But lots of folks have never had the initiative or they just stay in their Disney hotel and hoof over for a couple days. I think this might push more folks to do like you do, or even just to stay at one of the newer Universal hotels that look really nice and explore elsewhere on the darkside.

All the folks so fed up with FP+ and planning, not to mention the other more recent changes - I see this as another aggravating add on if you usually take longer trips but only do 4-5 days in Disney parks. If I had to buy tickets, I would be inclined to do split stays and take advantage of Universal pluses.

did that for the first time this last trip....our 1st 3 days at Universal ON Univ Property (Hard rock). The express pass was hands down the best thing ever—easy touring, hop back and forth on the fly and just go where/when we wanted. Sorry Disney you lost 3 full resort stay days of my vacation and prob a 4th next year—esp with all this ticket madness you are pulling. I can't physically travel any time other than summer, so your attempt to "better distribute attendance" isn't going to do anything for me except cost me more money.

I must not be understanding something about how this will work.

Ticket prices at WDW website show current approximate base ticket prices:
3rd day: $96
4th day: $76
5th day: $15
6th day: $10
7th day: $ 8

With $85 as a sample price showing in the video, that would mean a gigantic price increase for days 5+.

If the ticket price is going to be something like $85 for every day of my trip, 3-4 days will definitely become our limit.

Hoping to learn that my understanding of this is completely off-kilter....

My understanding is that the sample $85 is the initial cost, but decreases per day the longer you stay, the same way it currently does. Unclear how much it decreases.

Just making sure, if I have a package purchased with room, dining and tickets for June, but still have $2k to pay on it, am I still ok? Or does it have to be paid off by October 16th?

I have the same question. we returned a few days ago from disney. while there, we booked a free dining bounceback for late july /early august 2019 2 rooms at pop century with the quick service DDp free for 5 disney adults 2 disney kids and one 2 year old. with 8 day hopper with water parks and more. I assume our price is locked in and those tickets can't be altered as far as date requirements or go up in price? even if we don't pay by oct. 16? according to me reservation confirmations, we have until june 30, 2019 to pay.

The Disney video if you watch it shows same cost of $85 per day all 4 days ....

"$85" per day ... Disney video says it is per day and = $338.13 plus $21.98 tax = $360.11.

Which is less than tickets are now at $404.70 .......... hmmm, does this mean there will be more on the higher end or that we haven't seen the worse start days during peak times yet in the samples? No way they are actually reducing ticket prices overall.

So if it does reduce for more days as the graphic shows .... it must not start until after day 4.

Oh and the video also has a disclaimer that ... "Prices shown do not reflect actual pricing ..."

So will the start date prices be higher, lower ..... :confused3:confused3:confused3

I've done this once or twice with airline tickets, but it's been a while. I think I can figure it out again.
My main concern has been the mess that MDX has been in the past couple of weeks. I know there is a lot of time before my trip, but if I add ticket codes now, will they still be there when it's time for our trip, or will they disappear like so many FP's and ADR's have been recently disappearing? This is a genuine concern. I know that the recent problems have probably been linked to WDW systems preparing for the switchover, but MDX has always had random and sometimes extended periods of instability and I can only envision it happening more as the new ticket structures are further added and more experiences, rides, etc. are also added.

It seems my only choices are to get etickets now, or wait to see what prices are like after Oct. 16. I sincerely doubt prices will be better after the switchover, even though we're traveling before most spring breaks begin, so it seems etickets are the best course, even if I feel a bit uneasy (old school talking).
I don’t know why there is more risk of losing your tickets if you print them, than losing the hard-tickets themselves. I am a little old-school myself and was thinking of getting US studio hard tickets instead of the electronic ones just because they were refundable.

The price per day decreases the more days you add with the new pricing still, so dor example 6 days was 85 a day, 7 days might be 80.

If tickets have already been purchased directly through Disneyand not used yet and the new pricing for those days happens to decrease, will a refund be given?
THANKS in advance.:disrocks:

I have a room only reservation for next summer for my 50th birthday at por in august. Was hoping for room discount and maybe even free dining. Now i have to decide for certain and buy tickets from ut by octover 15. 1400 for hotel, nearly 1500 for three 7 day park hoppers and unknown food costs.

Watching a coworker struggle when his 60 day fp window opened the day of "magical enhancements" left a sour taste in my mouth. I have only put $283 on this vacation which i can get back. If i buy ut tickets and end up not going, who knows if i will be able to use those tickets against an anticipated 2020 trip?

I am seriously considering booking a 50th birthday camping trip instead. 2020 will be here soon enough.

As long as you don't make any changes to your existing packages, you will not have to pay the new ticket prices. Since you put your deposits down, you have your package price locked in.

They will not give you a refund. The chances of ticket prices going down for any dates is slim to none.

I would suggest changing your room-only reservation to a package with tickets prior to Oct. 16 to lock in today's ticket prices. Yes, you will probably pay slightly more for the tickets going through Disney rather than UT, but you will only have a $200 package deposit to contend with instead of $1000's in, possibly, unused UT tickets.

I actually have a 2019 and a 2020 trip planned.( too far apart to get an AP) Hode Disney doesn’t price me out. DCL raises their prices so much we won’t cruise anymore. Don’t know if I am willing to give up WDW. May have to give up my 2019 trip as it was just an extra, because I need my Disney fix, kinda trip. 2020 is a graduation trip for my 2 college kids. Can’t miss that one

Here's the excerpt. The "described above" comment references the table already posted on validation length number if days ticket.

Date-based tickets purchased as part of a Walt Disney Travel Company room and ticket package will have one of the following valid use periods (whichever is longer): (i) the same valid use period described above, OR (ii) a valid use period beginning on the package resort arrival date and ending on the package resort check-out date.

For example, a Guest who purchases a Walt Disney Travel Company package with a 3-Day base ticket and a resort length of stay of 6 nights with an arrival date of Nov. 1; ticket is valid any 3 days from Nov, 1 – Nov. 7.

So we have an answer. If you have an AP and have been doing the “buy a ticket just to get free dining but use the ticket at a later date gig” it’s over. You use that ticket on that package or it’s not good. I expect this is going to upset a lot of people

I have base tickets I purchased from UT. We are staying off-site week before Christmas week. I didn’t get the e-tickets because I wanted the flexibility for full refund in the event our trip fell apart (including my kids’ significantly others and too hard to know if scheduling works out for everyone). Will I be ok with these passes I already purchased when I go to link them to MDE to request fast passes at the 30 day mark in mid November, or be subject to pay more once I link my tickets to my account?

Didn’t I read somewhere that the tickets can still be used at a later than chosen date but you may have to pay an increase for that date (And not get a refund if it happens to be a cheaper time)? They just expire sooner than 14 days now if you do use it on a non-package trip.

Will I be able to use my length of stay ticket to upgrade to an AP?

I know why everyone is upset. This is harder to control and much less flexible. But keep in mind, most people don't buy tickets in advance to store on their MDE for a future trip. And most people, when they do buy their tickets, do so knowing their vacation dates. This will only hurt the people that buy the packages and have an AP or the people who stock up on tickets.

For me, even though we're off site, I already know my dates. My only question is whether there's a chance at a cheaper deal if I wait to buy tickets or if they will go up for me. Currently, the dates I'm planning are listed as value and regular dates.

This is my understanding/assumption as well. I expect to see the same type of cost structure with it becoming lower cost per day the more days you have on your ticket. The big question in my mind is how much are they upping the starting point, because I certainly expect there will be some increase there with this change.
