OFFICIAL 2018 Christmas & Holiday Time at DLR Superthread!!

Today is the 60 day mark for Thanksgiving Day dining reservations, but none were available online. I called Disneyland Dining and the really sweet cast member told me that Disneyland will be OPENING UP ALL THANKSGIVING DAY DINING RESERVATIONS THIS TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 25th AT 7:00am PST (10:00am EST).

Let's hope they open up the rest of the reservations for F! dining, etc. when they do!
Well, the bad news is that when I asked the CM that same question, she said that she didn't think that the show and parade packages would be released on Tuesday.... but only the Thanksgiving meals would be released.

ALSO... I was told that while the Disneyland dining reservations are normally available online at 3:00am PST / 6:00am EST, that the Thanksgiving dinner reservations will NOT be available online until 7:00am PST / 10:00am EST.

She also said that there will be special Thanksgiving meals in each of the Disneyland resort hotels, including a very special one in the Disneyland Hotel Ballroom. This special meal will be approx $130.00 per person, and will have live music and characters. That's the only information I got on that one.... but she did say that there would be Thanksgiving meals in most of the hotel restaurants :rainbow:

Did she give any hints on when the show packages might open? Tomorrow is 60 days from when we want to do BB fantasmic.. I will just keep checking every day!

Just got off the phone with a super nice Dine Line CM. She said that there was a small glitch yesterday morning that opened the books for some on site restaurants for 11/22/18. If you managed to make a PS reservation during that window, you are good for Thanksgiving Day! Unless you wish to change your reservation in some way (e.g. location, time, size of party, etc.), there should be no need to call in or go online tomorrow. Otherwise, for everyone else wishing to make Thanksgiving Day reservations at DLR, as the pp stated, the books open tomorrow morning online and by phone. Those of us who do this every year can advise that you take that with a big grain of salt -- sometimes there is quite a delay in making every location and every time slot available. Be patient! Have something to amuse you while you're on hold! And be kind if/when you speak with CMs -- they will get heaps of abuse tomorrow and be exhausted by noon. A few kind words from you can go a long, long way with them.
As for the dining packages, this CM told me that they are just as anxious and impatient as we are! All they know is that they are able to book packages through 11/03 right now. That's it -- no more information given to them -- even the leads don't know more. She suggested that we go ahead and book whichever dining package location we want, for the time we want, then call back after the packages open up to have the reservation switched over. She didn't think that would be a problem.

Thanks for this information. My DD hasn't seen Fantasmic before because of the crowds and the wait time (before the dining packages). I am hoping to get a BB lunch dining package so that she will get a front and center seat. She needs this as an accommodation and I am willing to pay for it, but, really, really want it. I think I will do what you suggest and make a lunch ADR and then have it switched over.

Checking in here - will be there from Nov 22-29, split stay (currently Hilton Anaheim, then GCH).

Really excited - this will be my first DL visit in years, and will be there with my parents who haven't been to DL for two decades, though we've been to other Disney resorts. And this is the first time in years that I'll be at a Disney park for Christmas time! Slightly nervous about DL though given how used I've gotten to WDW over the last few years. But DL was also the park that rekindled my Disney interest as an adult so hopefully it will be every bit as good as I remember it to be!

Following this thread with interest as looking to book Fantasmic packages for either Nov 23 or Nov 25 (I don't think it'll be running on the weekdays)...

Well shoot. At this point Blue Bayou is all booked up for the 11/16, when I wanted the dining package. Is it 7 am PST that dining reservations open up for us to book? I'll just be stalking the Dining Reservations for the Fantasmic Packages, but I gotta know when to set my alarm for.

Thanks for this. I guess I’ll go ahead and book regular B.B. tomorrow and call later to add fantasmic....

Do they hold back seats for the fantasmic packages? Just curious how it works if the restaurant has no regular seating available. Are you guaranteed to be able to turn regular dining into fantasmic seating? thanks for the input, just not sure how these packages work. TIA.

So excited to make our ADR’s this week! Goofy’s on arrival and BB on our last day. We don’t eat many meals in the park and don’t care to be tied to a specific time which is why we aren’t planning on anywhere else.

Sorry if this was already discussed. Does anyone know whether all/most TS restaurants generally do some kind of turkey dinner for Thanksgiving? I tried searching for past menus and all I found was from 2015, but at that point it looked like just about all the restaurants had something (though some were more traditional than others). Have they not released menus in more recent years? I'm trying to decide if I should book several places when reservations open and wait for menus to be released to decide, or if I should just book one place and trust that they'll have it covered.

How is everyone doing in the Thanksgiving reservations department this fine morning? Not everything was loaded online by 7 am PT, but by now (almost an hour later), it looks like almost everything is up and running. The online system seems to be running smoothly. Hope everyone is getting what they want!
