Great to know, another reason I’m happy we picked the Poly! Thx for everyone’s feedback...13days!

Hope you have a great trip! :yay:

We passed our 60-days out as of yesterday. Got up early and arranged our fastpasses. The only thing we weren't able to get was Slinky Dog Dash. I'm excited for the trip, but I have medical issues that I'm afraid might cause us to have to cancel. I'll know more on Friday. It's hard because I've been planning this trip for over a year and have wanted to go to Disney for over 30 years.

60 days will go by fast! I'm sorry that you might have to cancel. I hope Friday brings good news and you are able to take your trip :wizard:.

We ordered the twilight feast for one adult last night and although it was definitely less food than last summer for $10 more it was plenty of food for us. I also gave the server an additional $5 as I usually tip 20% for good service and the server was friendly and helpful.
We have two adults and two kids and want to do the twilight feast - I am so torn on what to order. I'm not sure one would be enough, but two is probably way too much. Our kids are moderate to light eaters, but DH can eat a good amount. I wish they still had he kids portion.

We aren't going until January, but I am looking into this as an option instead of taking 4 kids, 2 of which are infants, to an Ohana dinner, but I don't know how much to order either. I have read that if you have a fridge, some enjoy the leftovers the next day, so maybe that's an option for you?

When my kids were infants and toddlers we ordered in from resort restaurants often. It was such a relaxing treat tucking the kids in and then enjoying a good meal. To us it was the best of both worlds, no need for a sitter, peace of mind that the kids are with us but yet we were able to enjoy our favorite restaurants. We haven’t tried the feast yet, but we have ordered from Narcoossee’s several times while staying at the GF. Best use of DDP credits. They would send a waiter from the restaurant to deliver the food. They’d bring the entire three courses along with the bread and pink sea salts. We miss those meals!

I love this so much! I have a reservation still just in case everyone decides to act like human beings, but it's doubtful :stitch:
At home, we usually do 'date nights' like this, having a meal after the kids are in bed, so I can definitely see the benefit of room service! And if all else fails, throw on the TV for them:rotfl2:

We have 2 adult and 2 kids. I ordered 1 adult portion and then an extra side of dumplings and wings. That worked perfectly for our group. Our kids don’t like the bread pudding so we grabbed them a dole whip to share after some pool time.

Oh my goodness Im so exited we leave Fri! My husband will work a half a day and then we will make the 6 hour trip! We have dinner at Maria & Enzo and then check into the Dolphin for 2 nights then into VGF for 3 nights and then Wed the PVB for 4 nights! It seems like Ive been waiting forever for this trip to come! Im already just about fully packed except a few things we need to use up until we leave.. I already am too excited to eat or sleep lol I have to work a 12 hour shift tomorrow...

Now that Safeway has stopped doing grocery delivery, who do you use and why?
TIA!

We chose to rent a car for 24 hours. We could of done a lyft but my dh just wanted the car option. We paid $60/65 for it. We are a family of 5 so we had to get one that fit us for the 24 hours-we used it for DHS am EMH and for chef mickeys on our arrival night.

We were staying at the BC for the first 5 nights so we rented from the dolphin.

Anyone know off of the top of your head how late they serve the twilight feast? We are on a bus heading to the poly freon dhs and we are weighing our dinner options.

Thanks poly friends!

This is my suggestion as well, if you think one twilight feast will be a little short to feed everyone, I'd just add an appetizer or two.

Sounds like a great 3 way split! Hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

We just got back. Overall a great trip - we'll definitely be visiting the Polynesian again. A few minor criticisms - the check in / check out queues were awful. We luckily didn't have to use the check in queue but I got quite nervous we were going to miss our bus just to check out. They really need an express checkout process in the app or something like most hotels (or to publicize it? is there one? I couldn't find anything on it). Also the lava pool bartender was oddly rude to me. She was perfectly nice to my husband. It seemed very un disney. We were also in Rarotonga which we were happy with - in 1829, a patio room, although it was a tiny bit too close to the smoking area, we would have to walk through a cloud of smoke to enter the building from the main lobby as the smoking area between the two buildings seems to be heavily used.

Other than that - we had a great time. My husband loved that we could watch the monorail from our room (he is a big nerd about the monorail) and the room seemed very private with all the foliage outside. We caught most of the extra magic hours but didn't rush and got on every ride we wanted (even slinky dog dash, which my poor 3 year old hated, he enjoyed mine train the day before though) except for Haunted Mansion, but that was only because at that point I decided I was exhausted and wanted to go soak my feet in the hot tub.

I think we need a different strategy for food next time as well. We had heard such good things about O'hana, and while it was fine, it didn't live up to expectations. I think we'd skip it next time, although maybe the room service Polynesian feast would suit us better. We liked the oasis pool bar for a quick bite, and I enjoyed Kona cafe's breakfast. Sanaa was fantastic, as was the prime time diner, we would definitely do both again. I think we've figured out we're not really quick service people while on vacation either. I wish there was an option for breakfast before 7 other than Captain cooks. I ended up eating the kids egg white scramble every morning!

My kids though, absolutely adored the lava pool, and my husband and I loved trader sams. I'm pleased because I didn't think my husband would want to go back and now he's talking about another trip in the next few years.

I have only ever physically checked out of a WDW hotel when doing a split stay. I believe that at least if you have a credit card attached to your room then you do not need to physically check out (I believe this used to be advertised on the TVs but not sure if they still do that I don't watch them) not sure if you can still use this feature if you don't have a credit card attached to your room.

Was your room a standard room? I know they have changed things around and now I'm not sure what rooms are standard.
