Beach Club or Wilderness Lodge

I would definitely vote for BC just for proximity. You get to walk to two parks and as previously stated miss the mass exodus out of the park to the buses. Personally, I feel the Epcot resorts are the best location on property and if solely focusing on Epcot and DHS then I would stick with BC.

This week I spent 5 days at Copper Creek part of Wilderness Lodge wishing I was at Beach Club. If you don’t have a car, Wilderness Lodge is not fun.

I definitely like Wilderness more, but the convenience of the other hotel is tipping the scales. Since it's a short trip where we are only going to Epcot and Hollywood Studios it does seem silly to stay so far away from them.
We love the Wilderness Lodge. It is our one of our two favorite resorts and we always look forward to staying there. But we usually end up staying at the Beach Club twice as often as at the WL simply because of how much we love the convenience of walking into Epcot any time we feel like it. The location can't be beat. :)

I have seen comments in several other threads where people said they would never stay at Beach Club again but they never explained why. Have some had a bad experience there?

I haven’t stayed there in 15 years but for a 10 year stretch in the 90s, I stayed there 5 times and my family loved it. We would have joined DVC there if there would have been any points left when we did but instead bought at Boardwalk. Personally, I liked the laid back atmosphere and it reminded me of all the trips to the beach as a kid. I’m a big fan of having to rely on transportation as much as possible. Allows you to be more on your schedule.

The difference in cost does not counter the amount of time you would loose in waiting for a bus everyday from WL and the travel time lost everyday just to get to DS/Epcot. Also, entering from the International entrance is a plus today, but may be lost once the skyway opens up. BC for sure.

We enjoy both resorts for different reasons. The theme at Wilderness is beautiful.
When we go for F&W and will be spending most of our time at EPCOT or HS, we always stay at an EPCOT resort. We love being able to walk to EPCOT and HS. After Illuminations, it is really nice to have a short walk back to your resort instead of fighting your way through the crowd and the long bus lines.
My vote is keep your reservation at BC. Do Wilderness another time.

Ive stayed at yacht club and wilderness lodge. To me, the yacht club was a nice hotel but the wilderness lodge was another theme park land! Staying at the wilderness lodge feels like you are in a special place, it was so exciting going back to the hotel. The yacht club was very convinient to epcot but i would gladly sacrifice 20 minutes of travel a day to stay in an amazingly themed place on a lake, with boat service to magic kingdom. It was so beautiful. Go with the wilderness lodge.

So we've decided to stay with Beach Club since we are only going to Epcot and Hollywood Studios it would be so convenient to walk to these parks. We made a reservation to Artist Point so we can see Wilderness Lodge for a little bit on our trip. Thanks for the help everyone :)

We usually stay at the wilderness Lodge and tried the beach club last summer because we wanted the pool for our kids in the heat. From the minute we arrived we could feel that BC just wasn’t our hotel and we tried to switch but it wasn’t possible. We ended up going to Boardwalk for all the dining options because we didn’t like the way the beach club a quick service smelled. The pool is definitely nicer in the beach club and it definitely was nice to walk into the backside of Epcot. We are always at the wilderness Lodge the week of Halloween and it is lovely then.

Like someone else said go to the border nest lodge and use a Minnie Van if you need to get somewhere fast. Epcot is not really that far from the wilderness Lodge. At the end of the day either will be lovely have a great trip.

what did you not like about he BC previously...We've stayed at al l3 (or 5) epcot resorts and have opinions on them all- curious why you prefer BW over BC?

I think it's just the style, from reviews I had read I though I thought I was going to be wow'd be the hotel. I wasn't a big fan of their QS. The pool was nice, but from reading things on here people compare it to a water park, which I didn't agree with. I just liked the theme better over at the Boardwalk and it might be because the hotel went above and beyond for my birthday. I got a card and balloons it was really sweet and never happened anywhere else before. I also like the actual Boardwalk, the shops and entertainment are really cute.

But we are going to be staying at the Beach Club in October since nothing else opened up and the location just can't be beat for Food and Wine and going to Hollywood Studios.

I agree with your comments- LOVE the board walk- but i like looking at ir over the water at night- so Y/BC works- I don't mind a stroll to the board walk or dolphin for a snack or late night beverage!

I would do a split stay, for the best of both worlds!

OP said its a short stay. IMO, a split stay would make even less sense than switching to WL. For us, short stays are about maximizing our time so we choose the resort based on convenience before anything else.

I see a lot of complaints about Stormalong Bay - beautiful pool area, but can be crowded since its such an attraction, lots of twists and turns making it hard to keep an eye on kids, and a deep lazy river area. Plus a lack of quick service options at the resort.

Ya we are only going Thursday-Saturday it wouldn't make sense to do a split stay.

If spending most of your time at EP and HS, then definitely BC--even though I agree with you, not the wow factor that you get at WL.
