so that seems more "logical," but I don't seem to be doing it...

The outer building suites only get access to one or the other and is assigned based on building location.

Olden days you got both.

However I have never seen which buildings get which cl????

@WDWDancer I would keep the RPC myself unless space is a priority.

Its a tough choice. I like the building location, I like the location of the lounge to all the atrium cl rooms and I love the modern decor of the lounge and rooms. Not my cup of tea at home but such a contrast to the other resorts.

CM's are handy there. The cm desk and back room are close so if you need anything, someone is nearby.

Food for breakfast for me seems relatively close for all resorts except sundays at BWI.

Midday they only have snack mix and cookies etc. No meal items like soup (GF)or lettuce wraps(poly). Evening tho they have soup, a hot meal in a pot(steak and potatoes, salmon and broccoli) plus the usual cheese, veggies etc.

The wine was better than GF and Poly. Meiome Pinot Noir was nice for them to have.

Desserts are good and do vary slightly each day.

Its cool to look over the wall to the atrium below. All rooms up there have a balcony and a great view, NO WORRIES THERE.

Downside is price price price!

I forgot about Sundays at BW! I know I read about it on this thread at some point! We were only there for a couple days and didn't hit on a Sunday! I do seem to recall that they had nice little sandwiches at lunch too, but I could be mistaken...I posted above that I thought it was almost "half the price," but I looked again more closely and that's a regular garden view (no CL)...the BWI CL room is a little over $200/night less than the CR CL, so still does add up...again even more so since I'll end up with park hoppers and such!

Thanks for all of the details on the CR CL - good wine is an important detail! I agree it's tough to beat the location and the view (either side)! Plus the rooms are big and they all have day beds (I think?), which would make things easier with the kids...neither my husband nor my kids have stayed there either, which would be fun!

I have a 6 hour drive tomorrow to Lake Placid, NY, for a hockey tournament so I will have time to reflect on our choices! :-)

I have to tell you, I DO have three toiletries bags! :goodvibes Stuffed with tiny bits of all my 'essentials".
I haven't really worked out a good solution with how to pack the liquids, some of that is technically make-up. And my liquids bag is a piece of crap. Seriously, it's held together with staples all around the edges, and it's only a couple of years old. :rolleyes2 I have a 15 yo free Estee Lauder gift bag that is great for TSA, but a bit too small.

If someone has a lead on a sturdy, nice looking TSA approved liquids bag, let me know!

Speaking of which, I don't know if I mentioned this but YC CL had a mimosa station set up on Sunday AM when we were there earlier this month.

It was sort of awkward and sort of really convenient... right there in the hall outside the lounge. Almost impossible to pass up even when you had no intention of getting one. :-)

Oooooooohhhhh-
Well, as it happens, we're taking Sunday "off" from touring until the evening. :rolleyes1:teeth::rotfl::thumbsup2

Perfect! Brunch, nap...sounds great to me!
