How long have you had the biz? I'm curious why other's get this but I was approved. Had AS personal not a year old with 10k limit and a relationship foelr awhile even though my previous card had been closed. Used to bank with them years ago. Only put biz income no extra. So weird. Is a rental and maybe that makes a dif.

I think I used 7/2017 as the open date. I've been using the 1 or 1-2 yr options on my other cards as it was about last summer that I started selling on a semi-regular basis. I'm thinking it's either the category of retail and/or the low revenue, 1k, that's triggering it. But it's not like I'm collecting tons of DPs on the subject so I could be wildly off :) Part of me at this point is thinking this is trying to weed out the "businesses". I half thought about picking the 'other' category but wasn't sure if that would be better or worse.
I've had my first BoA card for 15+ years, but I never use it. I put one charge on it last year to keep it from closing when they sent me the inactivity letter. I opened my second last year and I've put some spend on it, but nothing major. That's my NCL card I was targeted for so I'm sure that factored in even though I wasn't really using the other card.

I have the Chase Southwest Plus card. that I just paid off, and I am planning to cancel it mid December to set me up for January 2021 to get it again and get the Southwest Bus card to get companion pass for 2021-2022

I also have the Barclays Apple rewards card that I used to purchase my iPhone 8, and pay 0% interest for 18 months. I was approved for it in late September.

and I canceled a US bank REI credit card in spring of 2017. thats all the cards that I have and had.

If you want to get the SW CP again in January 2021...you have to be under Chases 5/24 rule..then...so you can’t appy for more that 4 personal credit cards from anyone from 1/19 onward to get approved for the SW cards

I just went to check my SW reservation for our flights to Orlando in June, and the prices haven't changed, but I just think this is so weird...Our flight is the only nonstop that day (from Sac), and it's literally less than half the points of the other flights! Would people really prefer to have a layover, rather than a 5 hour nonstop fight? I don't get it.:confused3

I've noticed that flights with stopovers or plane changes are usually more expensive on Southwest.

It's really great that the flight you actually want is the least expensive!

ok so play Chase and no one else ever again, or play everyone else and say goodbye Chase forever, right?

Not sure what you plan to use travel rewards for...sounds like you may fly SW and use the CP pass
I’ve started out with Chase since their UR rewards transfer 1-1 to SW rr points...and we fly SW a lot and have had the CP for years...
There are a lot of Chase business and personal cards you can start out with...alternating applications every 2-3 months and earn a lot of URs on a short amount of time...I’ve been doing this since May and between my husband and I have almost 400,000 URs
Really up to you which cards work best for your plans

So weird. Mine is 5-6 years since I started renting it out Jan 2013. I would guess it depends on the cat more with them since not all things are consistent which may be why they want the returns. I honestly expected them to ask me for more info and was surprised when they didn't. Seems like almost everyone here has been asked for more info from them.

Chase cards earning power is still a really good one. The next in the running is Amex cards. I still have a pretty big pool, i think i may blow them on some overwater bungalow via Chase Portal.

I don’t know if I would max it out but rather be able to apply for the freedom unlimited first.
If you're getting the CFU soon, that makes sense. If you think you can use the 1.5% while you wait to apply you can downgrade to the CFU and then PC it to a 2nd freedom when you're ready to apply for the unlimited. But if it's not going to be a long time then the extra .5% isn't going to matter for the hassle :)

I find that flying out of PIT. I think it is because the other legs, with stopovers in BWI, MDW, etc are more popular legs so the cheap rates on those parts of the flight sell out faster. When we flew to LAX, the non-stop was always less than flights that stopped/changed in vegas or Phoenix.

More people are flying into BWI from all over to connect to MCO, while fewer people go straight from our airport to MCO.

I saw that about only using the 4th night free twice per year and Doc also posted that they are doing away with points being 1.25 when redeemed for airline purchases. If that's the case, I'll be getting it for the sign up bonus again and that's it. Whew, for once there's a premium card I'm not interested in keeping long term.
The 4th night free only twice a year is not a deal breaker for me. I mean I can’t take that many 4+ day vacations anyway. If I did take multiple vacations, I would be paying for most with points not cash.
Not sure the rest is that exciting either for $495

Can you tell us where you want to go? Disney, Hawaii, Bali? Somewhere else? We can point you in the right direction that way...

I am have a buddy who has been working credit cards for 5 years and, I am ready for a new challenge. I mainly fly out of the south to the north east, and out West, however I want to to earn the points to have the opportunity to fly to Europe, Hawaii, and the Caribbean as well. I understand the 5/24 rule. but I am wiling to fly delta, spirit, jetblue, frontier, and American to have more chances to earn more points with different cards all around. I Know chase is best. I just want to make its not worth it to work all the other cards over chase, it may be more work, and the points will not be as flexible like UL points, but it might be more points overall, and less money I have to spend to get more points.
