*** The Official September 2018 Thread *** let's get started to have some fun

Annother 9/7 - 9/15 person.

Staying at the GF for the first time. We are surprising our 2 boys (10 and 9). They hopefully won't figure it out until the see the sign.

Oh and for those looking for disposable ponchos I saw some at Walmart for just under a dollar in the camping section and dollar tree has even thinner ones that were 2 for a dollar.

Please forgive all my posts, I'm trying to catch up and seeing so many of you being there at the same time has got me fired up. I'm trying to just like people's posts that are there the same time as us vs. replying and flooding y'all too much, but I wish I'd seen this thread months ago.

Im getting so excited! We will arrive next Fri the 7th! Hubby is working a half day while I took that day off to get oil changed and car detailed and pack it up so by the time hubby gets off, gets home and showered we can leave, make the 6 hour drive.

I made Maria and Enzo reservations for that night, really want to eat there but didnt want to give up any of our other reservations so that was the only night, I only hope we are up to it, I booked the reservation on Open Table so that if we dont feel up to it I dont have to pay the cancel/no show fee that Disney has.

Already so excited having a hard time sleeping lol Hubby and I have an appt for mani/pedi on Mon, its a disney vacation tradition, started making hubby get a mani/pedi bc of the work he does and now he doesnt mind them lol

Meet with the house/dog sitter tomorrow.. Im 90% packed already..

A little nervous still about using a scooter for the first time, I know ppl can be mean, you cant see whats wrong with me on the outside but Im going to strive not to even notice any looks I may get.

I hope that it doesnt rain constantly, I lived in Orlando so know how it can be, we take daily afternoon swim breaks at our resort and that time is just as important to us as our park time..

Gotta go call disney our mde and my sons are kinda mixed up need to make sure everything is 100% before we get there so it all works properly..

Hope everyone has a great day!

To add to the sugar and sleeping posts:

1. I have been off desserts for a week to prep myself for major gluttony in 4 days. :D

2. I've been sleeping terribly the last few nights. Lots of travel anxiety and general worry about the trip.

My commutes have been horrible the last 2 days. I can't wait to park my car at the airport and not drive for a solid week.

I've been doing the keto diet (or lifestyle if you will) since November. I've lost 94 lbs. My goals is down 100 before Disney and then I'm not going to worry at all what I have. Zebra domes, dole whips, beaches & cream, carrot cake cookie, rice cream, karamell kuche, etc. The great thing is I can enjoy as much as I want and when I get back, I'll go back to being a "good" boy. ;)

When we were there in February, I ate what I wanted and only gained 3 lbs. I got that back off within 5 days of being back.

Besides, calories don't count at Disney. :lmao:
Congrats on the weight loss! I'm also on keto, and I've lost about 45 pounds since late April. I was in Disney for a long weekend in July and ate whatever I wanted. I did gain a bit of weight, but it came back off within a week, so I plan to enjoy myself on our September vacation as well -- then get back to business once I'm back home. :)

Just a warning to you Keto folks - slowly add in a few extra carbs in these last weeks before you go. DH and I didn't last September and did the whole "Disney Carbs don't count" mentality. Let's just say we got to know lots about the Disney restrooms! It wasn't miserable, but it would've been better if we'd have let our bodies get used to a few more carbs before we suddenly carbbed out at Disney!

7 days out and still rearranging the itinerary because I came across the Fantasmic Dessert and VIP Experience yesterday and now were considering it. Anyone done it? Would you recommend or should we just use our FP for it.

Three more days of work after today!

Tweaked my fast passes a bit. Hoping there will be some live streams of tonight's Halloween Party although I'm not watching the parade or fireworks portions since I want to wait to see those in person next Monday night! Oh, and I'm waiting for the F&W festival to open this Thursday so I can add the pricing for what I want to try to my spreadsheet!

It is so hard to be patient and to get any work done this week!!

Also, it seems like my red Mickey balloon has stopped moving in my countdown ticker. Don't mess with me, Mickey!

Work is killing me! We are slow and that makes it so much worse. I'm off Friday at least!

So to change the current subject. Anyone else not sleeping ??? Since I hit about 2 weeks I stay up late surfing The DIS, checking and re checking my itinerary, looking at what ADR's are available, surfing Touring Plans wait times and crowd predictions, Checking the 15 day forecast ..... I need to go to sleep!!!!

I'm not struggling yet, but I might the last night. I feel like I've been obsessing over the DIS boards the last few weeks. Your post reminded me about this old Disney advert:

I love that commercial - such a classic and so true! :hyper:

Hmmm...interesting.
I didn't have that issue when I went in Feb, but duly noted.

Add me on to the list of being so excited to just stuff my face with fried foods, alcohol and desserts at Disney. I've been counting macros and going to the gym 5 days a week and I've lost almost 50 pounds since mid February. No keto for me. Love my carbs too much.
I can't wait to just not care!! :rotfl:But I do plan on still doing some cardio/body weight workouts while back at Pop (we'll see how long that lasts lol)

4 DAYS!

I just cancelled my ADR for Narcoosee's for 3 people at 5:40 on the 25th if anyone is interested.

Well, looks like less than 30 days out and I'm totally changing our plans for Wednesday the 26th. Since we're doing MNSSHP on the 25th, planning on sleeping in on 26th. It was going to be MK day, but that was before I added the party. Now, I think I'm switching to HS. Canceled our ADR for the Plaza and changed it to Mama Melrose's fantasmic package. We've always liked fantasmic and never tried MM before, so win win. Was debating about doing H&V buffet, but looks like there's a LOT of stuff with peppers there and we (DW & I) have pepper allergy.

Now, the hard part. Cancelling the FPs for MK and knowing we won't get crap for HS.

SO very excited! We will be at POP on Saturday, Sept. 1st to the 8th. Please send some pixie dust my way though as my leg is acting up and going to the doctor today to see if it will be OK. Hoping for the best!

I have employment worries despite working in a profession and place that should safe. Not thinking about that now.

20% chance of cyclone formation in 5 days popped up today on nhc.noaa
