Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

One correction on my previous post, riviera will have the most direct route and non stop to Epcot. CBR will obviously have a stop at riviera on the way there.

On an interesting note, one of the vloggers noted that it would be easy for CBR guests in certain areas of the resort to easily be able to walk to the riviera gondola if they were going to Epcot. Soooooo... if you picked the island that was central both to Jamaica and the old Barbados, well, you could have a direct shot both ways....

We are booking our bounceback for Dec 2019 in hopes that Galaxy's Edge may be open and hoping that the gondola system will be operational. Is that a pipedream? Surely December is "late fall 2019"?!? I mentioned it before but still wondering what area would be best to stay in at CBR in order to make best use of the new transportation? I'm guessing we just dont know yet. If CBR is to be a hub then what would be the closest, Aruba? How long will it take to walk to the gondola station? Would the Riviera station be closer if staying on the other side of the resort? Would that be a better option. I dislike the uncertainty!

I think Disney wants that gondola operating to the studios before Star Wars opens. I suspect that Disney also wants riviera to be opened by the time Star Wars hits the ground - imagine all that unsold inventory hotel rooms at a brand new resort with quick and spectacular transportation to the studios- liscence to print money...

That is why those construction vloggers are so interested in the extremely fast pace of some of the gondola stations, and the more laid back pace at other stations. They figure it will open in phases. They are also chatting about how fast riviera is going up. And how slow the renos to old port royals is going....resources appear to be very focussed.

I don't know about Star Wars land being open by dec of 2019. If it's not opened by late November, I can't imagine Disney rolling it out in Christmas chaos, but that's just my opinion. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I tried checking on the DVC scuttlebutt regarding riviera opening because I feel they will closely relate to the Star Wars opening. Not much info out there that I could find , which is a little weird as this DVC property is going up fast.

Does anyone know if the pull down beds are the same size as the ones in the Poly studios? Thank you!

Any info on the freestyle machines? Like - are they going to stay dispersed around the resort? My kids happened to think that was awesome when we stayed May 2017. Also, is there a map that shows where Spyglass Grill is? Thanks!

We stayed overnight on 9/1 for Food and Wine specifically. I completely misjudged how crowded it would be so we spent a lot of time at the resort. They have a situation at the pool(even the bar) with bees, they are seriously EVERYWHERE you sit. One guest stepped on one and his foot started swelling like crazy. Thankfully the lifeguards were there to help him. It was quite the scene.

The food /dinner choices were a little disappointing. $20.99 for adults and $14.99 for kids were the buffet prices. I didn’t plan on doing dinner there so I was unprepared with what our choices would be. We opted to eat dinner somewhere else. We stayed in Aruba and the Island Market was really close to our room so breakfast was very simple the next day.

The room was fantastic and very clean. My daughter really enjoyed the pull down bed.

And there is a "new" QS Restaurant at Trinidad South,Spyglass Grill, that is really good.:)

Sebastian's and OPR are COMING(sometime!lol).:)

I am looking at staying with DD, age 7, and my parents in June 2019. Shopping around hotels, CBR seems less expensive but I am worried construction will still be heavy. 248.00 vs. close to 300 at POR. If we are not in a preferred room, how far of a walk is the farthest building from the buses? Thank you!

All construction is scheduled to be completed by then.

Every Village has its own bus stop so the longest walk you'd have to a bus stop is less than 2 minutes.

do the handicap acessible rooms have a table and chairs? (the ones with the tub, vanity in with the tub and toilet, but not a roll in shower) thanks

With the construction done will it be easier to get from one part of the resort to the other or will you still need the internal bus?
